Review summary

We have always been Royal Caribbean cruisers...this one may have changed us! The beds on Royal are not great....these are amazing!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got there pretty early in the day, easiest boarding and we didn't have to wait to get into our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We don't usually use the buffet much, but this one was excellent!!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
It was pretty chilly, so we didn't use the pool. We did go in the hot tub, which was great!!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I was not overly thrilled with the entertainment.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very happy and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Crown Princess is an older and smaller ship than I'm used to, but it was well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I really liked the layout of the cabin. Closet area directly across from the bathroom and was very large. Plenty of hangers. Bathroom was typical of cruise ship. The most comfortable bed EVER! Like sleeping on a cloud!

Ship tip

You will love the medallion! Invest in a bracelet or holder for your medallion so you don't have to wear it around your neck. I bought holders that fit on the band of our apple watches that worked great. You can get them on Amazon...it says its' for Carnival, but works fine for Princess medallions!

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

Got on and off the ship. We didn't spend time in Southampton.

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

My favorite port! We did an excursion through Viator and had the best tour guide who was a native. We learned about the German invasion during WW2. I would love to go back!

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

No excursion, on our own. Visited the church my brother-in-law's grandfather was baptized in! Went to a hat shop to buy an authentic Irish "flat cap". Fun day! Great people!

Dublin, Ireland

5 out of 5
Loved Dublin! The pubs and people are so friendly! Walked a lot!

Liverpool, England

Beatles! Beatles! Beatles! Really cool to pull into port and stand on the balcony to hear Beatles music playing loudly in port.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

5 out of 5
Loved Belfast....met some locals in a pub who were so friendly!

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

4 out of 5
No excursion...visited cathedral on our own and then lunch with tea and scones!

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

4 out of 5
No excursion....cute little town...had a great meal at Tucker's Inn!

South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland

5 out of 5
Loved Edinburgh...hope to go back. Walked to the castle....amazing. Did some shopping and tried Haggis...not too bad!!

Le Havre (Paris), France

5 out of 5
We toured Normandy on Princess excursion. Good excursion, nice lunch included. Our tour guide was helpful and very knowledgable. Visiting the sites of the landings during WW2 was sobering!! I'm so glad we chose this excursion

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We chose to walk off early taking our own luggage! So easy, good decision!! We were already used to wheeling our luggage around, so this made sense for us. We walked past all the luggage waiting for the crowd to claim, straight through the door to a waiting cab. I had read that is can be hard to get a cab after disembarkation....not a t 6:30 a.m.!! Went straight to train station got on the train into Waterloo station and hd more fun in London!
