Review summary

This was my first cruise and I can say without a doubt it will not be my last. There truly was not a single thing that I did not enjoy on the trip. Nothing beats waking up in the morning and not seeing anything but ocean, or getting rocked to sleep at night, hearing the sound of the ocean as you fall asleep. My list could go on and on, but without a doubt not only will this be my first of many cruises, if will be my first of many cruises on the Pride.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I could give the embarkation less than 5 stars just because of the long line and the 2-3 hour wait to get on the ship, but I won’t for a few reasons. First, I’m going on a vacation, all I got is time, so why get frustrated with a long line at embarkation. Second, the ship was late docking from the prior cruise, stuff happens, its part of life. The staff could very well have been miserable because rather than get some time to relaxe they went from embarkation to debarkation back to back. And every single crew member did it with a smile on their face. That is a great experience. Getting a picture of our group before boarding was great, I bought that picture. The walk up the ramps and to finally board the ship is an excitement filled walk that I cannot explain.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was great. The main dining room food was all good and the staff was very good. Guys burgers were awesome, the burrito bar was fantastic and the pizza was a great late night snack.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Won a beer pong competition, played bingo, played trivia, watched amazing shows at the Taj Mahal. There was always something to do on the ship which unfortunately makes the week go by faster but staying busy is the point and it was perfect.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows in Taj were broadway quality. I’d see every show again, on my next cruise. The piano entertainer, duo that sang and guitar soloist were very good. Got to meet on if the performers, Kate. She’s a great talent, nice person and very beautiful. The string trio, Black Diamonds I believe they are called, was amazing. The lead violinist is such an amazing talent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone on the staff was extremely helpful, nice and obviously love their jobs. Saffie is the best Cruise Director.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was spotless. Everywhere I went it was clean, the layout was confusing at first but that was just because I had not been on a cruise before. After a few hours I was able to find my way around without any problems.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Not a single complaint about the cabin.

Ship tip

Have patience on embarkation day, be nice to the staff and do everything you can to do as many of the activities as possible.

Disembarkation

This went very quick and smooth. The instruction provided by Saffie the day before is a huge help.
