Review summary

We are 2 grandparents who wanted to share our 5oth wedding anniversary with our 3 children, their spouses, and our 5 grandchildren. The Disney Kids Clubs were perfect to insure all the grandchildren had a wonderful experience. The adult children had a super time as well. This was truly was a memory of a life time. Everyone had a terrific time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Generally no problem, except for long lines as 4000 of us checked in. Agents were very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. Process was fine tuned and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good to very good food, depending on the night. Buffet was as expected. Unlimited sodas and ice cream cones were an unexpected treat.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Super ship for the children and grand children. Disney does it first rate. The age group kids clubs are spectacular. Many activities were fun, entertaining, and challenging to each specific age group. Had wonderful friendly staff at each club. Kids were never board. If children don't have a great trip, it not due to something Disney did not provide.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The stage shows were great except they did not have stage shows each night. Showing a movie in the stage show are is not the same as a live stage show. The last night "show" was really disappointing. In other parts of the ship, the bars, and DJ's did a very nice job.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The kids clubs are the # 1 best part of this voyage. Our grandchildren absolutely loved them. We had 5 grandchildren ages 4 to 13 and they all had a fabulous time. Most nights they stayed up late just to be in their club. Staff was terrific, energetic, and insured all enjoyed themselves.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All were very friendly and went out of their way to be sure everyone enjoyed everything. All very knowledgeable and quickly resolved any questions. If they didn't know a specific answer; they quickly got someone to answer.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Another Disney trademark. The crew was constantly cleaning, polishing, and even painting. Everything looked well maintained. Ships layout was fine. They could do a better job with having an easy to read pocket sized diagram that most other cruise lines have.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The state room setup was well done. We had 4 different rooms for our 13 travelers ......3 families with one or two children in each room and one for the grandparents. The family bedrooms have a sleep sofa, a drop down twin bed, and in some cases a Murphy bed as well. The balconies can all join together, if you desire it. Some of the bedrooms also have an joining interior door between each other

Ship tip

Walk thru the entire ship on day 1 and get a sense as to all that is available. It's terrific.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
We arrived 2 nights before sailing to be sure we had no problem with transfers. On our free day, we had a great day at the Kennedy Space Center. It easily required the whole day. We did this on our own, not thru Disney.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Typical Mexico with a lot of people hawking their merchandise or services. The docking port is put there to serve the tourists; so you pay more for their stuff and they hard sell knowing you have limited time there. We walked the town on our own.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We walked the town on our own. Beautiful island with laid back people. No one is hawking your business. Clean and easy to walk downtown docking area. Beautiful shops, many with higher end merchandise.

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
We took a Disney excursion van, since we had 10 people wanting to go to Dunns River Falls. It took an hour each way to reach the falls. Interesting sights along the way. Typical Caribbean island. The falls were amazing; but VERY crowded and the water was VERY swift. As a result, we were unable to climb the falls as we had hopped we could.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
Another Disney attraction extremely well done. Best private island run by a cruise company that we have ever been on (we have been on 4 other private islands). Lots of water activities, beautiful water, very clean, and lots of lounge chairs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good process that went smoothly. Everyone seemed to be in a nice mood. No problem with customs.
