Review summary

Overall our family had an outstanding cruise aboard Celebrity Equinox. A few improvements could be made that would take it to the next level but I definitely recommend this cruise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Petite Chef was an outstanding experience not only for the show but also the staff working in the restaurant. Extremely attentive. The staff in the main dining room was outstanding as well. Ellison, I Made and Carene were our servers and Sommelier and they were outstanding. Service in the buffet was also great. My biggest complaint would be the bar staff at the pool. Both bars were very slow to get drinks out to guests and they weren't personable at all. Definitely needs improvement. The food overall was lacking in the dining room. I've definitely had better food. Also, the nickel and diming of lobster and filet mignon is weak. Those should be part of the regular menu for sure on the fancy nights. Having to pay extra for those is ridiculous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Although we didn't experience everything, there always seemed to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows that we saw in the theatre were fantastic. We saw 5 in total and loved them all. Particularly Elysium!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Our children only went to the kids club once for about an hour but it seemed a little boring for them when they were there.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As mentioned above, there was only one blemish at the pool bars but everyone else makes up for that. Our room steward Joseph killed it! So attentive and friendly and just wonderful, especially after finding out he had 18 rooms to attend to.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Beautiful ship overall but definitely in need of some repair in the balcony areas for the rooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved being at the back of the ship. The room had plenty of space for our family of 4.

Ship tip

Go to Le Petite Chef. It's a can't miss.

We went to the Fort but other than that, nothing remarkable.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
I love St. Thomas! We did a private catamaran and it was the best!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Beautiful island and visiting the beach where the planes land and take off was awesome!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
We went to the baths at Virgin Gorda. Very pretty but not very big so take your time if you can.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
We went to the pool and shops area right next to the dock and it was super fun, especially the lazy river. Drinks and food are really expensive though.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Also seamless and smooth
