Review summary

Awesome Crew, OK Suites, Marginal Food in Main Dining. Leave your kids at home and stick to the Windjammer for dining and Solarium for the pool.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting aboard was fast and easy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food in the Main Dining was a disappointment, not up to the standards set on other Royal Caribbean ships. Entrée portions were small and generally did not taste great. I should have just eaten at the Windjammer all 5 nights, as the food options there were better overall. (1-star for the MDR, 4 stars for Windjammer.)

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool on this ship is small, kid activities are very limited. But the staff did the best they could organizing events where they could given the ships physical limitations.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The crew providing entertainment on this cruise exceeded expectations.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
The kids club area was very small with only a few activities, and the arcade had only a couple games.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew on this ship were all fantastic, very friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Cleanliness was very good to excellent, but the ship design shows its age and was very limiting.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Small for a Junior Suite, but great the bathroom fixtures all worked well, and the air conditioning was exceptional.

Ship tip

Leave your kids at home and stick to the Windjammer for dining and Solarium for the pool.

The Grandeur is RCCL’s oldest and smallest ship. It is better suited for couples seeking the “old” cruise experience with few bells and whistles. A larger, newer ship in RCCL’s fleet may be more to your liking.

Great review and info.Unfortunately RCL is for kids. Why waste time in MDR,when Windjammer has more variety.
