Could not have asked fore more, we had a blast, so much fun that we booked our next cruise for the time, same ship next year. Can’t wait!,, If you are looking for fun, relaxation, good food, great drinks and fantastic memories, the Carnival Pride and it’s crew and staff will not disappoint. In fact, they will exceed your expectations every step of the way.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation started off pretty rough, the debarkation process of the previous crew was delayed and everyone showed up early for our cruise instead of their assigned times. The staff was frankly a bit overwhelmed, however they worked extremely hard to get things back on track and in the end we were only delayed about 30 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was superb, the drinks were awesome, definitely got our money’s worth with the Cheers Package. If you drink more than 6 drinks a day it pays for itself. David’s Steakhouse was a great experience too and well worth the extra charge of $35.00.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is always so,etching to do, Saffie the Cruise Director and her staff had activities, shows and fun planned every step of the way. Of coarse, if you wanted to just relax, there was that option as well, we loved the Serenity Deck.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
FANTASTIC! We loved the shows, the completions, the piano bar, the live entertainment the Punchliner Comedy Club and all the venue onboard. There is something for everyone.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Friendly, helpful and caring dosen’t Even begin to describe how wonderful the service, staff and crew were on our trip. We enjoyed every part of this trip, but the biggest standout were the people of the crew.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship design was awesome, and overall it was very, very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was excellent in every way but one. It was too hot inside, so warm I couldn’t sleep for the first couple of nights, finally after pure exhaustion I slept on the 3rd night but never very well. We mentioned it the first day, but nothing ever happened. Might try to bring a fan next year just to blow some air around. Also, there is only one plug outlet, so be sure to bring a power strip with you and an extension cord if you use a CPAP machine. They were able to get me an extension cord.
Ship tip
There are only two formal nights, so you don’t need to dress formal every night at dinner like the old days. If you plan on going to the steakhouse you will need to dress formal for that dinner as well. Bring a power strip, If you drink alcohol and more than 5-6 drinks a day, the Cheers package will save you a lot of money. If you are not a drinker, but like sodas with you meals and in general, you will want to look at the bubbles package.
Due to a back injury I was unable to use the excursion we planned, we did go to the little market area outside the ship, but it was not very impressive. There were a couple of shops that were nice, but overall the place was run down and the sellers were aggressive and rude.
We were about a half an hour ahead of schedule and the process was very smooth. I would recommend checking your bags the night before and picking them up once you leave the ship and then taking them to your car yourself or using a porter. Much easier for you.
