To set the background for my review, this was our 2nd cruise on Celebrity and our 23rd cruise overall.  We previously cruised on the Celebrity Mercury many years ago to Alaska.  We booked this cruise to travel with friends and see 6 islands we have never visited before.  Our cruise took place over Christmas and the New Year holiday.  We did not have any issues with COVID, and we felt that this was the first cruise that we gave little thought to the virus.  Overall, we enjoyed this cruise and are planning to take future cruises on Celebrity.  Like every cruise we have been on, we found that there was a lot of good and a few things that we wished were different.  I am writing a detailed description of our experience to help future travelers.

My wife and I decided we like the bigger (Oasis class 5000+ passenger) ships better than the smaller boats (Equinox was 2700 passenger). While Celebrity is a notch above Royal, we like the level of entertainment and activities that are afforded on the bigger boats. I found this cruise to be very relaxing, the service was great, the ports of call were fun, and we will go on Celebrity again. If you are looking for Broadway style shows and more activities, the bigger cruise ships may be for you.

It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely return to this cruise line. Highly recommend the itinerary and ports of call as a whole.

I was worried about the reviews leading up to this cruise because they were hit or miss. People nitpick, and complain about anything. The entertainment was great, and the food was good. The ship was in good shape. Zero complaints.

The ABC itinerary is fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed exploring these islands and would do it all over again. We love the Celebrity Equinox, a good medium size ship. Our veranda room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The food was great. The entertainment is good.. some shows much better than others but we were well entertained. Looking forward to checking out other Celebrity ships but this was my second time on Equinox and I wouldn’t hesitate to cruise on it again.

This class of ships is a good middle ground for the Celebrity Cruiser. They are not as big and feature packed as the Edge Class, but they are bigger, and a bit more luxurious than the smaller Millennium class ships. This cruise and ship, would be perfect for singles looking to relax and unplug (which was me), couples looking for a nice, romantic cruise vacation, and families with older/adult children all the way up to senior grandparents. There is plenty to keep you entertained, or you can just lounge around, watch movies, and take in the beautiful sunsets. It’s all up to you.

Must honestly say, with the length of the cruise, and what I felt was a decrease in shows and such, topped with the buffet that lacked any seafood, and decreased quality. Those things ended up making it a bit of a long cruise. Got a bit stir crazy, and didn't want to see the buffet by the end. Nothing looked good, after looking at basicly the same stuff for 8 days. Literally ate a burger the last night, that was it. Wished it would of had more up beat shows to see, and entertainment.

Ship and crew were great, veranda cabin was somewhat cramped, WiFi and Phone App glitchy. Activities and entertainment wonderful. Embarkation/Disembarkation perfect. Ports of Call - hit and miss.

Overall, Celebrity get an A on this cruise ship and the itinerary. The ship activities for Christmas and New Year's were well orchastrated and much fun. Even though the ship was short staffed, the existing staff worked diligently to make for a good time. I have already booked another cruise on the Equinox for a different itinerary...so looking forward to it!

Of the twenty or so cruises that we have taken this was in the top five. Given the summer heat I don't think you could have made it more enjoyable. We look forward to our next cruise!

Celebrity’s service is absolutely fantastic, especially in the Retreat.

I really had a good time on this cruise. the ABC islands are to die for. The boat is clean and well kept. The pools could be bigger, there are alot of people on the boat on sea days, but, wouldn't stop me from going again. Staff was lovely. This celebrity cruise (I dont know how they all are) had MANY more older people than I was used to, just a heads up in case you are looking for a younger crowd. PRO TIP: 4-7pm outside on the pool deck is the most wonderful time of the day. everything is open, the sun is setting and the bartenders jason and marlon are LOVELY.

Overall our family had an outstanding cruise aboard Celebrity Equinox. A few improvements could be made that would take it to the next level but I definitely recommend this cruise!

Having taken numerous cruises, including recent sailings on Virgin, Holland America, and Princess, I can say my 5-night Celebrity Equinox cruise stands out as one of my most enjoyable recent experiences. While some aspects like dining have changed since my last Celebrity cruise in 2012, the line still delivers excellent service, entertainment, and ship maintenance. Celebrity strikes a fine balance between upscale and fun, akin to Princess but with slight advantages in cabins, service, and gym facilities. I have fond memories of Celebrity's sophisticated cuisine, which seems to have simplified over time. And Princess offered some special touches like a lobster night that were missing on this shorter Equinox sailing. However, the stellar service, remarkable production shows, and pristine ship condition on Celebrity continue to impress. Compared to Princess, Celebrity Equinox falls slightly behind on technology like interactive medallion app but exceeds on intimate, elegant ship ambience. I would definitely sail Celebrity again to experience their latest vessels, but for now I continue to appreciate the beautiful, well-run mid-sized Equinox. Though aspects have evolved, the core of what makes Celebrity a cut above remains. An outstanding cruise line I highly recommend.

It was so good. The ship floor plan was perfect. Great cruise line. Again, this is my first time sailing with Celebrity.
