Pleasant cruise by liladams

I enjoyed the cruise. Although our cabin reflected wear and tear it appeared to be clean. Our cabin steward was excellent, friendly and professional. The food was plentiful and excellent. The wait staff at each meal were friendly, pleasant and attentive.

Grandeur has gone downhill by jes68

This is the first cruise where we chose not to dine in the Main dining room because the service in the Main dining room was so poor, and the quality of the food was no better than the buffet, and the menu selections repeated through the entire cruise, with only a couple of different selections each day. It was clear they designed the dining room food and service to be substandard in order to compel people to upgrade to the specialty dining. Never have I seen so much pushing for cruise passengers to pay extra in order to get better service. Strangely, when we tried the buffet for dinner, it had the same featured menu item as the Main dining room, but the service staff in the Windjammer buffet was worlds better than the servers in the Main dining room. Park Cafe was also an excellent option for good quality food. We were also disappointed with the entertainment which ranged from bad (comedian) to mediocre (production shows). The main attraction (Bermuda) was wonderful - people are friendly and you feel safe. Royal Caribbean splits up the 25 hr visit among two partial days - go off the ship and get a Ferry, Cab, or minibus to see Bermuda - don't overpay Royal Caribbean for a shore tour. Nothing is too far away to see in an afternoon or morning, but be advised that most shops close around 5:00 and the last ferry out of St George is 5:30.

fun with family and friends. wheelchair access okay but not the best. by imbest222

Overall the cruise was fun, we had over a dozen people with us. Lots of activities and most of the food was good. we ate mostly in the buffet. Always seemed a bit strange that the mashed potatoes were always on the opposite side of the buffet as the gravy. Chicken and pork medallions were to dry to eat. The rest of the food however was very good and there was always a great variety. Our cabin was a good size to accommodate 2 power wheel chairs. Beds were comfortable. There were a few access areas in the bathroom. I could not shower since my wheelchair could not get next to the shower bench. The toilet was too low to transfer to (had to mostly use the public ones which were fine). Our steward did supply a riser for the toilet seat but we could not secure it enough to be safe for use. The balcony had a 4 or 5 inch barrier that had little 8 inch ramps on each side forming nothing more than a speed bump. I could not use the lovely balcony we paid for. still the positives were more than the negatives in our cabin.

Bermudaful Cruise by mmich021

This was my first cruise and it was pretty good. There was a lot of kids unsupervised by parents, it was not enforced by employees (especially near bars and pool areas). I wish there were more options for young adults and more time spent in Bermuda. We arrived early getting to Bermuda and getting back. Also the prices were very expensive for drinks that could have been fixed . The nightlife was okay as well. Overall it was a good cruise but there could be more things for young adults or the young crowd. The food was always amazing! Excursions were well worth it but pricey, I was surprised on how organized it was.

If you haven't cruise before you should definitely try it! This was my 3rd cruise and the number 1 statement I tell my friends is "you can do everything or nothing" whatever pleases you. Take the family, spouse, of friends something to do and entertain for everyone of all ages.

The weather was cold and raining for most of days. Lots of fog, but since I had not planned to get off the ship I was fine. I already have another cruise schedule for September.

My springcruise fling... by excellentlife61

Our waiter (Kameika) and her assistant (Elmar) were fabulous!! They were so good, I'd hire them to work for me anytime. The Rosario duo, violin and guitar duo, were phenomenal! They were extremely well-accomplished musician and I took time to hear them whenever they played. Likewise, the Ukrainian quartet was very good (forget their name). Overall, this was a fantastic cruise. Oh, and I don't want to forget the pianist, Mr. H; enjoyed talking to him and further enjoyed his playing. All in all, some of the best musicians I've heard on any ship; and as a musician myself, truly enjoyed the talent. I'd take this exact cruise again; if any special deals come up affording said opportunity, please advise me. Richard H. King

Not bad for our first cruise. by gtmathis

This was our first cruise experience. The entertainment was great. The staff is awesome! But I would have preferred to have more things to do on the boat. It does have a generally older crowd but we did not mind that. But you do need to offer a few things that a younger crowd might enjoy.

Great Trip Except for Weather by zipsclassyskip

This was a great cruise for the most part. Weather was about the only issue we had and no one can control that. We hit VERY bad weather on the way out on Sunday (1st full day). We were very sick on Sunday even with patches and Sea Bands. There were many people sick, including some crew members. The rough seas lasted all day Sunday and all the outside decks were closed due to the weather. Coming back, we hit another storm on Wednesday morning, but it cleared off in the afternoon. Then total fog Wednesday evening. So we didn't get to see much coming and going to Bermuda, but the weather was nearly perfect while in port. Horseshoe Bay Beach is a must see and we also enjoyed our visit to the BAMZ - The Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo. We did have an issue the first night with our Main Dining Room table. We stood in line for 15 mins and were told to go to the other door. Stood in line for 15 mins and were told to go up to the Maitre d on the 5th deck. Stood in line for another 15 mins (45 mins total by this time). Even though we signed up for 5:30 dining and our SeaPass said 5:30 Dining, the computer has us as My Time Dining. Several people behind us in line were having the same issue. The Maitre d seated us and 4 other couples/traveling companions at the same table and designated the table for all of us for 5:30 dining the remainder of the trip. Our Cabin Stewart, Rami (sp?) did an awesome job of keeping our cabin in tip top shape. Kim and Shereen, our waiters in the Main Dining Room, also did an awesome job. My friend was too sick to go to dinner on Sunday evening and as soon as I walked in without her (only our 2nd night aboard), Kim immediately asked where she was. When I told Kim my friend was seasick, she said she would have a special plate prepared for her when I was ready to go back to the cabin. The food worked wonders. The next night, Kim immediately asked my friend if she was feeling better. Shereen attended to our every need as well. The food on Grandeur is out of this world. Mike, the Cruise Director, is hysterical - especially his impressions of Capt. Thor. The Cruise Director staff worked very hard the entire cruise (did they ever sleep?), as did everyone on the entire crew.
