Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The dining rooms varied. The carb cake in Ocean Blue had broken shells. The fried fish plate had no taste to it. The potatoes ar Cagney were not cooked. The head waiter in the Manhattan room always came over to great us and asked it there was anything he could do. We don’t eat pork but many if not all options had pork or bacon and they could not substitute.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were a lot of repeat entertainers that were C call at best. Getting reservations were a chore and they told us we were in the wrong lines. For trivia and other games, the room was too small.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
See above. The production shows were top notched. Some of the performers were repeated a number of times and were C class entertainers.

Children's Programs

No children with us

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Many of the staff could not address the issues on board. Our cabin floor was wet for 5 days due to a toilet leak. There was sewage water coming from the toilet. The mini refrigerator did not work and I needed it for my medication. The air conditioner/heater did not work properly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was in good shape but showing its age. The elevators skipped floors. The public bathrooms were closed for maintenance repeatedly.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Once the issues mentioned above were corrected, the cabin was ok. The clothes closet was one of the smallest and the TV was out dated.

Ship tip

Be overly patient. They are now understaff and it takes a long time to get issues resolved

Ports of call

New York, New York

We are platinum but we’re moved from line to line during embarkation since we were told repeatedly that we were in the wrong line.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

The glass bottom boat tout was good.

Ponta Delgada, Azores

Our shore excursion was cancelled. The options offered was not good.

Lisbon, Portugal

We arrived late and left early. Just walked around the town but time was too short to enjoy

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

Had a good tour with Spanish Day Touts

Malaga, Spain

The hop on hop off bus was a joke. It was shared by 3 large boats. Once off it was hard to get back on due to limited seating for the number of boats.

Valencia, Spain

The our was good.

Barcelona, Spain

Took the Monstrat tour. Had to wait a long time for the tour guide to get the tickets and waisted more time to waiting to sample the wine. We were suppose to have free time to look around but that did dot happen

Cannes, France

4 out of 5
Luckily we are Platinum and did not have a long wait for a tender. Others had to wait hours. They only ran 4 tenders, too few for such a large ship. Had a good time walking around town.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

1 out of 5
The shuttle to the city was too expensive and the wait was too long.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
There were tow buses to town. NCL pushed the paid shuttle. We took the free shuttle and walked a few minutes to the location of the other bus.
