We were very disappointed in many of the things we experienced on this cruise. We do give them credit for having hand scooped ice cream and a great pool and slide area. The kids loved the ropes course.

They have this done well and in good order.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main rooms: The only beef on the menu was the NY strip available every night. The ones we got were tough. No shrimp cocktails, no lobster, no prime rib, no baked potatoes. It took at least two hours for every evening meal to be complete. Some servers were great, some poor. We were super frustrated that we couldn't get reservations in these restaurants, even though we were assured by a Marte de that we could.
Onboard Activities

The pools and slides were nice. A lot of activities were scheduled in the Atrium which is way too small for the number of people who wanted to see or participate. This resulted in people getting seats and just staying there waiting for the event they were interested in. Then after an event got started people would walk in and stand in front of those seated. No one the crew would say anything, so it was up to those who could no longer see to ask those standing to move. Maybe they would but most of the time it was a scowl and a refusal.
Entertainment

The comedians were terrible. The two shows were poor. Things were repeated throughout the week so some nights, unless you wanted to set in a bar and listen to music (and be bugged every five minutes to buy a drink) there was nothing scheduled.
Children's Programs

The attendants at the kid's club were obviously trying to do as little as possible. Many of the events consisted of the kids playing video games, with one attendant supervising while the others stood at the counter downstairs and chatted with each other. There was no consistency in procedure. I was sometimes asked for my card, then immediately asked what room I was in? Huh, scan the card and find out. But that would involve effort. So why bother to ask for the card?
Service and Staff

The housekeeping crew did a great job. Dining room, you got what you got. There was a lot of pandering to "The Haven" guests.
Ship Quality

It was fine. Easy to get around. Decently clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was small but that was expected. Super surprised that it could accommodate four, but the closet and storage was tiny.
A beautiful, historic larger Canadian town. We booked a Harbor Hopper tour directly through the company. Fantastic tour loaded with fun and lots less expensive than that offered by NCL.
I have been on the Breakaway several times. Always nice trips and good memories. It will go into dry dock soon. Some refurbishment is needed. I think the pool deck is the worst deck on this ship.
