The smaller ships are quieter and better for "empty nesters" This ship handled hurricane Pablo in stride. The (deck 8) waterfront is a nice hangout area. If you have kids there is plenty for them to do.. this cruise ( a 19 day T/A) there were only 10 kids,

I think when you don’t receive room service you received a three dollar per person:/room credit however I never confirmed this it just kept showing up on my bill as I kept forgetting to flip the switch for room service that I really didn’t need everyday anyway:) if you’re going to bring a small power bar ensure it only plugs into one outlet as they do not have tandem outlets they are turned side-by-side if you understand what I mean!

Book dinner and entertainment options early!

Margaritaville has a FREE breakfast. The buffet is limited, but has the basics and plenty of seating. Nice if you don't want to deal with the insanity of the Garden Cafe.

Do not go on a cruise that requires you to tender. Horrid. Our port time was 7-3. We were able to get off ship at 11:05. Took taxi to beach, got there at 11:50,at 1:15 I wanted to go back to Georgetown, we got there at 1:40, to see the line to get back on the ship was out in the street. Stood in line for another hour and a half to find out that others had been there over 2 and a 1/2 hours. Did the same waiting the following day at roatan. Pretty much wasted an excursion due to the waiting times and lines.

This was #22, our first on GETAWAY, two previous on BREAKAWAY, her sister and a virtual twin. You may be sailing with 4k+ of your newestr friends, competing, shall we say, for whatever entertainment and resorces are available. Do your homework, and book as early as you can manage..make reservations wherever you can.

Try to get out early to beat the crowds and you will be fine, Or just go with the flow. No need to sweat the small stuff or you will ruin your vacation. 😁

Be ready to pay for extras if you don't pre-pay for the packages. If you try to go on the cheap, you can, but you can add costs easily and quickly
Chapmandad17
Pay extra for the Priority Pass but make sure you use it and ask questions.

Don't get off on any islands that require tendereing in.
tpierce5
Staff did not seem prepared to use existing life boats as tenders to several of the islands like Grand Cayman and Roatan. Expect an uncomfortable experience until bugs worked out.

Be sure to bring your earplugs, and prepare to have a great time.

Allow yourself to have fun and leave all your worries behind. Get into the experience!

Make sure if you fly in to take NCL's shuttle from airport to ship. IF it works like it used to, teh shuttle will take you to teh front of the line and you won't have the wait. If you drive, take a Lyft or Uber to airport and take their shuttle.

Plan and reserve the small shows early.

Fully explore the ship lots of hidden places to sit and chill, as well as the usual busy popular area.

If you board in New Orleans, allow a lot of extra time (2 hours) to get on the ship.

If you want too dine in a speciality restaraunt particularly Ocean Blue and Cagney's you had better book pre cruise on line it seems too me, although you may have been able too get in at a real late dining time.
