Review summary

The ship had rust stains over the balconies, the food in every restaurant was mediocre and tasteless, the carpet in our room and parts of the ship was dirty and worn. I ordered s drink in the casino charged but not delivered, I had to go to the bar and explain only to be given a look of distrust but at least they gave it to me. Unable to go to the port of Paris which is what we wanted the most because of a Paris Green Day ? Not their fault, but why advertise Paris if you can’t go? Tell me that when I am booking my cruise. Not after. we signed up for some of the contests on the ship, but when they asked for your room number when entering they can see you are not a past cruiser with them so they never picked you. Everyone we spoke with who was picked were past cruisers with Princess. LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT... THEY FORGOT TO GIVE US BACK OUR PASSPORTS! Can you imagine if we were going to the airport and arrived with no passports! WE WERE GOING TO LONDON SO 6 HOURS ROUND TRIP TO GO BACK TO THE SHIP AND GET OUR PASSPORTS ONLY TO BE TOLD “ SORRY ABOUT THAT I GUESSED WE REALLY DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE” HERE LET US PAY YOUR CAB FARE. FIRST AND LAST CRUISE WITH THIS COMPANY.

We tried some of the contests but after asking for your room number (why)? So they could see who their regular past cruisers are and pick them to participate and win.

I was on the same cruise. They took our passports when we embarked the ship. We were handed a letter indicating the reason, which was Ireland and we were told exactly what day they would be returned to us by the room attendant. It was our responsibility to follow up on this. Simple....

1960cruiser. I went on the same cruise last year and they do take your passports before going into, I believe Scotland. However, we made sure to get ours back.

It's on you to make sure you have your passport...and rust...pretty common on seagoing ships. In fact rust is a constant nuisance on ships...it's a never ending battle. Maybe you should've spent a little more time enjoying your surroundings and paying attention to you and yours instead of making up imagined slights and worrying about who's been on more cruises. You're a real gem, I can tell.

I'm just curious why the ship had your passport in the first place. I give it to them at check in, and they hand it back. Why did they have it when you left the ship? Why would you even let them have it? There is only two times when passports are out....when you check in, and when you go through customs after you leave ship.

I agree with all of the above. It is a shame that you attempt to pass blame.

Yelling (all caps text) about "not getting your passports back" doesn't make it any less your own fault. It is *your* responsibility to make sure you have everything you came with upon disembarking the ship, especially needed travel documents. Same comment regarding your not getting to see what you wanted to see in Paris. Not the cruise ship's fault at all. They didn't shut down the port, or skip the port even. You just didn't get to see what you wanted. Because you didn't do the research. And somehow that is Princess's fault? Cry me a freaking river. I'm guessing your father-in-law probably violated the dining room dress code, which is why the maitre d' wouldn't let him in. But sure, let's play the victim once again, and blame the cruise line for your not following the rules. You sound like an unhappy, unpleasant person who just wants to complain. I hope we are never on a cruise together.

Sorry you had a bad experience. It sounds like cruising may not be for you. A little research ahead of time would have informed you about the holiday in Paris. I am not sure how someone can forget they don’t have their Passport before leaving the ship. I’m not sure you can blame the ship for you not checking to make sure you had them before leaving.

Interesting review. I really do sense your anger and frustration about the ship and finally Paris which is a shame. What I do not comprehend is you leaving without your passports to go to an airport. That is something I and most would not do. I would not have left that ship without passports. So who's fault is that I wonder!
