Great Europe & transatlantic cruise by alklem

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

Good cruise with fun cruise staff. Older ship but also smaller. Didn't always know what was going to happen due to a hurricane so needed updates earlier. Food was good & available 24 hrs. Staff is friendly.

Had to leave the cruise here, my wife was hospitalized here. Thank the people of Dublin for their help and kindness. The Doctors and Nurses at Mater Hospital are a credit to their profession and we can't thank them enough. Erin go Braugh

Stay Away From Cruising Excursions by ruthgene77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This is a fun ship with great ports. The crew is wonderful. Again, I urge you to stay away from Cruising Excursions as they are expensive, inflexible and the tours are terrible. You will do better with Viator.

Nice boat but disappointing entertainment by nich10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Crown Princess

Nice cruise but disappointing shows, especially the musical shows the singer's and dancers weren't that good. The variety of shows were poor and at awkward time. Kristian Grey magician was good.

Beautiful UK and France by ddemase

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This is a great way to see a large volume of the British Isles and N.France is a "short" amount of time. As a cruise, the ship was adequate and the entertainment ok. The destinations were really the centerpiece of the trip and not the vessel. I'm a bit jaded for cruise ships as I've traveled on Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ships a couple of times where the vessel is at least half of the attraction of sailing with the entertainment, amenities, and variety of enclaves taking center stage.

Disappointing Princess Cruise by Maddyandmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

I planned this trip for about a year. The cruise was chosen for its itinerary. I read so many bad reviews and hoped our experience would be better. We will never do another Princess Cruise. The food was so bad that words can’t describe many of the things we attempted to eat.

Worn out dated ship with tasteless food. by ochcdic4u

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship had rust stains over the balconies, the food in every restaurant was mediocre and tasteless, the carpet in our room and parts of the ship was dirty and worn. I ordered s drink in the casino charged but not delivered, I had to go to the bar and explain only to be given a look of distrust but at least they gave it to me. Unable to go to the port of Paris which is what we wanted the most because of a Paris Green Day ? Not their fault, but why advertise Paris if you can’t go? Tell me that when I am booking my cruise. Not after. we signed up for some of the contests on the ship, but when they asked for your room number when entering they can see you are not a past cruiser with them so they never picked you. Everyone we spoke with who was picked were past cruisers with Princess. LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT... THEY FORGOT TO GIVE US BACK OUR PASSPORTS! Can you imagine if we were going to the airport and arrived with no passports! WE WERE GOING TO LONDON SO 6 HOURS ROUND TRIP TO GO BACK TO THE SHIP AND GET OUR PASSPORTS ONLY TO BE TOLD “ SORRY ABOUT THAT I GUESSED WE REALLY DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE” HERE LET US PAY YOUR CAB FARE. FIRST AND LAST CRUISE WITH THIS COMPANY.

Good trip around British Isles. by JollySailorMan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This is our first cruise with Princess. We enjoyed our trip around UK visiting cities, villages, castles, museums, lakes and Irish bars including the Guinness Brewery. Giants Causeway was a great to visit too.

NEVER again, the SS Minnow, run by Gilligan and the skipper by drref

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Let me start with an embarkation where without prior notification they confiscate your passport, ostensibly to speed up international travel. BALONEY. I have been on multiple European cruises and this is the first time it was ever done. Additionally with identity theft on the rise, I DO NOT want anyone with my passport. And of course they tell you to have some other sort of government ID on you. MEMO TO IDIOTS. When you travel overseas you do not necessarily bring other ID with you. On of course after I had my heart set on the Normandy Beaches, and BOOKED a Princess Tour [they bought out all of the available seats on any Normandy Tours so they were the only game in town]I find out that I cannot go because I am disembarking at LeHavre and am no longer their guest. [I was their guest when they took my money]And of course they let the TOURING passengers off of the boat immediately and let the disembarking passengers wait until 830 to leave. Absolutely obnoxious and disrespectfull. Regarding food: I have NEVER spent a week with tasteless food that belongs in a college dorm cafeteria like this. It is pathetic. Does the chef have any clue how to spice food. Tasteless was a kind word: The only decent coffee I had was in the specialty coffee shot [had to pay] the only decent cake was in the specialty restaurant and the I cannot say that I enjoyed a SINGLE meal on the ship and I AM certainly NOT a foody. In short, the the expense USE ANOTHER CRUISE LINE. I have sailed, Holland, Royal Carib, even Carnival and each of those were better than this dump. And my favorite is leaving ports late because of Low tide. Memo to idiots. Any of us who took third grade science know that Tidal Charts are predictable months in advance. I guess the SS Minow and its captain and master Captain and Gilligan skipped that class in boat school.

Great cruise.. can’t help the weather and mechanical problems. Does seem strange that they are doing ship upgrades while on a cruise.. I think moving to medallion class...

SSW by sullyward

I was very disappointed with Princess this time because they were installing the Medallion System during the cruise which caused numerous problems with the elevators, propulsion systems, televisions, etc.

How not to treat customers by Colinmiafl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We had a delayed boarding in Dublin and told to go to the Hilton for a hospitality suite but there was not enough space and no food and my family and I sat on the floor of an empty conference room for hours and ordered our own food. Unlike a lot of other passengers we didn't complain about this. But then on the ship I was profiled and insulted by staff and their manager and when I complained to guest services they investigated but never offered me anything but a sorry and told me that they couldn't find the people involved but were having the staff retrained. The response was not sufficient or appropriate. I've spent valuable vacation time trying to deal with this situation. When I told Jody, the client relations manager, that I'm glad that I was able to point out a problem so that they could restrained their staff but she didn't say anything or offer anything to me to address my bad feeling about the cruise and the staff, he responded that I didn't ask for anything and that they didn't want to offer anything because she didn't want to insult me in case it wasn't enough. When I said that sorry wasn't good enough and that they should have done something more he brushed me off and said that there was obviously nothing that he could do for me on the cruise and so he would send my complaint to corporate and I could deal with them after the cruise. I was appalled about the guest service department's response to my complaint about the incident, which they all agreed was a horrible experience for a guest. In addition, we've had a bad experience with the a/c in our room and all the technology on the ship - bad wifi that we paid for, TV problems and electrical problems with the lights and TV- probably all due to the change over to the Medallion technology while we've been on the cruise.
