Review summary

Carnival Pride is a clean ship. It could use some updating. The staff and crew were friendly and always there to help and greet you. We did not travel with children but noticed there were a lot of activities to offer the little ones.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting into the port was crazy because the Pride was late due to weather and that couldn't be helped. Embarkation was quick once we were able to get in the port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining food was good and comparable to other cruise lines. The buffet was ok. Buffet is set up odd and food was ok. Guys Burgers are excellent!

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Ate here every day. Burgers and fries were excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My husband used the gym and said it was good. We enjoyed the violin group, Imprint very much. The trivia was fun although some were topics that were not familiar with. The serenity pool area was a relaxing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The stage shows were ok. They were not the productions that we are used to on RC. The performers were good but the shows were lacking. Saffie the cruise director was endlessly bubbly and busy. She did a great job with the Love and Marriage show which is always a hit on any cruise line.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward Christopher did a great job everyday and our waiters Dickson and Anslee were fabulous, fun and attentive.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It is easy to find your way around the Pride. The ship is clean. The only place I thought needed better cleaning was the buffet area. The tables were quickly cleared of dishes but never wiped with more than a dry rag to push the crumbs off the table. The tables in the buffet area have a ledge and they were always filled with sticky syrup, jelly and crumbs. If you leaned against the table you would have to change your shirt. This was a daily issue not just a one time problem.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. Christopher our cabin steward was great and kept us well supplied with fresh towels.

Ship tip

Relax and have fun. No need to rush and do everything offered. Enjoy your vacation.

Ports of call

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
We did the dune buggy excursion and had a fantastic time. We had the option to wear or not wear a helmet. Once to the highest point there was a short hike and a beautiful beach to wander on before going back to the dune buggys to return. Lunch was provided by Carnival and it was good. The island is clean. The beach were were on was rocky and some swim shoes may have been a good idea.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Nassau just doesn't feel safe. I wouldn't go off the ship on my own. We did the Top 10 excursion. Sadly some of the people with us got drunk and many that wanted to actually hear the guide and enjoy the tour couldn't. Mr Brown the tour guide tried his best for those that did take the tour to repeat himself. The sites along the tour were interesting. The restaurant at the end was a bit expensive for what they offered and we did not order here.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
The port was clean and seemed like they are really trying to make it something other than just a shipping port. We did the VIP Yacht sailing and had a great time! The waters were rough and only a few got off to snorkel. They did say the reef was beautiful. The lunch on board was very good. Loved the caramelized coconut cookie. Kiko and Troy did a great job sailing and hosting the excursion.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest disembarkation of all our cruises!
