Embarkation

Due to some accidents, took 2 hours to get to the port (normally should take 10 minutes from Harrah's Hotel)..Then another 45 minutes in long lines to get to check in counter.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms had many choices and very well prepared and tasty food. Café served very good breakfast. Did not have to eat in the specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were crowded but I managed to find a small spot to soak. Spas were too small and not enough of them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent entertainment. Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet were as good or better then any performance that I have seen in Chicago or in Las Vegas! We choose cruises based on the entertainment offered and the Getaway did not disappoint.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward Mark (Anthony) De Los Santos was excellent and thoughtfull and available at a moments notice. Other stewards always greeted us cheerfully in the corridors.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean ship. Casino should be non-smoking.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was very clean. TV and shower worked very well. Would like to see the Captain's and Cruise Director's morning announcements repeated during the day (it was one and done)! Also, the depth of the balcony was the smallest of any cruise ship that we have been on (but useable).

Ship tip

If you board in New Orleans, allow a lot of extra time (2 hours) to get on the ship.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Lots to do in New Orleans! Food is delicious, lots of shopping, and siteseeing galore!

Falmouth, Jamaica

Ocho Rios Highlights tour was interesting and enlightening.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We took the Grand Cayman East End Exploration tour. We enjoyed the castle and the botanical gardens. Our tour guide Fabian was knowledgeable and very flexible and would detour anywhere if you asked him.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Took the Semi-Sub 3rd party tour. Sub was a short tour that was very very uncomfortable. The windows provided a dingy view of the coral below. Not worth the money. Take the sub tours in Hawaii which are excellent.

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
Swimming pool was large and wonderful. Beach was very large and the ocean water was about 85 degrees. Wonderful stop. Very scenic. Wish we would have gotten a free barbecue lunch like we do on RCCL in Labadee.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Just walked around the tourist center. It is a long walk to the tour buses if you take a tour.

Disembarkation

Long lines on the ship. And it is a very long walk in the New Orleans terminal to exit.
