We booked this cruise 2 years ago, to celebrate my wife's "special" birthday. The cruise was exceptional, room, food, service, staff, entertainment, and the spa were more than we could have asked. What marred the trip was air travel, we had issues both ways, with two different airlines, and they did nothing to make us feel better about the experience. I think NCL should buy an airline and show them how customer service is done.

MDRs were great, there was a little trouble with seating procedures at Taste, creating an unneeded line. Not the same problem at Manhattan. All specialty restaurants were worth the up-charge!

I am tired of reading about how people do not like the bathrooms, because of the plumbing layout the rooms feel larger than on other ships. This was our second cruise on Epic, we chose this because of the ship.

Room was the best we've ever had, we were 10 steps from the spa, and we went every day!
Ship tip
Make as many reservations as you can before you go, you can always change them once on board. We reserved all dinning and most shows before we left home.
I love the epic great ship, love the beautiful design. I didn’t realize it was an unusual design to the bathrooms until I started reading the negative reviews after I got home. I have done the solo cabin and the balcony. The thermal spa is absolutely amazing and worth every penny.
I agree with your bathroom assessment. As a solo traveller, I like the layout. The ability to use the facility while someone is showering would seem to be a plus. I guess it's ok for married couples or solo travellers. I can see how it can be problematic if I were sharing the space with someone other than a spouse with no where private to change or dress.
