Western Caribbean Cruise Nov 2017 by abarrett7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Liberty of the Seas was a beautiful ship, well maintained and clean. Dining was lacking unless you want to visit a specialty restaurant and pay the extra fees. There are hidden gems on the ship including Johnny Rockets on deck 12. A big disappointment was the entertainment, make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes early for a show or you will not get to see the show. I was surprised to see beverage stations set up only on deck 5. If you're at the pool for the day, you must get dressed to go for a hike to get a drink unless you want alcohol from the bar. Lots of activities for children. Will sail again soon with daughter to take advantage of children services onboard. All ports were beautiful as usual.

Unbelievable experience by laketimeretreat

Was a great cruise. Went on Carnival last March and thought nothing could beat it. Went with Royal Carribean this time and decided without question this is the line for future cruises.

Wonderful Family Cruise by shawnsederholm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We cruised with 5 of our children and their spouses and 5 of our grandchildren. It was the perfect family vacation. The staff were wonderful with our grandchildren, especially in the restaurants. Their were many family friendly activities that we did as a large group and loved it. We can't wait for our next crusie.

Liberty of the Sea by dball77777

Fifth cruise we have taken but the first with Royal Caribbean and we totally rate this as the best. Not only in food, but everything else. There is nothing I could recommend to improve. The food was beyond belief especially on buffet.

Best vacation ever!!! by kmhuffman586

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I took my 3 boys on an amazing vacation. They range in age from 6 to 14 years old. There was so much for all of us! The older two spent most of their time in the arcade or enjoying the teen activities. My youngest begged me to keep taking him back to the kids club. I relaxed with a good book!

Wonderful and wet cruise by kimberlyhill7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful vacation. It was cheaper for us to drive to Galveston then to fly to other ports. Not sure we will cruise from this port again as it is a very tired port and people seem not as friendly. Many of the other cruisers were very rude, especially around the buffet which we've not encountered on our other cruises. Unfortunately it rained and stormed 4 of the 7 days of our cruise but all in all it was a nice vacation and time away from real life.

A Relaxing Vacation by chieftom1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a smooth and relaxing cruise. The weather did NOT cooperate with us as we had rain all but one day. This cruise, as with any cruise , is what you make of it. You can relax around the ship and enjoy the quiet and peace of the pool decks or sleep in. The food was good but it is not like moms, LOL. The entertainment was good and for the kids there are loads of things for them to do.

Great by white1610

At our age, the planned activities do not fit. We would like a Bridge organizer, someone to teach in the morning, and oversee playing in the afternoon.

We had a nice time on our cruise with friends. We enjoyed the food in the dining room. I had a relaxing time in the spa. Our steward was the best and he really took care of our family.

Wonderful cruise but I had to sleep on the floor! by meledee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I wish I did not have to sleep on the floor but I guess Royal Carribean is okay with having their guests sleep on the floor. There would have not been room enough for a pull away bed.

not what I expected by joechambers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

plan ahead because by the time we figured things out it was time to go home. I thought we had a good understanding but I was wrong. Do not take alchohol with you because it will get confiscated and not returned till the last night of the cruise around 11:45 pm. then you have to declare it and pay taxes

Amazing Oct 1 Cruise by loreleinash

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Cruise was great, even if we did not get off at Cozumel. But the way we got off ship in Galveston, has me wondering if I ever want to do that again..... My grand children were abused, in that they were so sweaty and miserable, so were the adults! Much walking here and there, what in the world happened to the good old days... Wow that actually hurt to think about that Sunday morning!

Ok Cruise by belleric777

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ok Cruise, older ship could use alot of updates and much better de-humidification they had fans blowing everywhere. missed the best port because of weather, but that is a risk this time of year.

Not Exceptional by thebulllady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time, but we usually do! We're there to relax and enjoy the food and entertainment mostly. We spent more time in the hot tub and pool then we usually do, and really enjoyed it. Didn't make Cozumel because of the hurricane, but we've been there numerous times, so didn't mind another sea day. But I will not choose Royal again. Norwegian and Princess are my top two.

Perhaps not my worst vacation but a very close second by GJI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Code of Conduct: During my years of employment in the civilian world as well as the time I spent in the military there were always rules. Therefore I have no problem following rules. There were a number of rules that were posted on signs around the ship that, although clearly posted and in some cases in more than one language, were not followed nor were they enforced. Case in point; the Dress Code, and the lack of enforcement, I remember seeing a sign that stated that some type of cover up garment must be worn in the dining area after swimming. While I do not have a weak stomach I would prefer not to have to look at some obese person waddling through the buffet area with his large hairy gut hanging over the waistband of his ill fitted swim trunks as he approached and then the crack of his butt as he passed by. Another sign I remember seeing stated that shoes were to be worn throughout the ship; this rule also seemed to only apply to some of the passengers. You would think that this rule would be especially important in the buffet area. I believe that the Dress Code for the Formal Evenings was stated as suit and tie for men and dresses for the women, once again this seemed to be more of a suggestion rather than a rule; since many of the people in the dining room look as if they were on their way to Walmart rather than a formal dinner. Although I do not remember seeing a sign stating that children in the buffet area should be accompanied by an adult at the food serving lines, this is one rule that should be posted and enforced. On a number of occasions while dining at the Windjammer Buffet I came upon children unattended by anyone attempting to get food, or drinks on their own and leaving the food and the surrounding area a mess. Such that I bypassed that particular item and went in search of something else to eat. The cruise line could save a lot of money on sign printing since none of these rules seem to be enforced. I am not sure what my expectations were but the experience was more like being trapped in a crowded mall with no way out rather than a vacation. This was the first time my wife and I went on a cruise and I doubt that I will be signing up for another any time soon.

Wonderful first cruise. Enjoyed Junior, our cabin steward. He made us feel like we were the only ones on the ship. We had a fantastic experience. Would do it again.
