Review summary

Wish I had gone on this cruise years ago when my children were young, but I didn't find it was the right fit for my husband and me as a couple. I would highly recommend for younger couples with younger children.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy as could be. Arrived at Port Canaveral via Disney Cruise Line bus. Checked in and was on the ship in approximately 20 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was average and definitely nothing to write home about. So many people had told me how superior Disney's food was versus other cruise lines, but it's not that great. Filet at dinner was tough and tasteless and selections were few. I've had much better food on other cruise lines.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
For adults, onboard activities were limited. One day there were only 2 adult activities on the schedule for a 5 hour time period. Yes, movies were available and many activities for kids, but I was very disappointed with what my hubby and I could do. No pool games. No shuffleboard or ping pong tournaments.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Wishes, Believe and Aladdin were great! The welcome aboard show was a disappointment. Magician was good.

Children's Programs

did not travel with children

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our cabin steward was MIA after Monday. My hubby and I asked the other cabin stewards where Phillip was and were given 3 different stories about his status. I had to call and request toiletries from housekeeping because none were left in our cabin for 2 days. Service in the MDR was good. The first night the dining staff called my hubby, Steve and sang Happy Birthday to him. His name is Randy and his birthday was in March...not September. We did get a good laugh and they never forgot his name after that.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean and spotless and easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very spacious room and loved the split bathroom design. No complaints about noise. If I was going to sail with Disney again, I would definitely book this room again.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

went directly to/from terminal on DCL bus.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
This was at least my 6th visit to this port. Locals aren't too pushy. Lots of shops for souvenirs. We did not do any excursions in this port.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Was only in the port area from where the tender arrived and we got on the bus for our excursion. Our excursion was snorkeling at the old Stingray City and it was wonderful. Beautiful ride on the catamaran. Beautiful water. Lots to see underwater.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
First visit to Falmouth. Nice, new port area but don't want to venture outside the gated area. Locals are pushy and obnoxious.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
A beautiful island. Loved the adult only area, Serenity Bay! Wonderful lunch with BBQ ribs, ribeye steaks, burgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. There's even an ice cream machine for dessert.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation has never been easier!
