Great time by leeannnpollard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a great cruise. More swimming pools will be a plus. Extended dining hours, overall it was a fantastic time and I will recommend to others. Meal times were okay. Better menus on some days. Once night there was construction but it quickly ended with a call. Place is clean and tidy.

If you have children this is the only cruise you should consider.  The service is wonderful, the ambiance is excellent and the activities for the kids is without equal.

Incredible vacation by Cruiser718

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our family really loved the organization, the cleanliness of the ship, and the entire crew was professional and very accommodating. We will definitely take another cruise on the Disney Fantasy. The dinner servers treated us like family, they really helped make the cruise special for us. The only thing I would like changed was the time in port. We felt some of the excursions were rushed. We really enjoyed all of the on board entertainment. The kids had plenty of options as did the adults. I definitely give Disney high praise for a magnificent vacation we will remember always! A Fantasy come tru by iknit

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Disney Fantasy is spotless with plenty of entertainment for each and every passenger.  Dinning is a pleasure to satisfy any palet.  As always the crew members were friendly, helpful and curteous.  We enjoyed our cruise so much that we booked a 7 night cruise for next April and intend to take one every year.

We love cruising with Disney.  The service is fabulous, the entertainment is amazing and it is always a fabulous vacation!  We love all the entertainment options on the Fantasy - the AquaDuck, the movie theater and the evening shows are some of our favorites.

Not for Adult Only Parties by snoopyfan6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was just for me (32 y/o female) and my mother (65 y/o female).  We are both avid Disney fans, but we felt so out of place on this cruise.  We realized we would rather have gone to Disney World and spent less money than take this cruise.  It was good, food wasn't great, but we could have had a better time on Royal Caribbean for thousands of dollars less.  This cruise was like a Royal Caribbean cruise but with Disney characters.  I won't be taking another Disney Cruise.

It was a good cruise by JLGover

One of the ship's engines broke down making the return long and very uncomfortable. We were unable to make all stops for a full trip that we paid for.

Disney trip by marietomkins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean and well kept. The food was plentiful but bland. The trip was the star wars cruise we had thought they would play the movie more often. It was difficult to get in to see at the times available. The staff was as always for Disney amazing. As previously stated we were disappointed in the food in comparison to our last Disney cruise. The steaks were awful and most of the food lacked seasoning.

Amazing Cruise For Kids, Young And Old by dufffami

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The embarkation and debarkation processes are the best we have seen in the 6 cruises we have taken.  The food in the main dining room is very good at times (last days) and average sometimes. The coffee is probably the worst at sea, even if prepared from Illy coffee into expresso based coffees. The service is excellent everywhere on the ship.

The ship itself is a wonderful Disney creation, from huge Nemo wall modaics to Mickey shaped lights and sinks in the bathrooms to picture frames that become animated when you approach.

the animation is fabulous.  The appearances of Mickey and his crew are well timed and give rise to great dance parties. The princesses also make regular appearances at scheduled times.  Remember to get tickets to take good free pictures.  The pirate night is dynamic and lively, pefectly timed to end with nice but short fireworks.

The kids' club is amazing.  The kids rush through supper and beg to go to the club where they are checked in and out via a wrist band to defined persons who must know the password for the child.

The cruise is amazing to live through as a child or through a child's eyes for an adult.

The nightly shows include three wonderful Disney stories.  The last show is a disappointment as it caters mainly to adults and closes off the cruise without any use of Disney magic or emotion.  They missed the "boat" on that one.

Overall, living this with the grandchildren was one of the best cruises we have ever had.

the Remy dining room is fabulous.  Expensive but truly fabulous.

DCL #4 by loraweinke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Loved it.  We did encounter some poor weather the last 2 days, but that is out of everyone's control.  I do wish that the "no saving of lounge chairs" rule would be enforced a little more.

Winter getaway by mloewen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Beautiful ship! Great shows! Lots of young families traveling with grandma and grandpa.

Husband got a cold on third day and it became more of a challenge to enjoy. We went on tours the islands Tortola & St Thomas , which are beautiful and enjoyed our day at Castaway Cay. But we will only do another Disney if we have our family with us.

Not a large enough protected adult only area to set and read or take a nap or just visit with other adults and the age of the children were very young. Cute! But not relaxing.

It was nice ,but excursions they offer on the ship not designed for small kids at all.we took  bitterly garden and ocean world on St.Thomas.butterfly garden is a walking distance from the dock, no need to buy it ,but its in a package, if we knew we would just walk there.twin  island excursion on St.marten  was way better.we loved it, purchased in advance on Alaska air site

Great time with family by Cruiser287

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my second cruise and the first with Disney.  Half of our group are Disney fanatics so the on board characters and picture opportunities were available.  One downside was the long lines to get the pictures taken.  The ship was decorated beautifully for Christmas.  The highlight had to be when lying on the beach on Castaway Cay, Captain Jack Sparrow was walking down the beach looking for his rum.

Awesome cruise line, the best by far! by josian1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would have rated the cruise a five, but we encountered heavy rain and flooding on the beach day at the Castaway Cay. I had issues with the luggage and my stateroom but they were rectified professionally and quickly. Other than that, the cruise was worth every dollar spent, from the shows (broadway quality), movies (Disney Movies), activities, and the ships appearance. There was so much to do for all ages. My children, whom are teenage boys and an elementary school age boy, stayed in the age group club for the duration of the cruise, which left plenty of time for adults to engage in some fun times.  The food was was very good, where some dishes was just okay. The servers were awesome, thank you Alvin, Milton, and Ana, highly recomended! The kid's club staff was amazing! The Director was outgoing and upbeat. Thank you Disney Fantasy for making memories with and for my familyHappy.

This was the best cruise ever. Rotational dining was fun. The tween club was clean, safe, and we'll ran. The port excursions were safe and good value.  The cruise staff were all exceptional!

High Expectations Not Met by KFDuckworth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Having been on a Disney cruise in the past, I had some pretty high expectations. Disney is known for being a champion of customer service and on the top of the their with pretty much everything.

Upon boarding the boat, we quickly discovered that some things we were told to be true when booking the cruise a year ago had since changed. This information was not communicated to us in any way aside from updates to their mile long list of policy and procedures on their website. While Disney did their best to meet us half way, this set a negative tone for our very much anticipated vacation.

In addition to that, service was lacking at dinner for the first few nights. When we addressed our concerns to the host the problems were instantly corrected, but it also made for a rough start of our vacation.

Lastly, we ended our cruise by every member of my family getting the norovirus. While I do not know the origin of the virus and I do not blame Disney for this, it did make for a very unpleasant return and end to our vacation.

Overall, this experience will not keep me from going on another Disney cruise because both my girls absolutely love it. However, my expectations have gone down.
