Was a nice vacation, but not end all be all by jefferyshall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The boat was very clean and personnel were very nice and attentive. There wasn't much space on the ship so I always felt crowded, the times that food (besides main dining) and activities were available was very chaotic. The pools were too small and the fact that there were two didn't help much because one seemed to always be closed. For the cruise line that is supposed to be more for families, I was not at all impressed by the activities available for children. We brought my 12 year old daughter, who is very out going and makes friends instantly, she attended one initial Circle C event and went back many times to check out what they were doing, but she never stayed. So that should tell you something if a 12 year old would rather be with their parents than to be off free on their own with other kids their age. That would not have been so bad, but the shore excursions weren't that great either and times in port were far too short so you really couldn't let lose and enjoy yourself because you had to be back so quickly and you had to watch the clock. I would much rather have skipped going to Port Canaveral and been able to spend more time at the two Bahamas locations. Lastly, being a smaller ship it was tossed about pretty easily during the ship and many people were very sea sick for two of the four sea days. We parked next to the Carnival Magic once and the Pride was dwarfed by the newer Magic.

Great service, fun time by CruisinSuz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Brunch and late dining featured very good food and service. Buffet food was good, also, but we are not fans of confusing layout and waiting in line. Very easy getting on/off the ship. Longer stays at the ports would be nice. Over all a very good value from a port close to our home.

Enjoyable by Nancymaury

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We enjoyed the lovely suite and veranda, the wonderful crew, delicious food. However, the clientele was quite different from what we have experienced on other ships. I know that the ship is more family oriented - and that's great. All and all, it was a lovely trip.

To cruise with carnival or not to cruise with carnival? by Nater2210

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We boarded the cruise and all was ok at first. The kids were so excited for Camp Carnival. The first day was ridiculous. The drop off line was about 45 minutes long. And that was for one age group. If you had kids of different age groups you had to go to different locations and wait on those lines as well. The whole process could have been simplified and faster. My youngest for some reason was not on the roster so they wrote him in each day which delayed the whole drop off process When I asked how this could be fixed each person told me it wasn't their job to do it. But it wasn't until the 4 th day when I got really annoyed did anyone make it their job to rectify the issue. The dining room looked more like a diner than a dining room. It was nice but diner nice. The "elegant" night, some guests showed up in jeans and tshirts others wore tuxedos and gowns. On Other cruises I went on, they frowned upon you coming to diner inappropriately dressed. That's why they offer other places to eat. The service was spotty. Some people were wonderful. Others were not present half the time. My credit card company froze my card because I went out of state. The cruise line did not notify me until I tried to order a drink at 10:30 at night. They could have notified me sooner so that i could take care of the problem without interfering with my own time without the kids. I had to stop the fun to call the credit card company. By the time I was done the evening was done too. I had to pick the kids up. It was clean. Every where you looked someone was cleaning. However, it wasn't clean enough. My 6 year old ended up with the norovirus on day 5 of the cruise. That was the end for me. I had to stay in my cabin to take care of him. I ordered room service which was a limited menu of sandwiches. My daughter got a grill cheese sandwich which she only took one bite of. The meat on my Reuben sandwich was brown. I always thought cornbeef was pink/red? It was gross. For breakfast, room service offered bagels or cereal. The cream cheese tasted chalky like it was made from a powder or something. The coffee was mildly warm. The disembarkation was so disorganized. The line wrapped around in circles. It was like one big cluster f$!@. Then try to do it with a child who is not feeling well. It was frustrating to say the least I will cruise again but not on carnival.

our cruise to the carbbean on the Carnival Pride 3/24-31/03 by evercruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

After all the mishaos on some Carnival cruises, I must say our cruise on the Pride wasd very plesant and dispelled any angst that the recent news had created. My wife, my granddaughter and I had a very good time. The staff was very attentive and provided a very high level of service. hey appeared to enjoy our shorty and friendly encountewrs and were always reasdy to please us. Of course, the friendliness and respecty was mutual. my suggestion to cruisers: learn the names of your attendants. They do remember yours as old friends would. I definitely cruise again and suggest additional sailings to other ports of call. Anothjer suggestion is the improvementy of the baltimore tewrminal. Cape Canaveral would be a good example.

I did not like the staff in kids camp. They did not take care of kids in the camp and kids were with us all the time. We couldn't do much in Cruise because we were baby sitting kids all the time. I will never recommend anyone to this cruise.

Too long before land. by holjes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my first cruise and i was very excited and it wasnt horrible by any means but 3 days before we get to Fl was way to long. And then when we get to FL Cocoa beach was pretty yucky ive been to alot of beaches in FL and this was the worse. I was also sad about such a short trip to Freeport it was the best stop on the trip and it was only a few hours. The food was wedding food but im spoiled my fiance is a chef and we cook amazing dinners everynight. David Steak House was amazing i was impressed with service and food. And the staff on the Carnival was amazing. So all in all a ok vacation. Next time i will leave from FL so i can have more days on Islands.

Carnival Pride exceeded our expectations by SunnyMitra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My husband and I enjoyed our suite, the staff, the service, the food and the Punchline Comedy Club. We would recommend this experience to everyone. The population on the ship ranged from kids to spring breakers to grandparents. Carnival did a great job of appealling each group.

Very nice by BarbieQue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I would have to say that if we wouldn't have been sick for half the cruise after eating something the very first day it would have been absolutely perfect. We couldn't eat anything or do anything until Wednesday and then we were kinda still not up to par. Thursday we could venture out and had a great time in the Bahama's and Friday went Kayaking in the Bahama's and went on a private beach. We did make it to the dinner on Friday night and were able to eat all the meals on Saturday. The employees were absolutely wonderful and made you really fell special. The food that we were able to eat the second half of the cruise was really good too. I would recommend this cruise.

Wonderful time by Melimmy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a wonderful time on the carnival pride. The food, alcohol, and staff were out of this world. I do no have a negative thing to say about the cruise itself. I was not happy with the CoCo beach excursion but I know that is not carnival's fault. Special thanks to Kirk, Robin, Sassy, Levi and Rossana. We had a wonderful time.

The cruise that could of been..but wasn't by Sadcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Had this been my first cruise it would have been my last. I have taken four cruise with carnival, my parents have taken over twenty. We have always been very happy and highly recommend this mode of travel. With that being said this cruise was one big disappointment after another. Boarding the cruise was delayed by hours, the PA system couldn't be heard so we had no idea what was happening. Once aboard the disappointments just compounded. From having food served on dirty plates, gum stuck to it, lipstick stains on glasses. Food ordered not delivered. Room service was slow, on three different days I had I call the guest services to see if it was even open. The pizza was wonderful of you could get any, extremely long lines, thirty minute waits in the line. Seriously two people trying to serve a ship that was sold out. Getting a cocktail during dinner was hit or miss. The elevator dropped two floors, thank goodness I wasn't on it. The poor girls that were looked so scared. It was then out of service rest of cruise. The only way to get a deck chair was to go at eight am. We went on three different nights and times to try and see comedy show, was never a sit. The gentlemen that manned the doors for the night club, were borderline offensive. Grabbing at my sister, making comments about her. They looked and sounded like perverts. Getting off the ship was awful, we had to stand outside in he freezing cold. I came home from vacation wanting another and that has never happened.

Carnival Pride Cruise by cruiser100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were very satisified with the accomadations, service staff, activities. We all had a fun time. I would have liked to have more free dancing lessions and my grandson who is 18 was not able to go to teens program yet was not able to go to serenity area of ship so he was sort of left out of things.

Pride cruise by Cruizin72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is probably an ok first cruise if you want to gamble and shop. Having been on a few other cruises this cruise didn't stack up to the other cruises. Food wasn't as varied or as good. I felt like the excursion were drastically overpriced and very short 2-4 hours including travel. The itinerary was horrible, only 2 short partial days in the Bahamas and 4.5 days and nights at sea. Royal Carribean has a private beach day on their own island with a cookout, beach towels and chairs, free beverages and very reasonable excursions and much more reasonably priced adult beverages, Carnival you have to pay $50-$100+ per person for 3-4 hour beach excursions and that includes travel time want a towel or chair? you can rent one at additional cost. Who wants to pay $200-$400 to take the family to the beach for a couple of hours? Entertainment wasn't up to par with other cruises either and there was never enough seating, not because of quality of entertainment but because there was nothing else to do on the ship. if they would increase speed to get to warmer weather (we did 6-8 knots down and 22 knots returning) cruisers could at least enjoy the sun decks a little. There were also allot of things that Carnival charges for that are complimentary on other cruise lines because they know your stuck on the ship like shopping and gambling. Look to Royal Carribean, Celebrity, or Princess for a much better quality cheaper overall cruise, look at the excursion costs and itinerary before you book.

First time on a cruise by kayakdrm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My daughter and I sailed from Baltimore on Feb. 17th.. Since we were both first timers, we relied totally on our Cruises Only travel agent's suggestions. Everything she suggested was perfect including the balcony room. The staff of the Carnival Pride was friendly, helpful, and did everything possible to make our trip the very best it could have been. There was entertainment to suit everyone's likes. The food was excellent, both in the main dining room and on Deck 9, and the variety far exceeded our expectations. We did purchase our shore excursions before our sailing date (per our agent's suggestion), since certain ones sell out early. We did wish we could have spent more time in Freeport. Our tour guide, Bradley, was a true gem. He was knowledgable in his country's history, it's people, medicinal and poisonous plants, native and non-native animals, it's economy, and the fact that it's considered an off-shore bank. We certainly would recommend this cruise. We would perhaps choose a date that did NOT be the same as a mid-winter school break.

Fun and relaxing! by Love2vacation

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great time on the Carnival Pride. The ship is beautiful and easy to navigate. The state room was nicer than usual for an inside cabin and the steward was wonderful. The food was very good and plentiful. The wait staff was terrific. Everyone was very friendly. on the other hand, I did not think that the variety shows were as good as the shows on Royal Caribbean or Princess. The singers were not great and I thought that some of the costumes were tacky and inappropriate for children. There isn't enough time spent in Freeport so you really weren't able to tour the island. also, there wasn't a lot to do on board during the last at sea day although it was pouring and we could not sit outside. That said, I would go back on the Pride if the price is good because the Baltimore port is very convenient for me.

Enjoyed by GONE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I found the experience to be just what I expected from the crew and staff of the ship. They were very warm, courteous and always helpful and accomodating. My wife had some complaints about the food served on the ship however, trying to please her in that area is very difficult. I would like to see another stop substituted for the Freeport stop or at the least, increase the time spent on that stop to allow late risers to have an opportunity to visit the Island.
