Get assigned to the Golden Pearl restaurant. The food will be the same, but maybe the staff will not be overworked. If you are over 50, got to the adult pool at the back and try the Serenity section on deck 12.

Ignore the colour scheme when boarding as you do get used to it. The price paid is budget compared to some other cruise lines and to a certain extent so is the product, but it is definitely great value for money.

Take in consideration how much alcohol, soft drinks, coffee, tea etc... you think you will drink on your cruise. Carnival offers drink packages that could save you money. Please check them out before you cruise, they are cheaper to buy before you get on the ship.

If you like comedy shows GO EARLY. They definitely fill up quick. The staff is very fun when it comes to karaoke, and all the deck events.

Take note of the decks/floors that go all the way from the front to the back. You'll be walking around the ship a lot and you want to get oriented quickly.

I been in 144 cruises in different ships but I notice the quality of the food is very poor and the food the same every day also I understand you need to keep the price down and the display of the food not that great however I think the steak house was great you need more of this kind of restaurants

Try the BBQ really liked it, much better in my opinion than the other Lido offerings.
