Nice potential cruise and some disappointments by philliplowe

I was disappointed with this cruise for several reasons: 1) The change of port from Stockholm to Nynashamn was a huge waste of time. We spent 3-1/2 hours traveling by train back-and-forth to Stockholm. 2) A few items in the work didn't work, and require multiple phone calls. 3) Many times, the house keeping desk would not answer calls; 3) The Russia St. Petersburg's clearance was horrible, waiting two hours in lines to be cleared. VISA is absolutely required, but was told to us. Thus we can only use the ultra-expensive excursion trip offered by NCL.

Kind of upset not a happy cruiser. by antos4less

I loved the ship I gad been on it for it's inauguration in Miami. I was very disappointed at some things on the ship. First my luggage was lost for apprx. 3 hours after embarkation my luggage was opened and it was really a mess. On the 2nd or 3rd day I reported a bracelet that I had lost and was never able to find it. I went to customer service and made a Report I received a call from security in which I reported mtself to CS and no one was tbere at the time. They had asked me to go at times were I was always out on excursions and I couldn't leave because I would have lost my money for the excursions. Very disappointed I never expected this from NCL. I recommend this trip to 13 of my friends and they were all very upset about everything. You need to get your act together because without US the cruisers you wouldn't exist. My room Steward Paul was amazing he was the best thing that happen to me and your shows were great but the rest you need some improvement asap. It was a very bad experience on my part and my group of 13. I hope you read this and give me some explanation. Heydee Zamora #13649

You get what you pay for (oh, so true!) And you don't pay a lot so you end up paying for bad food and then being nickle and dimed to death. by evagoblog

If all you want is a cheap place to stay with endless food while visiting ports this is the ship for you. Do not judge though cruiseship experiences by this one, however, quality of food, service etc. If you want a cruise ship experience that you pampered a bit don't go to the Haven which is the section of the ship where you can get a classic cruise experience, room service, quiet private areas etc. and about the same prices as the high end ships mentioned at the end of this sentence just go for a better ship, Holland, Celebrity, Cunard not quite as expensive as the high end Seaboune, Azmara, Regent 7 Seas, but more have more traditional high end tour.

Good transatlantic cruise by steveplus4

The ship was heading into drydock after our cruise and the crews on the ship were grinding and painting while we were cruising. The noise was irritating and impacted the relaxation we hoped to get from the cruise. Often the grinding and noise would start at 8 am. If NCL really wants to provide a good vacation experience they should discontinue this practice.

The price of WiFi was outrageous and the whole TV 6 channel 3 of them news with today technology more Channel should be available and get off to the ship in New York was a disaster go by color not we were lime 8:30 - 9:00 but there where colors in front that weren't supposed to be there until later! The room wasn't clean that good the gentleman didn't even talk to us for pay $400 the services was terrible! My family would try a different cruise line in the future!

Bahama Cruise by dlakern1

Love the freestyle dining and being able to make advance reservations for specialty dining....bartenders always very attentive..never waited too long for service. The menu for all restaurants should be available either in the room or on TV..first night missed out on Easter dinner because we weren't aware of what was being served at each location and was not familiar with location of all restaurants as yet.

Relaxing by mcrooks500

My cruise overall was very good, I met 2 staff members from my home country, I felt good meeting the executive chef (was my brother's math student in high school), and the executive housekeeper also family friend. I enjoyed the free style dining very much, and I also enjoyed not having waiters in my face on deck forcing me to purchase drinks like on some other ships. I'm an occasional drinker so when someone keep asking you every 15 min if you are ready for that drink is very annoying, so this was very good.

Overall, it was an "okay" cruise. We always make the best of our situation. We have fun together. Given the issues we ran into on the ship, I will say it left me wanting more and expecting more out of NCL.

Had a very much needed break and loved that we didn't have to take a plane and then board the ship. Hassle free and great! It was relaxing and much more than what I expected.

Cruise should have been excellent but it wasn't. the excursions on port canaveral were cancelled; we did not sop at great stirrup and we did not get compensated at all. the onboard cruise specialist was not helpful and seemed very bored at doing his job by tdbohan

I am not sure if my husband and I would sail again on ncl as the cruise consultant should have been much more helpful. we should have been compensated for the ship excursions being cancelled and not being able to go the private island.

Not sure I would cruise with Norwegian again. It's too bad, have seen Discovery Channel shows and many trailers for the Breakaway but once on board, it did not impress me.

Had a great time but NYC embarkation in winter was not my best idea!! by CarolineYS

I'm sure this cruise would be a completely different experience in spring or summer. Next time, winter departure from FL and go more south! First time on NCL and overall a good experience with the kids and large group we were travelling with. Beverage package well worth it! Price point was a great value and overall a good time!

Terribly disappointing by SaraJaneGage

We were scheduled to leave at 3PM however due to the insane wind that continued the entire week and resulted in cold, windy weather and inability to dock at port one day, we were unable to leave until 8PM. This then resulted in us arriving to FL late and only having a few short hours in the late afternoon to enjoy Port Canaveral. The wind was so bad, we were unable to dock at Great Stirrup Cay at all and when we docked at Nassau, it was windy and cold. If leaving from NY during the colder months, plan on losing out on nice weather automatically for 4 days (2 days down coast, 2 days back, all 4 days brisk and cold, reminding you your headed back to NE!) With such poor weather, many of the onboard amenities were unavailable through the majority of the week including several pools and hot tubs at various times, the rock climbing wall, mini golf, sun decks, and the ropes course through most of the week. While the weather could not be controlled, you would hope the things that could be would be great. The customer service was awful and minimally existent. (We had 3 staff people the entire week who were polite and helpful: Wyvon, our amazing stateroom steward/ housekeeper, Sveltlana at the Mandara Spa, and a waitress at O Sheehans whose name I cannot recall, but want to say Rosalie.) We waited irrationally long for meals and beverages, things were often forgotten, wait staff didn't return to check on you or see if you needed anything else, and the spa masseurs try to upsell you so aggressively that it makes you regret getting a massage.

I picked this cruise this year because it fell perfectly with my sons school break but this year was a major wake up call that maybe NCL is not for us...we'll be looking elsewhere for our future endeavors
