It's an amazing ship. My advice is relax and have a great time. Also see if you can get a deal with as much on board credit as possible, as things are expensive. A glass of wine or beer will set you back $10 for example. To get some laundry done will cost $20-$30. Also avoid school holidays if you don't want to be around hoards of kids. If you do have kids, there's heaps for them to do.

Install NCL apps call iConcierge before going on-board. You can use it to check you account balance and book the shows. You can use it to call your partner anywhere on the ship for a price (which is not worth it).

In order to operate the air conditioning, make sure the balcony door is shut AND locked or the system won't run correctly.

Garden cafe is always crowded, hard to find a table . Have breakfast and lunch at Moderno, Savoy or Taste.

It's just too many passengers. Any attempt to leave st first call feels like cattle call with angry pushy people. Since port calls are short everyone tries to rush out. If you can just hold back 40-60 minutes it's a wholly different and pleasant experience. Since most tours leave early that's tough.

Norwegian Getaway Nickle and Dime you (on ship purchases extremely expensive), cabin issues, extremely over crowded, a lot of music noise. Music performances right in front of the guest services desk (doesn't make sense), crew members unfamiliar with the ship, low quality of food being served, Norwegian not well organized, etc.. we couldn't wait to get off the ship when we returned to Florida.

Don't go on the Getaway there ship was not made to handle 4000 people. Always had to wait at the buffet to find a seat. Kids running and screaming around. Food awful. We also had to miss the Stockholm port and wow they gave us $70 credit for that.

Get organized ahead of time, read everything that Norwegian sends you. Get to the ship early on the first day so that you can be first to customer service or the spa desk to make your reservations for the cruise duration. Everything fills up early

Explore the ship didn't find some of the bars until last sea day because they were only noticeable from the outside deck area they blended into the normal seating areas on the inside.
