Review summary

Its a wonderful selection of cities and I highly recommend. Pace is fast to take it all in. This is not a truly relax and getaway (pun) schedule. That said the same cruise on a smaller ship would be nicer. Remember that 2-3 ships dock at each port disgorging around 8000-10000 passengers at same moment into these small towns. It really takes away from the charm. Knew this ahead of time but the reality is something to see.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Arrived mid day and onboard check in line was quite organized and prompt. On board in under 20 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Complimentary dining is good but nothing extravagant or special. We were satisfied knowing ahead to set proper expectations. We did not want to pay again for specialty upcharges.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty to do if you stay aboard on port days. With only 2 "at sea" days not much time to play around.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Very pleased with caliber and variety. NCL has stepped up theirs game.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
With few notable exceptions, every staff member fully gets how to service the guests. Great overall.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Exceptional. Felt very sanitary in every book and cranny

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
12910 aft facing balcony is huge. Dance floor big. Room is ADA so doors are wider, bathroom is bigger, and less furniture makes for a super large stateroom. Prop vibration in room is noticeable only when they are at high speed which is rare. This is THE room to book.

Ship tip

It's just too many passengers. Any attempt to leave st first call feels like cattle call with angry pushy people. Since port calls are short everyone tries to rush out. If you can just hold back 40-60 minutes it's a wholly different and pleasant experience. Since most tours leave early that's tough.

Ports of call

Copenhagen, Denmark

5 out of 5
Super cute. Easy to do in one day unless you are hitting museums

Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany

2 out of 5
Simply too far from anything. Get away from the crowds. Hop on a train to Lubeck and or Wismar. Skip Berlin entirely as it's way too far -so it's just a horrible bus ride for a short tour. Best to stay local or see other cities as noted above.

Tallinn, Estonia

5 out of 5
Possibly best port of call. Old town right off the ship. Easy to see it all cheap and fun.

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

3 out of 5
Main stop and highlight of the cruise but highly congested and every tour stop is a mob scene. A must do but no chance to absorb or truly enjoy the stop.

Helsinki, Finland

4 out of 5
Super cute. Not too far from ship.

Nynashamn (Stockholm), Sweden

2 out of 5
Docking over an hour from Stockholm is a joke. Trains and tours are required but it's a race against time to see or enjoy the very nice city. One less port and adding time is really needed if they stop so far away.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again we didn't rush out at end and leisurely stepped off around 8:30am. Super casual. Taxi available are VERY poor at port so expect a queue. Otherwise good.

DH is 80 and I'm 64. We had a very relaxing cruise. It's all in the way you approach it!

Just another reason why I do not like all these new mega ships. But that is just me.
