Honeymoon/bday cruise by Roberta4life

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

At first, I was upset because I requested a table for 2 for dinner at booking, was told i would get it, ended in a table with 4 other people. On the 4th night, headwaiter gave us a new table. I also told the agent that im crusing due to our honeymoon and my birthday, i didnt even get a card in the room to show that the request was recognized. Beside that, the trip was ok. The ship was a little older than what I'm used to. But overall, great trip. Friendly staff

Pros: awesome entertainment and shows...

Cons: got tired of the food. Buffet cafe had a lot of food and same food everyday except taco and nachos night.

Navigator - April 2016 by corkey5259

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise on NOS but our 15th or so cruise with RCCL.  I could not find one thing wrong from the time we stepped on her to our last step off 8 days later.  Food was very good in the windjammer and MDR as well as Chops and Giovanni's.  We never encountered a less than professional staff member.  The shows were a very nice selection and Dave Curtis in the Schooner Bar was A++.  I would rank this vacation a 10 out of 10 without hesitation.

Great experience cruising on Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas by leeong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Excellent service in the dining rooms and state rooms, very clean facilities. Fascinating entertainment. Excellent offshore excursions. Unfortunately, experienced gastrointestinal problem one day before disembarking probably due to food intolerance. Embarking and disembarking went very smooth.

Navigator of the Seas review by 423rosebud

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was great as were the staff.  My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the shows.  Our room was nice but the shower in the bathroom could have been bigger.  The food was okay; we didn't starve, that's for sure.  The islands we stopped at were nice but I could have done without the aggressive behavior of people trying to sell us services or merchandise.  We would definitely go back on this ship again.

It was a beautiful ship and clean the entire trip.Staff was friendly. It did not feel like 3000 people were aboard. Did not have to wait long for anything. The dining room staff and the food was excellent.

so so entertainment by embeerman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

we have sailed on princess, carnival ,but mostly on  royal Caribbean.

my parents were celebrating their 60 wedding anniversary. the food and service was great. the entertainment was fair . we loved the  illusion show, beetles , piano man, but the regular navigator of the seas entertainment dancers and singers were below my expectations. they were a step down compared to other royal Caribbean shows.

if you have the money go to a better class of ship.

First cruise, right choice by IllBeBack

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Navigator of the Seas is a beautiful ship, clean and well maintained. The crew, from cabin attendant to dining room staff to bartenders were friendly and eager to please. Food excellent in the main dining room and certainly adequate and plentiful in Windjammer Café. I couldn't believe the variety and quality of evening entertainment in the theatre and ice rink (included in the cruise package, so no surcharge). I didn't do any of the adventure stuff like FlowRyder or Rock Wall, but the folks who were doing it seemed to be having a blast. Excursions at San Juan, St. Kitts and St. Maarten gave a taste of those destinations and went like clockwork. I found Royal Caribbean to be very professional, well organized and supportive, and just the right balance between dignified and casual. It is certainly family-friendly. For a first-timer, I found the website www.royalcaribbeanblog.com to be very helpful in providing independent information and answering questions.

Great ship! great itinerary! by debbie934

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It was a great ship with lots to do! Loved the ports we went to. Food was good.

Only negative we could've used a new mattress. My husbands side was so dented down in the middle. Don't know how he did it , my back would've ached.

Happy

Excellent first cruise experience! by Cruiser303

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our very first cruise. We were on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas. We were immediately impressed with the ship upon entry. The decor was beautiful, the entertainment shows were awesome and the food in the dining room and the service there was excellent! The food in the Windjammer cafe was good, there were a ton of choices. Our stateroom with balcony was perfect, decent size and was nice to order breakfast room service and eat out on our balcony watching the sunrise! The destinations were great (Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Haiti), had an excellent time seeing different places and such amazing blue water! Overall the ship was pretty neat and tidy, the crew obviously works hard to keep it ship-shape!

Can there be too much sunshine? by wanderwoman424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Three ports I'd never been to - and two sea days. Practically the perfect cruise!

We did a local 2 hr tour instead of a ship excursion. Saw enough of George Town to be able to get around on our own next time. Falmouth, Jamaica, was interesting in that the cruise lines seem to have reconstructed or revived  what had been a port, adding a very picturesque craft market. I think I also saw free wifi spots. too. The best by far was the private area of Haiti (Labadee). It was like something out of a tropical movie: gorgeous beaches, snorkeling, jet skis, lots of shade as well as lots of clean sand beach. It was nice to be able to eat lunch at the beach (free), without having to return to the ship. As for the food, I was happy to see lobster tails on the menu again.

I don't usually go to the evening entertainment, but the illusionist was superb!

Amazing Experience by BBird66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything about our first cruise experience was amazing. We had a wonderful time: the ship, staff, service, food, cabin, balcony, entertainment, ports and even the weather - all perfect! The only issue on the ship was the lack of soda machines for the unlimited soda package - there were 2 in the Windjammer Cafe that were regular soda dispensers, no ice and unavailable when the Cafe was closed. I don't drink much soda myself but I can imagine it was quite disappointing for those who do. If you are going to eat at RCI's lunch buffet on Labadee, get in line early as there were many who went without.

Will not cruise Royal again. by tamnikmt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I read reviews before I went. Overall the reason I would not go again is the food. It was that bad. We did three specialty restraunts. Giovanis was awesome, best meal of the trip. Chops was ok but the service was terrible, the reviews were great so I we were disappointed. Izumis again was ok but they charge regular prices, seventeen dollars a roll is a lot to pay on a ship. We went on our last day for lunch and the service was great and they even made me a cucumber roll which wasn't on the menu. Went again for dinner that night and it was not good. we tried the hot rocks and it was really bad. small portions and you cook it. What! The service was not good at all, slow with a side of attitude. The Windjammer was just bad all around. The food was the same every single day which wouldnt have been all that bad if it was any good but it was not. Tons of carbs and very little protein. All the protein dishes made were made stew style or as with the fish lathered in some type of sauce. I stuck with salad but even they lacked. Three types of lettuce, tomotes, cucumbers, raisins, sun flower seeds. No proteinat all like hard bolied eggs, mini shrimp, or even some type of shrimp or crab salad. The dressing were thin and tasteless. if you go to the corner you might find thevinegar and oil. Really really bad. By day three we just stopped going. We did My Time dining and had Elvis. He was awesome, polite, friendly, and great service. Food was good. We had an issue as we were there the first night had a great window table then had specialty then back. I had tried to reserve a window when we first got on the ship and was told at my time its first come first serve. When we went back we wanted Elvis and asked for our table (502) and we were told they were reserved. What? After being seated and watched the table sit empty for the next 20 minutes I was not happy. The manager finally came over and said we should have gotten the table, they don't reserve my time, and if you ask and its empty then its yours. We sat there the next time no problem. Again, Elvis is awesome.

Our favorite place was schooners. The service is great, Eugena was funny as heck as was the other bartenders. They definitly got an extra tip and deserved it. Loved playing thetrivia games there and staff that put them on. Really fun.

Not much other entertainment and they would have something at 1 then not again until 4. So it would have been nice to have more inside activities. Also I would have like some consistency like the piano man play every night from 8 to 9. Instead you never knew what was going on until the compass came out. They need a weekly version so you can plan for the week what you plan on doing. The ice show was good, comedy was good.

Pools were crowded except for port days but we always found a chair. Maybe it was a distance from the pools but we found them. Go to the flowrider Jonney rocket area for nice quiet chair space.

Our room was great as was our state attendant. He worked really really hard. We had a junior suite and if you can pay the extra and enjoy. It was worth it for us. We are older and the walk in closet and tub in the large bathroom, large balcony was a dream. We had 9280 but I would stronly suggest getting on the port side. They had land views the whole trip, lesson learned.

Embarkation was easy not too much wait time. Waited almost an hour to exit the ship standing in line to get off. They never say why or give you any information which I find fustrating and unprofessional.

So to sum this up let me say it was OK. I dont think I would do Royal again because the food was that bad and my understanding from reading other reviews its pretty much the same on all the ships. They may be trying to save money by serving what they do but I think in the end they will actualy lose money because people will just stop cruising on the ships.

Good luck and read the reviews before you book!

A lot of people got a respiratory illness by maggycole

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ports were the best. The dining room service - Oliver in particular was awesome. But after the first night's sleep, I had trouble breathing and developed a cough. Over the course of the cruise I noticed a lot of people with the same cough and, at my table of 10, 4 of us were sick by the end of the cruise. I believe there is mold in the cabins or something in the ventilation system that needs to be addressed. I am not allergic or asthmatic but that first morning I had to go to the infirmary to get benadryl to help with breathing. I have been on many cruises with Carnival and Princess but this was my first experience with Royal Caribbean. I would not sail on this ship or another Royal Caribbean ship again. The doctor and the infirmary were not helpful - actually - very unhelpful. They turned me away because it was not "office hours" even though I was having trouble breathing and when I returned later in distress, would not even speak with me unless I would sit in a specific chair and sign an agreement to pay them $300! All I wanted was some Benadryl and I needed quarters to go in their machine. They were simply awful. Finally, a passing staff member helped me get what I needed and after the Benadryl took effect I could breathe again. With a ship of this size, you need to have a medical person on duty at all times - willing to speak to a passenger to find out what they need. Their behavior was simply unacceptable. Thank you for asking for my feedback. All the best! Nancy Zimmerman. By the way, my boyfriend and I are still sick with a respiratory illness. We will both see a doctor this week. Nancy Zimmerman

Great fun with relaxation by ritamaye

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The shows were professional. The food was delicious. The staff was very helpful and attentive. We had a very relaxing couples' deep tissue massage in the spa on the day we docked in Falmouth. Didn't want it to stop.

Good Ship with okay food and terrible bar service by sbennett1111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was great. The promenade deck was awesome and there was plenty to do. There needed to be an adults only area. They said the solarium was for adults but it was not enforced. Now for the bad: The food was the worst I have ever experienced on a cruise. Most of us did not finish our meals in the dining room. They introduced the other restaurants that you have to pay a minimum of 25 per person a meal and let all other food go way down hill. The Captains Diner was terrible. The worst thing on the ship was bar service. The servers were great but there just was not enough of them. We waited 15min per drink (non-alcoholic or alcoholic) and sometimes up to 45min at a bar. We would not get our drinks at diner sometimes until our main course had arrived. Again, this is not on the servers themselves it was just a lack of them or the management of them. They worked hard and were very gracious.

Plenty to do, plenty to eat, plenty to drink!  The staff were all friendly and helpful!  Was happy that the BBQ on Labadee was included - and the beverage package was also honored on the island!

Unexplained additional charges/ Poor food selections/ Need mixed music by missshaundra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The overall cruise was amazing. the reason it didn't  get an excellent because once home I had over $150 in additional charges on my card. I also felt there was an not enough mix of different genres of music. it seems there was a lot of catering to the latin population on the cruise. The group a traveled with were vegetarians and there fool selection was very poor.

Fun Cruise by NY2016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Food in the buffet line and entertainment could have been better but overall it was really fun.  Our cabin attendant Mr. Modelo was awesome.  We never see him cleaning up but everytime we came back to our room, the room is cleaned and tidy.  Our server Jerica was great too. On the two days that we didn't get her to be our server, dining took 1 1/2 hours. With Jerica, it was under 1 hour.  By the end of the cruise we specifically asked for her.  We enjoyed Grand Cayman and Labadee but Jamaica was only so so.  Unlike Grand Cayman, we didn't feel comfortable going too far from the ship.
