Last day going into sanfransisco was rough so I suggest a motion sickness medicine even just for that day.

Challenge was getting to and from airport to the cruise terminal, but Princess transportation worked great.

Be prepared to dodge electric wheelchairs, walkers, and canes. This was the most geriatric cruise I have ever been on. In talking with crew members this is routine for this ship when it sails from SF. Don't expect luxury. Ship needs help. Looks like it was once spectacular but now it is just old

motion on the San Fran to Ensenada cruise was bad both days close to San Fran- many people vomiting!

The free soft drinks and mocktails is a great deal! We only booked one formal excursion and that was in Ensenada. The rest of the ports, we went exploring on our own and it worked out great.

Transport from the airport to the port and vise versa is a great service. Friendly crews and great foods.

buy the internet package before you board the ship because you get free minutes. consider renting a car & touring each island on your own. bringing your own wine on board was no problem that way you know you will enjoy wine that you like rather than paying too high of a price for perhaps the same
jeremymills88
Be advised that they (like many cruise lines apparently) charge gratuity to your shipboard account each day. You can alter the amount if you like, which I originally planned to do; however, the sevice was so good the whole time that I felt that the tip was about right for the trip.

We were two couples and all bought beverage package. Worth it for us. We used Specialty coffees each day and met for drinks before dinner and after show.

It is a ship that makes you feel slightly belittled: the regular rooms have no dvd player unless you are in a suite, even I offered to rent one from them; the top lounge is reserved for people with privilege, the reception of the host in star gazing program was less than friendly discrimatory
rmobergs
Only sail on newer ships as the maintenance is poor.

the beverage option is a great way to enjoy the cruise.

Eat in the main dinning room with reservations.

Take a warn jacket or sweater for the dinning rooms and Princess Theater. Rent a car after research.

Be ready for a fun, relaxing experience! You can tailor each day to your interests.

Do not book a cruise on the Grand. You will be disappointed. If possible, select another ship. We have sailed on the Grand 3 times and every time we have had issues.

Read the patter everyday. Take a highlight pen to mark all the things you want to do for that day. You have lots of choices to choose from and you don't want to miss anything.

Everything happens in the center of the ship at the Atrium on decks 5,6,and 7. You'll find the shops, wine bar and coffee bar, two cafes' and entrances to dining rooms, plus wonderful entertainment!!

the 'sang la' room is not big enough
