Review summary

Service was excellent! Shows and entertainment were great! Main dining room menu selection not up to high standards as previous cruises. Celebrity cutting back on higher priced food choices on shorter length sailings even though they are charging you same price per night as longer sailings. You now have to pay extra for lobster, rack of lamb, pork chops, fish, seafood, and many beef selections as they are only offered for an extra price in main dining room and at specialty restaurants with a high price point. Main dining menu is repetitive, with limited appetizers and main course options. Quality of food is still good but has also declined. Even cutting back on quality of perks offered to their loyalty customers. Time of loyalty reception was midday which was inconvenient for most guests to attend. Food and drink options were limited and in short supply as compared to other past cruises. Not a good way to treat your loyalty customers who keep you afloat!

Embarkation

Fort Lauderdale port is an easy place to embark from; friendly and efficient.

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Celebrity has decided to cut back on their menu selections in the main dining room on all 6 night or less cruises. We were informed after inquiring about the limited menu options in the main dining room. There are limited appetizer and main course selections each night. Classic options are the same each night with only 2-3 different additional choices to select from. There is no longer lobster on chic nights, no rack of lamb, or pork chops on any of the menus. The fish, seafood, and beef selections have been deleted or are very limited. Quality and taste of food has also declined from previous Celebrity cruises. Celebrity has made this decision, however customers still pay the same price per night on both short and long cruises. As a Celebrity loyalty member, this is appalling. They are serving and trying to push the better food choices in their specialty restaurants, which have a high additional price point. Totally unacceptable! The buffet selection and quality was the same as previous cruises, with minimal changes.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Not as many activities as larger cruise ships offer but perfect for those of us looking for a more quiet, relaxing time with minimal kids and distractions. Another reason they shouldn’t be limiting the main dining room selections. May be time to explore a Princess, Holland America, or Virgin Voyages cruise experience.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Nightly shows were very good as usual.

Children's Programs

Retired with no young children. Choosed Celebrity for that reason.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service all around the ship was excellent. From room steward, dining room wait staff, buffet staff and all other ship personnel were exceptional, friendly, and very welcoming.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All areas of the ship were clean and well maintained. Noticed staff around ship cleaning high traffic areas and wiping handrails and other equipment used by passengers. Bathrooms around ship were clean and had an attendant. Sanitizer stations were around the ship and a staff member was outside buffet entrances with a squirt of hand sanitizer upon entering for each guest.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great as usual. Roomy with lots of storage for clothes. Bathroom is a decent size. This cabin had an extended balcony and was located in the far back of ship which was very quiet.

Ship tip

Expect to get a limited menu in dining room if on a 6 night or less cruise. Celebrity cutting back even though customers still paying same price per night as longer cruises. No lobster, rack of lamb, pork chops, and very limited fish, seafood and beef options.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Port is clean, easy to embark and disembark. All staff friendly and helpful. Did not do any excursions here.

George Town, Grand Cayman Did not visit port

Chose not to get off ship that was tendered. All cruise ship excursions were well overpriced.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Cruise Port shopping area was overcrowded. Did not choose to do an excursion. Prices of excursions through cruise ship are well overpriced.

Bimini, Bahamas Did not visit port

Due to weather conditions, captain had to omit this port and took us to Falmouth, Jamaica instead.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy and hassle free.

They had the same limited options in the MDR on my 12 night cruise last month.

Glad to hear that everything except the food was wonderful. Although I do cruises that are a minimum of 7 nights, I'll keep your words in mind in case they decide to make those unfortunate changes for all cruises.
