A Grand Experience by ACruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The ship was fantastic. Simple and easy to get around but with classy and refined elegance. Yes, they did have some major plumbing/smell issues initialy, but I guess we got lucky that it didn't bother us once the toilets were fixed after the first days.

Customer Service was great. Very helpful with many areas..Had five telephone charges charged to our room, They took care of it. Didn't reach ship until third stop. Was refunded extra funds for gratuties and others. We would take this ship again, but under different circumstances.

Another grand experience with RC. by CoraHicks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Balcony staterooms had been remodeled and were very comfortable. As always the ship was very clean, staff exceptional and food plentyful. We did three evenings in the specialty restaurants and found them all to be amazing. Fabulous food of 5 star quality and service!!! Fabulous ports to visit and as always entry and exit to the ship were very organized as well as exit and entry to each port. RC always handles the details with exceptional quality. I highly recommend you travel RC:-)

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We had wonderful adventures seeing many fantastic ruins. Last year we took a bus trip through Europe having to repack our luggage every day. On the ship you only have to unpack once. Everything was very smooth and we had wonderful food always.

A classics-lovers dream by InnaK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was my third cruise and by far the best. The ship was large and there were many different areas and activities--a fitness center, an outdoor track, a rock climbing wall, though the pools did leave something to be desired. The ship was clean and the crew was very friendly. As for food--the main dining room staff was terrific and incredibly accommodating. I have certain dietary restrictions (gluten) and I was excited to see that the menu marked which items were gluten-free, but this turned out to be not always correct. So if you have lactose/gluten issues, just make sure to ask your waiter and I'm sure they'll help you out. The buffet was also good and I was able to ask the staff there questions about the food. When those were closed, the ship had a cafe with satisfactory food options. Otherwise, all food had to be paid for. The reason I chose this cruise was due to its ports-of-call. As a classicist, I was eager for stops in Athens, Ephesus (port is called Kusadasi), and Mykonos (from which a ferry can be taken to Delos). It was great to go to these places and I took the ship's organized excursion at Ephesus which was pretty good. The other ports were also excellent--especially Santorini. All the stops were unforgettable experiences (except Bodrum, which was so-so).

I loved the size of the ship. It was beautifully decorated, cabins were comfortable, and public areas never felt crowded.

Stupendous Experience! by DrJ2

The experience was marvelous. The ports of call were varied and the excursions booked through the RCI were good, though, as is customary, overpriced. The Staff, especially Madgdalena and Ravi were exceptional

BEAUTIFUL PORTS by LindaL18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Grandeur of the Seas was the right size...not too big and not too small. The Chef's Table was a wonderful surprise and the best night. The waiter staff, the cabin staff and customer service were helpful and hard working. We were upgraded to a balcony and our room was magnifient. Bingo was fun, the dancing classes were amazing and the excursions were run very organized.

Grandeur Still Needs Help After Drydock by LarryB6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We were expecting a pristine ship having just come out of dry dock and a refurb just two weeks before, but walking the promenade deck, rust was everywhere, windows needed replacing as they were fogged up and it didn't look "refurbed" at all from the outside. The rooms however were obviously re-done and they looked better. Flat screen TV's and information monitors near the elevators were a nice touch as was the centrum shows. The addition of specialty dining was also nice except for CHOPS. There the noise from the centrum made dining not so enjoyable.

Beware--no English Spoken by KathyG4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was only the second trip with this itinerary and the crew was trying to adjust to a totally diffierent type of clientele. Unless you are familiar with the Latin culture, I would not recommend this cruise. NO mention was made prior to the cruise that this was for Spanish speaking people. Very little English was spoken. The life raft drill was totally in Spanish, all music was Latin and the people on the cruise were rude, very vocal and would run you over if you got in their way. The crew and captin did try to make some special accomodiations for the 132 Americans on the ship once they realized none of us knew this was not an English speaking cruise.

Great Staff, Enjoyable Cruise by ShaylaW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The price we paid for a Transatlantic cruise was a bargain. The staff made up for the ship's age and lack of ammenities. Overall, our two weeks aboard the ship moved rapidly. We ddin't want to leave!

Great food & Excellent customer service by AndrewC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my third cruise and was the best I have been on so far. The interior stateroom was very clean and had enough room for two people. The stateroom attendant anticipated our needs. If we were heading out to the gym, he had two glasses of ice water, and extra towels waiting for us upon return to the cabin. Every crew member on the ship went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. It was some of the best customer service I have ever encountered anywhere. The food was excellent and always available. We are non smokers and are very sensitive to the awful odor. The only part of the ship that reeked of cigarette smoke was the casino. There were no hidden charges at any point during the cruise. The only complaint we had was the entertainment. It was geared to the 60+ crowd and the Spanish crowd. We are in our late thirties and found it very boring. Some of the elderly people we talked to liked it. The disco played way too much Spanish hip-hop music. According to the itinerary, there was supposed to be a 70s disco music night, it did not occur. We tried the disco three nights, each time we left the disco after a straight hour of Latin hip hop music.
