Review summary

We had a wonderful vacation. It was cheaper for us to drive to Galveston then to fly to other ports. Not sure we will cruise from this port again as it is a very tired port and people seem not as friendly. Many of the other cruisers were very rude, especially around the buffet which we've not encountered on our other cruises. Unfortunately it rained and stormed 4 of the 7 days of our cruise but all in all it was a nice vacation and time away from real life.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This ship did not offer a variety of entertainment which we were disappointed with. Several nights were ice shows and several nights were comedians. We've had much better entertainment on other ships

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This ship is exact set up as previous ships we've been on, however, this ship appeared more dated, carpets very dirty and worn.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was an excellent cabin and very clean

Ship tip

If you have my time dining, make your dinner reservations for the entire week on the first day. We've never had to do this on past cruises but when we called on day 2 to make reservation time there were only few and late options available. We found that people had already taken most of the earlier times for entire cruise.

It rained and perhaps if we'd chose a different excursion it may have been better experience. Take bug spray, sand fleas were terrible.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

We shopped, it rained

Cozumel, Mexico

We took taxi to Paradise Beach, it was the best beach/pool. This was not an excursion that was advertised by RC however, we had multiple people tell us it was a great excursion. It was our favorite of all this cruise.

We found the entertainment lacking on this cruise too. Same old thing every night. This surprised me as all the other cruises I have been on had something going on all the time. We had a junior suite and our room was awesome. I think so much rain might have made for grumpier guests. I know I was a little disappointed with the weather. Not the trip I envisioned but my fiancé and I made the most of our week away from work.

Since moving to TX, I've found most Texans warm and in inviting. Maybe you just met a few grumpy people.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience.....which cruise line did you travel on? We have cruised from there about 5 times and almost always met the nicest people....God Bless!!!

While I didn't find a lot of friendly people in the greater Houston area, once on a ship my fellow cruisers, many from TX were very friendly. Sorry you missed out.
