The Aft Deck 12 was the most pleasant seating.

Make special dining reservation early. French, Tepanyaki and Brazilian are a must!

I would tell them be prepared to dodge carts and debris in the hallways.

Unlimited drink package is a scam. They close half the bars or restaurants all the time so lines for a drink are terrible.

You're on vacation - and it's an expensive one. So lighten up and enjoy yourself! There is PLENTY of food on-board so there is no need to race ahead of other passengers to the buffet line. Relax. Talk to other passengers. We met some great people and made a few new friends but I was amazed at the number of people who wouldn't even make eye contact let alone smile. No, we weren't obnoxious, overly-friendly people. A simple nod or "good morning" is all it takes to make for a more enjoyable trip. Yes, I know a person can have a bad day sometimes, I'm not talking about that. Basically, you will get out of this experience what you put into it. The buffet area can be very crowded and it was always a challenge to find an empty table. After the first day or two, we began proactively offering a seat or two at our table if we had them available (again, I'm talking about the buffet area, not the actual dining rooms). Our offers were always accepted and improved the experience for all of us. I'm sure NCL hates when passengers say this, but we didn't book a single excursion through NCL. We chose to arrange our own activities in port and when we compared what we did with similar NCL offerings, we saved a lot of money and interacted with a lot of locals. A few respectful questions and they would point us toward the best places to eat (not where most tourists go), and the easiest/cheapest way to get to where we wanted to go. If you're a little less adventurous, every port has kiosks with people who can set you up with the various tours. Not as convenient as NCL doing it for you (that's why they charge a premium), so it's usually a lot less expensive for the same experiences.

Cagneys Steak house was good. Avoid 9th floor mid ship cabins. Noise was intolerable from sound system below; specifically 9103 and 9105

Be sure to keep an open mind when visiting countries of such different culture.

Go in a diet before embarkation.

Dining room is less crowded the later you go. If you have to wait for a table, they offer you a free glass of champagne ~ a win, win for all!

Just enjoy yourself. The jewel provides everything you need if you want to be the life of the party or just enjoy some down time. It is a beautiful ship with a great staff

If you have a big group dining at the Garden Cafe, ask the staff to help you find a table for the whole group.

We found a lot of people didn't care who they step in front of. whether we had a hot drink or food. They stepped in front of you. Some of the people turn corners while texting.

Could never find a table to sit at for breakfast.

Thanks for at least having a room dedicated to cigar smokers! I wish that it could have had a TV installed in there.
