Review summary

My wife and I decided we like the bigger (Oasis class 5000+ passenger) ships better than the smaller boats (Equinox was 2700 passenger). While Celebrity is a notch above Royal, we like the level of entertainment and activities that are afforded on the bigger boats. I found this cruise to be very relaxing, the service was great, the ports of call were fun, and we will go on Celebrity again. If you are looking for Broadway style shows and more activities, the bigger cruise ships may be for you.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms was good. The decor really does a job making you feel that you were inside a champagne glass. WE did the specialty dining 4-night package. Specialty dining was great!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Movies up on the grass at night was super cool. That was really fun. Cool glass blowing demonstrations.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment wasn't quite as good as the big Royal Caribbean. The music was very good.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
While we didn't travel with children, we did see kids having a really good time on the boat.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We took in the behind-the-scenes tour. Very cool to see some of what goes into keeping those cruises going.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin seemed small. Probably didn't help that we were wedged in between two bigger cabins. The concierge class was worth it though.

Ship tip

Keep your eyes out for Ducks.

I did the same cruise last September for my first ever cruise, so I didn't have anything to compare the entertainment with, but I thought it was all amazing. I'm very happy that you had such a wonderful time throughout!

Excellent comment, as a travel agent I tell people the same thing about Celebrity vs Royal on entertainment. We cruise both lines, Elite and Diamond. Every now and then we feel the need for a “ Royal fix”….water shows, 70’s party, The Quest etc.
