Good cruise for your buck by monizjacqueline

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my 2nd cruise on a Royal Caribbean cruise line and my boyfriends first and needless to say we both want to return. The food was delicious and the waiters were wonderful. The drink package is definitely a good bang for your buck whether you're drinking alcohol and soda or just soda. This was a smaller ship then my first one but still plenty of fun options to partake in or just lax with. My biggest issue was trying to explain something to a customer service agent on board who clearly didn't understand much English and trying to figure out our shower and how to make it a decent temperature. Overall, great time and cannot wait to return to a Royal boat!! Bing Bong (Marc - cruise director- says all the time)!!

Fun in the sun! by Erok

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am blessed to have great friends that had the chance to enjoy the time spent on Royal Caribbean, Enchantment of the seas. We celebrated two bachelors and had a total of 8 going. The overall experience was fantastic and our room attendant couldn't be any better. Manny was our man, he serviced us with a great attitude, took care of what we needed, and always started a short conversation on how were enjoying our time thus far. Our room # was 2579. We had the early dinner at 5:45 at Our Fair Lady and sat at table 408. The food was delicious but the attitude of one of our servers leaned towards a little racist. The first dinner he made a comment to my friend, which he is African american, that he had to go back and change in order to eat. He wore exactly the same attire on what we had on. The second night was even worse, the same thing but gave all of us the feel of neglect that none of us should be in there. In thinking for the third night, he realized what he has said and the actions he has took and tried to make it up to us with more food and drinks. The damage was already engraved, leading to the conclusion to never sit at table 408.

FOOD COURT WAS NOT SO GOOD AND THE DRINKS WERE NOT SO GOOD by vshane6412

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD JUST DISAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD AT THE WINDJAMMER AND THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

THE POOL BAR AND BOLEROS BAR WAS VERY DISORGANIZED AND THE DRINKS WERE NOT GOOD AT ALL.

THE SCHOONER BAR HOWEVER WAS GOOD AND ENJOYED OUR TIME THERE ONCE WE REALIZED THE BOLEROS  BAR WAS NOT GOOD .

IN THE PAST WE HAD ALWAYS ENJOYED THE BOLEROS BAR AND THE DRINKS.  WE PAID 12.00 A DRINK WITH JUST A SPLASH OF ALCOHOL.

ALSO THE R BAR WAS DISAPPOINTING.

THE CRUISE SHIP NEEDS TO IMPROVE ON THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD ON THE WINDJAMMER CAFE.  IT USE TO BE SO GOOD ALSO.

THE FOOD IN THE FAIR LADY DINING ROOM WAS GOOD.

OUR CABIN STEWARD LAST NAME "ELMER" WAS AWESOME-BEST CABIN STEWARD WE HAVE EVER HAD.

OUR OWNER'S SUITE WAS MAGNIFICENT AND THE EXTRAS THAT WERE GIVEN TO US WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT.

WE DID NOT PARTAKE IN THE CONCIERGE AND DIAMOND CLUB BUT I AM SURE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE....

Look for another ship !!!!!! by celiaspeer1961

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I've cruised only 4 times and this by far was the worst. I was so looking forward to spending a great cruise with my mom and this was very disappointing. We barely saw our room attendant. Every time I looked for him he was never around. Others were so I had to ask them for help. Even after requesting a chair for the shower for my 84 year old mother it took 3 requests and a trip to guest services. A day and a half later I finally got it. There were only 2 places to eat other than the sit down full service dining room. And they were at opposite ends of the ship. So if you didn't like the one you had to go all the way to the other end. Even the main dining room food was just average. Nothing special. If you wanted steak or lobster it was extra. Every other cruise I've been on you could have it every night if you wanted at no extra charge. The service was very slow between courses and even our initial greeting each night when we sat down was poorly executed. Since we didn't pay the extra up charge for soda or alcohol the only choices we had were very limited. Ice tea, lemonade, strawberry kiwi water, lemon lime water or orange juice ( only at breakfast). The entertainment bands were very bad. Every night they had an all male Asian band singing. Go on YouTube and listen to how bad any Asian sounds singing American music. It's just wrong!!!!!!! It's nothing against Asians but come on, our ship wasn't headed to Asia. The shows at night in the theatre were ok but I was expecting more. More like a broadway show or something that really moved you. Wasn't happening. During the day it would have been nice for them to have an indoor movie theatre for people that didn't just want to bake in the sun all day and drink non stop. The movie screen was right in front of the kiddie pool in the blazing sun all day. They could easily make the main theatre a place to watch a movie in peace and quiet. Over all there was very little to do on this ship. It is one of the older ships and the lay out is poorly designed. If you want to get to either end of the ship you mostly have to go from outside. You can't just walk end to end inside there's always something in the way. Find a newer ship, see what activities they offer, inquire about the music, the food etc. those things are the glue to making the experience great especially on your "Day at Sea" days. Sorry Enchantment....... You disenchanted me all the way !!!!!!!

Spring great get away by barbourkelly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Over all a good experience, no regrets. My review is probably tempered by my first cruise experience last year which was truly exceptional. The food was a B, the entertainment was a A-. The enchantment of the seas is an older ship and in some ways you can tell. The crew and support staff does an excellent job keeping the ship very clean and well maintained. The cruise director was outstanding and the entertainers were vegas quality for the most part. My only real gripe was that my 14 yo son was bored to tears. The teen club staff put out a schedule but appeared perfectly content with the non participation. Teens are usually shy and need a nudge and the staff didn't even half heartedly give one.

Poor Experience by gsunmasters

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The crew left a rope dangle on the side of the ship . It banged on the stateroom wall all night . They said they could not do anything because we were underway.

Crew moved us to another room  at 1 am. and the heat was on. Could not turn it off. WE had tho sleep with the door open all night.  My  little girl lost her glasses in the move .  Because they ran us off the ship at 8 am.

Pool was closed when we got on the ship  for 2 days.

Ship lost power and drifted for 5 minutes in the middle of the NIGHT !

Enchantment of the seas by nandgtrucking

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall the trip was good. The bad. No hot water in my cabin for 1 day. Do not try to buy the internet. I could not get the girl to explain to me why royal caribbean  wanted to charge 199.95 for the length of the cruise and Carnival was 59.00. Went to see a scheduled movie in the theater. They were having Bingo instead. I asked the girl if the movie was canceled. Her answer " Well we can wait until 12:15 and if the movie is not playing its canceled." I own an Auto shop and I almost went through the roof. Also the Ben and Jerrys was down the whole cruise. The good. The food was great. The room attendant took the time to know our names. Cabins were clean Buffet was awesome and the pools and other activties were good. The Island at Co Co cay was very nice.

We loved the Enchantment of the Seas1 by lauraandkurt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great experience!  It was our first cruise....I had always wanted to take a cruise and couldn't convince my husband because he was afraid of getting seasick.  He wore a patch and I wore wristbands and we didn't have any trouble!  The staff was great, and it was very fun having the same waiters every night and also getting to know our room attendant.  The best surprise was how wonderful the private island was!  I didn't know what to expect, but it was beautiful, the lunch provided was delicious and I loved that it had its own straw market and lots of activities.  My sons were thrilled that there was a basketball court.  We are huge basketball fans and were thrilled that the ship showed the NCAA championship game on the big screen by the pool!

The Great and The Not So Great! by TheRileyFam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

What was great: Great variety of food provided. Formal dining food was outstanding!! Great activities and information about what was going on was always available. The private Bahamas Island (Coco Kay) was fantastic. Entertainment was great. The room was a descent size for the four of us. Safety drill was okay, but more explanation could have been provided via brochure or something. Kids club was loved by the boys and they didn't want to leave. Service was always stellar!

What was not so great: As first time cruisers, we had no idea how the extra beds in the room worked. For instance, when we arrived, we thought there was only 1 bed. We we realized the beds were folded into the wall, we thought we needed the special tool to get them open, and we couldn't find the special tool in the room. It was so difficult getting through to guest services since many people were calling or visiting the desk for one reason or another. I finally got through to housekeeping and they explained to me that our concierge would come and open the beds.I recommend a nice brochure or something to explain how things on ship work. We spent too much time trying to figure this out and contacting someone to help us.

Cabin Readiness: Our cabin was ready early, which was great... so we thought. Our bathroom did not have enough towels and clothes for 4 people. So, I had to call for additional ones. Also, there was mold in our refrigerator. Although we didn't use it, I recommend taking the time to thoroughly prep the cabin. It is obvious the refrigerator has been missed for a long time with the mold in it. I would have been just  fine waiting a little longer for our cabin to be complete before occupying it.

Cabin Bathroom: The bathroom was clean but extremely small. The biggest issues were the sink and faucet. I recommend RC reconsidering the type of sinks and faucets used in the cabins' bathrooms. The faucet constantly sprayed water all over the place due to the type of force of the faucet and the small rounded bowl that was receiving the water. Since there was not a sink counter, the water always went onto the floor. It was very messy.

I would definitely go again, but to a different destination.

Royal Carribean Consistently Good service by rmjhicksJO

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Royal always has a good friendly staff.  The ships are well taken care of. And plenty of place to get a drink. They take the time to learn you likes and names.  I like a great deal and nice comfort.  Toughest thing about cruises is getting the excursions you want before they sell out.  Scuba went fast and so did the Cabana's.  May have been too limited.

Carnival would be the cheapest and so is the service.

Highly dissapointed by Disappointed64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As soon as boarding the ship, my finance and I were unable to get into our room due to our key cards not working. We asked a stateroom attendant if we could just be let into our room so we could drop off our heavy carry on luggage, to which he simply replied no he didn't have the master key and walked away.  This was just the start of our awful customer service experience.  After walking all the back to guest services, the representative directing people at the end of the line accused us of deactivating our cards with our cellphones.  I assured her that was NOT the problem as I had happily shut my cell phone off and stowed it away in my luggage.  She told us to wait in the long line and turned around to "help" the next group of people.  After waiting almost a half hour another representative came up to us in line and asked our issue, she pulled us out of the line and brought us to the desk where yet another rude "customer service" representative would not even look up at us and complained to the other employee about the machine being broken.  Mean while other passengers with the same issue, were being pulled out of the long line to go in front of us.

After finally getting our new key cards and dropping off our luggage we went straight to the bar, where once again we waited without even being acknowledged.  We had to ask other guests about the drink package specials.

Maybe frustrating their passengers is Royal Caribbean's plan to boost their alcohol sales.

This was only the first of many bad experiences on our short trip.  The last night on the ship we felt rushed and as if everything was closing down and we were inconveniencing the staff.  One of the staff members actually told us that she was getting ready to get off the ship and go home  so she had to get her things together and get her visa back.

I could go on, but I feel I've wasted enough of my free time with Royal Caribbean.

An Amazing Experience by tswain27

This was an amazing experience for my son and I. Royal Caribbean has very courteous, kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming staff. My stateroom attendant Elvin left had an infectious smile that left a long lasting impression on my son and myself my entire vacation. I can not wait to travel with Royal Caribbean in the future.

Great time..first cruise by bnreimers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We enjoyed the cruise for the most part . Had some good and some not very good at all dinners in the sit down dining room(will try Chops next time if we go gain) Buffet was ample and good..though we are not real beffet people. Entertainment was soso. We were sorry the the adult pool was enclosed...pretty warm with no breeze. Cant imagine what it would be like in summer! Our cabin guy Duane was awesome!! Loved the little folded towel touches in room. There were no balcony rooms when we booked. Saw one and will def. want one next time. Coco Cay was the BEST of all. Loved staying after low tide and finding creatures. All in all ..good time. Main complaint was the 2nd night dinner..pretty bad. I had duck and husband had the fresh catch which didnt seem so "fresh" at all!

Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas - Great Service, Delicious Dinners. Overall, a pleasant experience. by EFaith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Service:  We were so impressed at how our dinner servers remembered all of our names, even off the cruise ship, at Coco Cay Island.  The employees are very hard working and cross trained, in that once the ship stopped for our beach day, we saw many familiar faces on the beach.

The ship itself:  was a little dated. Pool was on the small side. We were on the 4th deck in a centrally located ocean view room, which was great because the dining room was on the same level, as was the area to disembark on our last day.  There was also a lounge on this level where there was live music and a small bar area.

The fact that the ship docked in the Bahamas from 12:00pm to 11:59pm was great.  We didn't feel rushed after our dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon Island, which was phenomenal!

Overall, our family of 4 had a great time.

4 night Bahamas Cruise by kreyher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first ever cruise.  We were super excited about it until right before our trip.  There were so many negative reviews being posted that I was really skeptical. We decided we would just move ahead with an open mind.  Let me just say we were very pleasantly surprised! We loved the cruise and had an amazing time! We had no problems with the the service at any point from booking to check out.  I felt like the whole  process was very organized and moved smoothly.  Which for me is a huge factor because I am very organized.  One thing if you do not have a passport and are married be sure to bring your marriage licensed, which is the one thing I wasn't informed of, but it was not a big issue.  Also, when you are boarding, be prepared to take pictures (they are $20 each if you decide to buy), drink packages can be purchased at this time.  The soda package is well worrth it and the cup they give you is a great souvenier. The alcohol package I would take consideration before buying.  On this cruise it was 232.00 for the 4 nights (or 50.00 a night plus gratuity). I didn't feel like I would benefit from it because I am not a big drinker and we had excursions planned so didn't think it was worth it for me. (drinks are 10-15 each on the ship). There is all kinds of food readily available during the entire cruise.  I don't think we have ever eaten so much.  The dining room, my fair lady, had wonderful food and our server Jumantlan was amazing! After our first night there he knew my entire family of seven's names, and our drink orders.  He was very attentative and we never needed anything.  I think he is by far the best server I have ever had anywhere.  The room attendant, was very friendly and on top of everything. He even took the time to show my kids how to make towel animals.  Coco Cay was a very beautiful island with tons of things to do. As well as a bbq buffet for lunch and live entertainment.  There is definitely something for everyone here.  We got to see tons of sea life there, fish, conch snail, sting rays, and even some saw a white tipped shark.  Nassau is absolutely beautiful.  We visited atlantis for the day.  I liked that the cruise had it organized and actually shuttled us to and from atlantis so no taxi fees at all.  Atlantis is a huge place with tons to do.  Make sure you have credit card for food and drinks, it is a little on the pricey side.  As far as small bills that everyone mentions, we got a ton and barely used any.  We didn't buy much at the straw market so maybe that is why.  It was super easy boarding and reentering the ship which I am grateful for, with a huge family things like that are typically a nightmare.  Our day at sea was nice to just relax after all the excursions. My only complaint is that with a full ship and a day at sea it is very crowded and the pools are very small.  I would have scored the cruise with a 5 star rating but there were just a few minor things that in my opinion could be improved.  Like I mentioned the pools were very small for the amount of people as well as very cold.  Also, the only warm indoor pool is for adults which stinks for people with toddlers.  Also, the ship could definetly use some updating in a few areas.  But those are all very minor issues that did not all affect or influence our cruise.  We LOVED it , will for sure cruise again, and have already started recommending Royal Caribbean

Nice, short cruise from a very good port. by edward629

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We love cruising and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) is one of the better in the industry. The ship is one of the older ships in the RCCL Fleet, but it has been maintained exceptionally well for her age. The staff was the best we have had to date, especially our Room Steward and the waiters in Chops grill and the main dining room. The food was good, but not outstanding and travel to and from the port was very good. We loved our suite, the Concierge lounge, and all of the amenities that went with it, including a special breakfast and lunch on the beach with staff. Remember that there will always be an abundance of children on this ship, as long as she is at Port Canaveral, especially during Holidays, because of its proximity to Orlando.
