Was very disappointed that we wasn't contacted about the cruise being rerouted because of a storm. The storm was in that location since June 15 and cruiseline knew of the storm since then I'm pretty sure. Very disappointed we wasn't contacted to cancel.

Review summary

Disappointed cruiseline waited until we board the ship to let us know we were being rerouted to Nassau,Bahamas. Was my honeymoon and would have rescheduled if told earlier in the week.

Wow to think that they could not predict the weather earlier as to not inconvenience you

Sorry you were unable to visit a specific port; however, at least you are safe. As others stated, these things happen and can be without much notice. At least you were on a ship with activities rather than a plane sitting on a tarmac, or diverted and left on your own.

somebody didn't read their cruise contract. yep... YOU

Wow. If they cancelled because of the storm why do you think you would get there on another ship. It’s for your own protection they canceled. Any cruise line can cancel what ports they are going to without letting you know before hand. Sometimes they don’t know until the last minute.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experience during hurricane season

Decisions like this can be very last minute as storms are tracked every minute when they come through. As they are unpredictable.

As previously mentioned, do not travel the Caribbean during hurricane season.

All cruise lines wait until 6-36 hours prior to a major storm as confirmed to hit a port of call before changing the itinerary. If a particular port is very important to your vacation then a cruise is not the way to get there, it would be better to fly-in direct to that location.

Sorry you were unaware that cruise ships, if able, reroute around hurricanes. If days are lost then refunds / future cruise credit may be offered. If just the itinerary is changed then your vacation is saved as opposed to riding out a storm on one island i.e., Jamaica. Tip for future cruises, AVOID the Caribbean during hurricane season.
