Review summary

This class of ships is a good middle ground for the Celebrity Cruiser. They are not as big and feature packed as the Edge Class, but they are bigger, and a bit more luxurious than the smaller Millennium class ships. This cruise and ship, would be perfect for singles looking to relax and unplug (which was me), couples looking for a nice, romantic cruise vacation, and families with older/adult children all the way up to senior grandparents. There is plenty to keep you entertained, or you can just lounge around, watch movies, and take in the beautiful sunsets. It’s all up to you.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Almost all of the check-in was done through the app in advance. At the terminal, all I had to do was go through routine screening (metal detector and bag x-ray), and they checked my passport.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The quality of the food was good. I didn’t go to any of the speciality restaurants, but the main dining room, Silhouette Dining Room, was very good every night. I ate breakfasts and lunches in the buffet, and they were good as well. The coffee was noticeably improved from my first Celebrity cruise back in 2019, so that’s a much appreciated change.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I didn’t really do much on the ship, outside of hanging out at the Lawn Club and the Martini Bar. The offerings looked of decent quality, but nothing really moved me to attend. The purpose of this cruise was relaxation for me, so that’s mostly what I did.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I didn’t go to any of the shows, but I did hear some good feedback from other guests who did. The various bands and music ensembles around the ship were all decent quality.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My stateroom attendant, Janette, was fantastic! She took good care of me, even opening my door when she would see me coming back to my room. She greeted me by my first name the entire time, which I appreciated. Francis and Matthew were my waiters in the Silhouette Dining Room. They were very attentive and made good recommendations. Annie was the sommelier, and her wine recommendations were spot on! Emil, the host was FANTASTIC! He always found me very good tables on the railings overlooking the lower dining room or in quite corners at the windows.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful and very well maintained. It’s obvious that she’s not brand spanking new, but it’s also obvious that she’s been well loved and taken care of. Everything feels pretty modern, so no outdated decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I sailed in an inside cabin, and it was a nice size for me as a solo traveler. The storage might have been a little tight for 2 people, but it was fine for me. There were no charging outlets or USB ports near the bed, so I had to plug my phone, watch, and other electronics in at the desk outlets. I took a charging cube (with standard US sockets and several USB A ports), and that really came in handy. If there was anything I would critique, it would be to add USB (A and C) charging ports on or near the beds.

Ship tip

Celebrity is a premium brand, so it will be a more elegant experience than your typical mass market cruise (i.e. Carnival or Royal Caribbean). In my opinion, this class of ship is designed for relaxation, experiencing live music performances, and nice dining without spending a fortune on specialty restaurants. The Martini Bar on Deck 4 was always busy and very popular, with its frozen countertops.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
I did not get off the ship this time, but I have been to Grand Cayman before. George Town is a nice place to take in some water-oriented nature activities and some beautiful beaches. Restaurants tend to be good, and the shopping is nice as well. It’s not the most bustling place, but that’s what makes it nice for getting off the ship and wondering around the smaller downtown area.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
I stayed around the port area this time, since I have been to Cozumel before. If you can, make a reservation at one of the resorts and enjoy a nice beach day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I declined their bag porter service and carried my own luggage off after breakfast on the final day. Disembarkation was very easy!
