Overall the cruise was good but a few things could use improvement. Compared to previous cruises, the food was not fantastic. The last cruise I took, I was photographing the food but not this time. The food tasted good and there were many choices. The portions were a bit small but you can eat as much as you like. The waiter and staff were fantastic and a lot of fun. Our stateroom was kept extremely clean and having a balconey was a bonus that I highly recommend. The shore excursions in Skagway were a disappointment- not very organized but this is not the fault of the cruise line. They need larger signs for the buses. Enjoyed the whalewatching excursion very much. The gardens in BC were pretty but it was too late in the evening to really enjoy them and more time would be nice.

Excellent activities on board, but I thought the pricing for internet and drinks were too high.

There was a friendly atmosphere and plenty to do all the time.

Bring walkie talkies, small cooler and zip lock bags for picnics when going on shore.( Have room service bring sandwiches and lots of cookies). Especially the train ride in Skagway. Power strip was great to plug in extra stuff. Only one plug in your room also bring an alarm clock. No clock in your room.

With the tip policy everyone was great friendly and glad to see you until the tips were passed out or posted to your charge card when you reached port. After the tips were in the bank then it was like you are in their way, and they want you off the ship even though you are waiting for them to allow you off the ship. The cruise was the best until the last day. The last day hurt how I felt about the entire cruise.

Ship was very nice. We had a balcony, and highly recommend this for Alaska voyage. All areas of the ship were clean and nice.

The overall impression of the ship was that she was nice-looking, well arranged and had a staff and crew of above-average knowledge and pleasantness.

I found the ship to be too "Vegas" glitzy for my taste, but it was organized, comfortable (if a little to hot most of the time), clean and stuffed to the gills with friendly, helpful staff. I loved listening to the Natualist (Michele) explain what we were seeing, where we were going and pointing out any animals or marine mammals.

The food buffets were ordinary and long lines so food was always cold before you sat down to eat. I did however, enjoy the "sit down" dinners. Some service people were rude (in the bar/lounge areas and didn't even smile); some did not speak English. Room service does not include hot breakfast, so I was disappointed with that. The room we had was fabulous and so was the steward! They took really good care of us. People who sign up for cruises should have ground rules; some behavior was unacceptable. Shoving in lines, etc. The auctioneer for Park West was really rude. Although we ended up buying several pieces, I thought he was rude to customer. Tom was very nice and respectful and even the auctioneer was rude to him. I would not buy art from the cruise ship again because of the auctioneer. He didn't care about anybody.

Carnival's "fun ship" fell flat in Alaska. I've been on Carnival before and had a decent time, but after being on other cruise lines, I realized just how bad Carnival is in comparison. This ship was exceptionally bad with very few activities and when the "fun" crew was involved, it seemed like they need resusitating! This crew was as lifeless as a brick wall!!!! I will say the dance shows were pretty good though.

I had cruised on the Spirit when it was only a year old. It is in need of some public room face lifts...fabric stains and wear is showing. Cabins are kept quite nice, clean and stewards are very accommodating.

The ship and crew were outstanding! Ports of call and excursions were well planned and catered to our every need!

We chose to sail on the carnival cruise lines because of the more casual atmosphere and younger crowd (from what I had been told by others). Our ship was the Spirit. It was fantastic. We got an inside stateroom on a summer Alaskan cruise - Room was dark when it was light outside late into the night. So many things to do on the ship we were up half the night almost every night. The days at sea were full of entertainment, food or quiet time if you wanted it. The ship is so large that you could find a nice quiet place to take your book and read and be alone!

We were skeptical about "cruising" but our trip with Carnival was so much fun. Everyone involved with the Carnival Spirit was friendly and helpful, the ship is spectacular, and the itinerary was perfect. We had so much to do that I never touched either of the books I brought to read. We will do it again.

The people on the ship were all very helpful. I really enjoyed the room service and all the food was prepared so well. I would love to go again sometime.

This cruise was an awesome experience! The ship and its crew were great! There were fun activities and they helped you get the best out of every port! You can tell that the crew loves what they do! I can't wait to go back!

Ship was essentially clean but showing indications of wear and lack of attention to details in maintenance, both inside and out. Service crew was excellent, officers and customer service aloof and seemingly uncaring. Empire Room food bad and Matre'D not responsive.

All elements of the cruise aboard ship were excellent except the food. The service staff were excellent in all respects. The ship's facilities and activities were excellent.

I loved the ship. I really enjoyed working out in the gym overlooking the ocean. Great view. It had everything I expected and more. I just wish the slide had been available. Probably because it was an Alaska cruise.

The ship is great. Cruising is a great way to see Alaska and the Carnival Spirit is the best!
