WONDERful!!!! by AngelaJ5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was the very first cruise that I have ever taken and I am now hooked. I am wondering why anyone would vacation any other way! Disney of course did everything just right. I felt as though I had personal service each and every day. The room was spotless and the split bathroom was a plus with 2 teenagers getting ready! The food was exceptional and the shows were of course spectacular!!! Apparently the ship was sailing at capacity, but at no time did I ever feel crowded. The best part of the cruise I thought by far was the day we spent at Castaway Cay!!! I enjoyed Nassau but after our day there, I was actually wishing we had 2 days at the beach there! The only problem is, i am afraid to cruise on any other cruiseline because Disney set the bar so high!!!

Our first cruise experience by LauriW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney has never failed to impress us in the past, so we were looking forward to our first cruise with them. Unfortunately for the price, Disney did not meet our expectations. There were so many children in the two small pools offered that my kids couldn't even get in the pool. Our teenager was totally bored and with the exception of some great shows, we were totally unimpressed. Food was blah, staff were unexceptional, and due to storms the ship was very rocky...It will be a while before we attempt another cruise.

Disney´s name says it all.... by Yani1018

Ship: Disney Wonder

Disney´s name says it all. It’s a beautiful ship you have little ones. However I believe is extremely over price. The food taste was ok but not great.

A Great Cruise by BobB6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Having cruised alot over the past 20 years, the shows were a refreshing change to the normal song and dance that you see on the typical cruise ship. The service could not have been better! The cruise staff really made you feel like they really cared.

Our cruise on the disney magic by JanineB47496462

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our cruise was actually very disappointing for one reason. We did not get to go to the Disney Island because of the weather. The ship could not dock. They tried for 2 days over and over. It was heartbreaking for my 14 and 16 year old daughters. If you are not in to the characters there really is not much to do during the day. There is no pool for teens. Since it was so cool no one was in the adult pool and hot tub. We asked if our girls could use the hot-tub with us but it was strictly for adults. They sat in the room and watched Tv while we got in the hot tub for an hour trying to enjoy ourselves the last day. I guess we looked at the cruise as a way to get to the islands. When we did not get to the disney island, where the ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie was. This totally ruined our vacation. Two straight days on the ship was unbearable. My girls watched lots of movies (that they had seen before) and sat in chairs on the deck with towels wrapped around them because it was pretty cool and very windy the whole time we were on the ship. We shopped everyday but there are only 2 stores and it was the same "stuff" everyday. This was our first cruise and we will probably never cruise again. It was just a very disappointing experience for us. Who would have thought in April the weather would have been so cool and windy. We never dreamed we would end up not going to the Disney Island.

Our first Disney Cruise by JosC20074374

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney is great. From the port to the good bye. Our kids (they don't speak English yet) felt at home at the ship. which leave us time to enjoy it too! The only thing that was not good was the experience we had with the snorkeling at cast away island. The catamaran was crouded with people, very little explaining of the actviity and a at a volume that more than the half of the people didn't hear. No help to get off and on the boat... My nine year old had a terrible time for 5 minutes in the water and we were out in the boat for an hour waitng for sailing back to the island. The SPA is gorgeous, the food is excellent, the crew is friendly and the experience is very good. Bahamas was cool, but the Dolphin experience not as cool as the sell it. Atlantis resort has great infrastructure and poor personel comapred to the Disney crew. I will do it again, but for a longer period of time.

Simply Amazing!!!! by MaryR20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first Disney Cruise, 2nd cruise overall. The first was a Carnival and this Disney Cruise didn't not even begin to compare to Carnival. It was SO much better! Everything is top-notch, first class. The ship is beautiful and pretty easy to navigate your way around. The emphasis on hand-sanitizing is GREAT!

Dreams Do Come True on the Disney Wonder by FredM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Disney Wonder was well, WONDERFUL!!!. In the Disney tradition every thing was done with excellence. The ship was clean, the crew and cast members extremely friendly and helpful. The meals were above average and there was never a dull moment on board. The deluxe outside stateroom that we were upgraded to (no charge) was incredible. The two compartment bathroom was great. We appreciated the fact that there were segregated areas for adults and that in these areas (i.e. nightclubs) the atmosphere was kept at a PG-13 level.

the most amazing experience of my life by LaurenM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean

The whole experience was phenomenal! From the fine dining, to the beauty and creativity of the ship. The adults and the children were extremely pleased. The entertainment was superb. No one in my family ever got bored. The room was beautiful, & kept very tidy. Each and every employee were very very nice and helpful. All I can say is the ship was magical and it really does not matter if your an adult, kid, toddler, tween, or teenager. You'll enjoy this fabulous boat, like I have so many times!

A Wonderful Cruise by KenB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a grandparent trip for our grandchildren to enjoy a cruise experience, and they were not disappointed. There are so many activities to keep all busy for as long as you want to stay busy. The shows were as good as any broadway production that I have experienced. My daughter and I sat rying to determine where they store all of the sets used in the shows. The ships staff were all second to none. Everyone on the ship were determined to make your cruise experience a trip to remember and they succeeded. The staterooms were as large and comfortable as we have had on any cruise. line.

Is there such a thing as a fun overload? by SimonB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Is there such a thing as a fun overload? Can you have too much fun on a 3 night cruise? If the answer to this is yes then its a Disney cruise. A three day Disney Cruise is the most fun you can have in 3 days and guess what its all good clean fun, no smut, no cursing, just great fun. There is so much to do you just cant fit it all in, you can go back 10 times and still be amazed with what this great cruise line offers. From the easy check in to an even easier check out from the moment you arrive at the terminal Disney makes it a seamless experience. They quite literally go overboard to please you and make sure your vacation is as exciting as it can be. Disney cruises have something for everyone its not just about the kids, from 7 to 70, 9 to 90 DCL will entertain you with its amazing array of activities and amenities for all ages. From Broadway style and standard shows fine dining which rotates through a different restaurant each evening, your dinning room staff stay with you during your cruise and will attend to your every need. Staterooms are impeccable and your stateroom attendant will discretely attend to your room with a minimum of fuss or disruption to you. Castaway Cay is Disneys Private Island in the Bahamas, you can snorkel, Jet Ski kayak or just relax at the adult only beach on the island, and they have built a jetty on the island so guests can walk ashore. A recent addition to the Island is the ghost ship featured in Pirates of the Caribbean. Stores in Nassau have now realized that the pirate phenomenon created by the 3 Disney movies is a great money spinner and they now stock a variety of pirate attire and accessories. DCL is the only cruise line allowed to have a live firework display at sea from a moving vessel, this creates a fantastic finale to the open air Pirate party which takes place on every Bahamian tour. If you only take one cruise in your lifetime do it on Disney Cruise Line you will not be disappointed.

Disappointment by MarionB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Save your money and go on a different cruise line. The wait staff was only interested in pushing alchoholic beverages, as the tip for such was automatically added in at the time of purchase. The service rendered wouldn't have met shoreside standards, much less cruise standards set by others in the industry (Norwegian, Celebrity, Etc). The children's programs were largely designed to take your kids off your hands, but if you wanted to be with your children (as we did), you wouldn't really utilize this function. We are long-time Disney fans, holding annual passes for years, and spending two to four weeks annually at Disney World, but the cruise line is second rate at best. Combine this with a price that is 3X the average for cruising and you get a tremendous disappointment. The entertainment was about average for the cruise industry, certainly not the best shows I have seen at sea. (anyone who has seen the "Pan" spectacular on Norwegian will attest to this) I travel quite a bit and I don't understand the high ratings given by everyone else for this cruise line. I feel that it is vastly overrated.

magical time by SteveK8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship, the food and the service was great. I have been on serval different cruise lines and this is by far the best. My kids got to see all most every disney character on one 3 day cruise instead of just seeing one or two on a trip to disney. On some cruises you can get bored, but not on a disney cruise there is always something to do for all age groups. The only con of this trip is nassau I have been there several times and it is always the same disgusting. if you go here go do something watersport releated and get back on the ship. Castaway Cay is the best island stop. No tendering and beach chairs and hamaocks everywhere. The beach is set up the same eay as the ship. A beach for familes, aseperate beach just for kids, and a seprate beach just for adults. Overall a great cruise and well worth the little extra money.

the best vacation we ever had by John71537426

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was the best vacation we ever had. everything was awsome. The food was great. There was so much food we could not eat it all. The staff was great. always eager to help you. The room is bigger than it appears when you first go in. The shows were awsome. Broadway has nothing on disney. Castway Cay is the best. I love the towel animals. They were so cute. The main thing that made it so great is you don't have to lift a finger to do nothing. It is all done for you. Like in our room . You get up take a bath and go out. come back the bed is made and clean towels. get ready for dinner. go out to dinner and a show come back and the bed is turned down clean towels and a towel animal on the bed . it was great. We can't wait to go again!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ship was beautiful. The staff was courteous and constantly smiling. Everything was kept immaculately clean. Even our fellow cruisers were put at ease - absolutely everyone was pleasant. I can't wait to do this again.

A bit disappointed for the money spent by JulieC11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

One of the most beautiful ships at sea in my opinion, clean and classy, but overall experience was a dissappointment. Cruised with RCL and Celebrity before and this trip did not come close to the level of service on Celebrity. Dining was the most disappointing, although our waitstaff was terrific and attentive. The three dining rooms were over-rated pre-cruise I guess. My expectations were higher. The food was good at best, but not memorable. As far as the children's programs, the pagers were great, every ship should have them for the adults. Ports: Note to Disney - skip the Nassau stop, it doesn't flatter the ship and its standards. Atlantis visit was dirty and unkept in places as was alot of the city. Castaway Cay was pretty, except for the jellyfish! Constant announcements on the beach of people needing EMT's from jellyfish stings. Also, felt like I was with a mass of people packed on the family beach....the chairs were so close, you could hardly get a clean view of the water. All said, service was nice, but not as nice as expected for the price. Would I go again? Probably not. Sorry Disney, but you could do better.
