Review summary

Overall a good cruise, I prefer the Caribbean but for what it was I had a good time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
By far Long Beach was the easiest, fastest embarkation I’ve had.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The ship was older but still clean and staff was great. Food was average.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were smaller, and there wasn’t a ton of seating around the pool but as with any cruise the early bird gets the worm.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows, DJ, and music was excellent. Never a lack of stuff to do.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I prefer Carnival for their staff on deck. Never have to wait long for a drink.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
As stated before, an older ship and smaller pools but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Casino was good but promenade wasn’t the best.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good size, very clean and comfortable bed. That’s all I need for my cabin.

Ship tip

If you like comedy shows GO EARLY. They definitely fill up quick. The staff is very fun when it comes to karaoke, and all the deck events.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

3 out of 5
No excursion, just embarked

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Was expecting better but then again I’m not a fan of Mexico. No excursions this time around

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Actually was worried about this port but was our best experience. Found an all inclusive hotel to go to for $35 a person and drank and ate all day...as if the ship doesn’t have enough food.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
Did a tour and ended up at the beach. Far too many beach sellers for me but tell them no and they are on their way.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, very easy and well managed. If all embarkation and disembarkations were this easy life would be great!

Sorry guys, I cannot remember. We actually found it through other cruisers and just went on our own.

which resort did you get a day pass for in Mazatlan? Every day pass for mazatlan I've looked at is around $70... which adds up for our family of 5. Thanks :-)

Which resort did you go to for $35 per person in Mazatlan? Did you book privately or with cruiseline?
