Although the cruise director said the Norweigan Sky was the oldest in the fleet, it certainly didn't feel or look like it! I've been on this ship twice in the past two years, and would go again! My family has been on several cruise lines, and NCL does a great job with their Freestyling Dining. You've got many dining choices and specialty restaurants (those have a cover charge), but well worth the nominal fees! For those of you that don't want to dress up in the evenings, this might be for you....you can decide to dress it up or down with Freestyling!

The ship was beautiful o the outside but the inside was not what I expected. I have been on the SSNorway, Soverin of the Seas 2x's, Carnival Freedom, 2 other Carnival ships and several others. In comparison the Sky is last on the totem pole. Again the beauty is on the outside.

This ship, Norwegian Sky, is a ten-year old ship. Get a newer ship or a different one. I felt like everything was about money. Even though the welcome cocktail or drink was $8.50, my wife thought it was free. Go to the deck pool, cruise waiter/waitress were asking if I wanted to get a drink or beer. Sorry, I could not drink any alcohol. It seems that the cruise company wanted me to get drunk and spend a lot of money. Another thing, most of the low level cruise personnel people speak little English or nothing.

Surpirsed NCL was able to pack so much into a two day cruise (in reality a day-and-a-half). Food was good, cruise director kept things going. This is the smallest ship in the fleet but there is plenty to do. Overall would recommend

The ship was clean at all times, easy instructions to find places

The ship was easy to board, and easy to depart. It is old, but cheap weekend cruising was worth it. They packed alot into two nights...I felt we got all we could have asked for in a mini-cruise...dancing, games, karaoke, casino, bingo, shows, and good food. Perfect for a weekend bachelorette/birthday girls getaway!

The Sky is a beautiful ship given that it's the oldest in the fleet (10yrs). Our room was just big enough and comfortable. Other than the jogging track right above us, we didn't hear a thing. We could barely tell the ship was moving! The cruise director Matt was the best. Can't wait to see what the rest of the fleet is like. And we especially liked the Freestyle dining. Embarkation and return was easy and fast. Our flight was delayed getting to the ship so we had to run, but they held the ship an extra 30mins or so to help everyone get on that had the same problem. We completely enjoyed our stay and would definately travel on NCL again.

What a big surprise!!! We had done a cruise in Brasil few years ago and we thought it was a cruise... LOL In fact this is a real cruise where you can go have lunch, dinner or breakfast in separate tables with your family only... no more shared tables. The Crew is amazing, the food is excellent, Jacuzzi and Swimming pool are great... what more I can say about this ship!?!?!?! 100% recommended... Don't lose the chance to travel with NCL and their excellent destination to Bahamas. Welcome aboard and enjoy your cruise! PS: We loved this cruise so much that we are already thinking in our next destination... Alaska!!!

6 of us went and we all felt as though we were an inconvienence to the ship's crew...not even punch in the machine to drink, water was hot, tea was undrinkable. We tried to enjoy happy hour on the back of the boat everyday, but they acted like they didn't want to serve us...a very unpleasant man...we all tried, but he treated everyone the same. I met the only dinning room server ever that told us to order all dinner courses at once for faster service, but it really was because he didn't return...every night. Lastly, we moved a few things around in the fridge so we could cool my wife's medicine...just stacked it in the back...and yes we were billed for $9 of soda...told them we did'nt drink them and was told they would have to confirm it ...and they never refunded our money...plus basically said I was a liar. Also, the bait and switch on their restaurants...food is an important part of every cruise...good food should be included as per other cruise lines...we cruise a lot (minimum 2X year)...Norwegian needs to make some improvements...and I am sure they won't post this personal review which proves they're the company I have reviewed. I will say they have an excellent medical staff on board. Thank you for that.

This is the 2nd cruise that I have taken this year (the previous one on a competitor's ship) so I am easily able to compare and contrast between the cruise lines. The Norwegian Sky is an older ship but fairly well maintained for that. However, you cannot get past the crowding in the buffet area where lines were encountered. They did their best to open up other areas to reduce the lines but still felt very crowded. Staff were always available to provide anti-microbial hand wash and to point you to other less crowded sections.

The staff members were not friendly at all, in fact, seemed upset at times. At one point we were waiting for 45 minutes to be served at one of the bars. The ship leaned a few degrees due to bad weather and everybody was extremely scared, running, screaming, etc. The staff did nothing to calm the passangers. Our 2nd day trip was cancelled and we were stuck in the ship with horrible, boring activities and terrible food. Expensive drinks compared to other cruiselines. Bad experience with Norwegian... no wonder their prices keep going down.

The ship - although not one of the newer ones is very well maintained. Most of the crew are very friendly and really go the extra mile - especially in the dining areas.

beautiful ship. very impressed with the look of it. elegant and casual at the same time. like staying in a very high quality hotel.

This was the perfect get away trip for a mother and daughter..not too long/not too short. At first we didn't think we would like the freestyle dining but then we decided that it is what you make of it and we had most of our evening meals in the Palace which was excellent. One night we paid extra and ate in Cagney's which was a notch above the rest !!! Our biggest disappointment was the lack of nonalcoholic beverages late in the evening. Unless we wanted soda from the bar, the only things available were water or iced tea. It would have been very nice to have other choices; such as orange or cranberry juice or lemonade. All in all a good time and experience. Would we do it again? Absolutely. And by the way, this was not our first cruise. I have been on six and my daughter has been on five. So I don't consider us rookies.

It rained for two days

I had an overall good experience aboard the Norwegian Sky. The food was excellent, esp. in the dining rooms. I would highly recommend them. The entertainment was top notch. Never a bad show. The crew and comedian could have jobs elsewhere. They are that good. The ship was clean and very comfortable and the freestyle atmosphere is very relaxing. However, the fitness center is not open 24-7 which is very important to me. It opened at six. The Bingo sessions were alittle misleading. A 2000 dollar jackpot was offered at the first session and we thought it had to go. Nope, in 46 numbers! Good luck with that. It increased every night in amount but not numbers. It never went. The consolation amount never went above 150. You also should be the extra packages you don't find out about until you get to the session. By that time, you prob won't make much money if any even if you win. the beverage prices are high as my wife and I spent an additional 400 on beverages and we are not big drinkers by any means. But, it was fun as I usually have almost anywhere.

i would recommend this cruise line to family and friends

We just got back from our cruise on the NCL Sky the last weekend of March 2010. This was my husbands 1st time to cruise and my 5th. I was very disspointed with how small our statrroom was and with the presentation and the taste of the buffets. We ate from the buffet 2 times, dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning. The lines were always very long, I think it was due to the made to order items which were pasta and waffels, They were at the beginning of the line so others did not know to pass in line. When we eat in the resturants the presentation of the food, taste and service were very good, the bad thing was that we never got our food at the same time, I would get mine then my husbands would come 10 minutes later. We had a inside stateroom with a king bed. The bed was comfortable but the room itself was so small that only one person could move at a time, the other had to stay on the bed or go in the bathroom. Our bathroom was not very clean but I think it just depends on your room steward. This is a great ship if you like to party. The ship has 20 bars, but since that is not really my thing anymore I was disapointed in the lack of onboard entertainment. There are 2 pools and 1 wading pool . The pools were Ice cold, I was suprised that they weren't heated. I don't think I ever saw anyone in the pools. There are 5 hot tubs and they were always full. I would not bring my children on this cruise. There teen area is very small and there is not much for small children to do. The one show that they have is at 8:00 PM and can be a little racy. They don't offer any shows for children . We took a boat over to their Island the "Great Stirrup Cay." The island was beautiful and everyone seemed to be having a great time but the water was very cold. I guess this is due to all the cold weather this winter. " BEWARE". YOU MIGHT BE SHOCKED WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR FINLE BILL.! HERE IS A HEADS UP. The last evening of your cruise you will recieve your bill, there will be 18% tax added to anything you bought such as sodas, drinks at the bar, drinks from the coffee bar, ect. There will also be a $12.00 A DAY "PER PERSON" SERVICE CHARGE. This can be very expensive if you have a family of three or four or if you are not expecting it. They will take it off of your bill if you ask. we tipped our cabin steward and our wait person in the resturants with cash. These services are split up between the people on the ship. I felt that since we paid 18% every time we bought a drink or soda and we tipped the people that took care of us, I did not see the reason to pay the $24.00 a day service charge for myself and my husband. So to sum it up. If you are not taking children, want to be able to eat what you want when you want to, Like bars and a good variety of music, Don't want to have to dress up for dinner or shows and get a good price then this is the cruise for you. I would however recommend getting a room with an ocean view or balcony as the rooms are bit larger. I hope that this rewiew helps you.

it was the first cruise my husband and i were ever on. we had a great time, we really didnt want to go home. the staff was great and very helpful. we will recommend this ship to all of our friends.

The ship was very clean & the staff very polite and friendly! Its seemed like every time we went to talk a walk and left our room, when we returned it was cleaned! The bed was always made, bathroom towels refreshed, it was just a plesant experience!
