Review summary

This was a great trip and worth every penny. The getaway was an excellent choice, it was clean, the food was great, the entertainment was awesome and i met a lot of great people on board. Although i had 9 days i didn’t have enough time to do all the things there was to do. I loved my time on the getaway and will most definitely do a longer cruise on her to Europe on my next vacation. The ports of call were interesting I appreciated the history and culture of the different countries i had the opportunity to visit.

Overall the food was great, the buffet was fine. I often hear people complain about the food quality and other negatives but i had no problem getting a nice fresh hot made to order omelette there. I ate at the Manhattan room 3 nights i loved it, the food was great and the wait staff were attentive and welcoming. Cagney’s was great. Taste and savor were great. Le Bistro was excellent.

This studio cabin was nice and clean. My room stewardess was so nice and kept the room clean. One day i forgot to turn off the do not disturb sign and she waited around to see if she could ask me in person if i wanted my room cleaned. That was above and beyond service.

Ship tip

Try to get out early to beat the crowds and you will be fine, Or just go with the flow. No need to sweat the small stuff or you will ruin your vacation. 😁

This port was an easy to navigate port. I pre booked the hop on hop off city sightseeing bus tour $27 ( 2 day pass, boat sightseeing cruise and airport stop) which included a pick up from the cruise port to a stop at the hotel where i dropped off my luggage then hopped back on for sightseeing. Well worth it.

Russia was amazing, 2 days wasn’t enough time to really appreciate its culture and history but was good enough. I did 2 days of awesome sightseeing.

Walked around the shopping area in the port then took a boat cruise ($10 usd) and saw how they made cruise ships among other sights.
