Don't get the expensive drink package. Buy bottles on the boat and get the soda package instead. The first night has taxes on paid drinks.

If you have any limitations or need assistance let Carnival know in advance and it will make you trip a lot smoother. I learned from my friends about the Special Needs Group and to ask to have a shower chair in my room, get wheelchair assistance to my room, etc.

Your cruise is what you make of it. Carnival attracts a certain crowd and that crowd is not right for me.

There are only two formal nights, so you don’t need to dress formal every night at dinner like the old days. If you plan on going to the steakhouse you will need to dress formal for that dinner as well. Bring a power strip, If you drink alcohol and more than 5-6 drinks a day, the Cheers package will save you a lot of money. If you are not a drinker, but like sodas with you meals and in general, you will want to look at the bubbles package.

Have patience on embarkation day, be nice to the staff and do everything you can to do as many of the activities as possible.

Don't eat breakfast or lunch on the Lido Deck ( Mermaids Grill), it's too crowded up there, always long lines. Eat in Normandie instead. NO lines and you are waited on while the food in the same! Even better at times!!!

Plan your own excursions..you can do better and cheaper than the ships offerings. Do the early seating.
