terrible food by mychocolatekiss

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The food on this ship was horrible..As bad as I hate McDonald's I would have rather ate there..The food was cool, bland and no big variety. It was the same thing everyday. I stopped eating Wednesday wen I discovered it cold messy and nasty. I have never cruised before so i was hoping my first dream cruise was great but CARNIVAL turned it into a nightmare. I was gonna actually plan my next cruise with you all. But I am seriously reconsidering.

Carnival Pride to Bahamas by mel641

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is my second time taking this cruise out of Baltimore and I would highly recommend it. The ship is nicely decorated and well maintained. I had a slight issue this time with the room and the staff responded quickly to fix my problem and apologized profusely. The entertainment was a little lacking but to be fair, I didn't go the show most nights. Loved the band that performed in the Starry Night lounge. They were fantastic! The food was better this time around. We had a group of 6 and we ate in the dining room every night. Loved the didga's and even had some of the healthy choices. Everything was very good. I would do this one again and would recommend it to others

Great Time by FourFriends

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Had a great time on this cruise.  Went with three friends.  Have been on other Carnival Ships and this was one of the nicer ships.  Food was good, but not exceptional.  Pizza was delicious.  Room steward was very nice and helpful.  Also, staff in dining room very nice and friendly.  Cruise had a lot of activities offered.  Overall, very nice vacation for price paid.

Great Staff!! by fistbreakscar83

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Specifically, I thought that the ship was really beautiful.  We had an ocean suite, and I must admit that I thought that it would be a tad bigger, as well as have a longer balcony, due to the price.  We also bought along our twelve month old baby - with only me and my partner to watch after her (no other friends or family onboard with us).  This was a challenge to put it lightly.  I would never suggest to anyone that it is a good idea to bring a one year old on a cruise unless you have several family members in which to assist you.  Our housekeeping staff members for our suite were amazing; great, speedy, and friendly service.  The steak house was also amazing.  I am a vegetarian, so I stuck to only the fish products which were of the highest quality.  We ate there twice while on board.  The chef there was the friendliest individual imagined when it came to our one year old.  I truly believe that the staff at the steak house helped us in the extreme challenge of handling our baby in such a different environment and routine, than which she was used to.  I highly recommend priority embarkment and deembarkment; this is the only way in which to go.  Also upon deembarkment, I would highly suggest utilizing the self-service method of doing it yourself so that you can get off of the ship as quickly as possible - we chose this option even with having a one year old (we utilize a "Tula").

Carnival 7 Night Bahama Cruise from Baltimore by brianfranklin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Over all, we had a great time on the trip. We live in Pittsburgh, PA, so a cruise without flying was very appealing to us. This was our 2nd cruise, and my wife & I took our 4 & 2 year old with us, and it was only about a 4 hour drive to get there. Camp Carnival was great; it gave us some alone time, and the kids really enjoyed all of the activities. I would definitely recommend a balcony suite. All of the staff were courteous & helpful. My only complaints were the food, and the awful process of getting off the ship once we arrived back in Baltimore.

I've never tasted more bland, disgusting food in my life at the buffet/cafeteria. I'm sure people who are incarcerated eat better food than what was being served there. Even something as simple as a muffin or hamburger was terrible. The pizza was OK, so that's what we would have for lunch, and we all ate cereal for breakfast. The formal sit-down dinners at the Normandie Restaurant were much better. The wait staff was great, and the dinners were good; I'd compare the food there to a TGI Fridays or Applebee's. We didn't find out until almost the last day that you could also have breakfast & lunch there, or we would've taken advantage of that much more.

The only other problem was getting off the ship back in port. Carnival kick's you out of your room around 9am, and you're forced to congregate in an entertaining area for hours until you're called to get off. With two young children, it was horrible for us and everyone around. I think we finally were able to disembark a little before noon.

Our Honeymoon by fbroadus903

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first time on a cruise for me and my husband. We wanted to do something different for our Honeymoon and we picked the perfect adventure.  It was never a dull day on this ship. If my body was not on my graveyard shift (work schedule), I would not have missed a lot of daytime activities. Most days I did fight might sleep so that I would not miss anything. HaHa.

I would highly recommend but also for anyone such as myself who can't swim or first time going on a boat please bring any type of motion sickness meds that would be helpful.  I was totally aware of this and I only had to use my sea bands once and that was my last night on board. I guess because the ship was moving faster to get back to Baltimore.

The food was non stop. You could never go hungry. The staff was excellent. You could ask anyone on that ship for details and everyone new the answers to everything. You can wash your clothes and iron.

My husband and I went to the gym everyday which we love so we were excited to find that on board.

The live entertainment was awesome. We took into the movies also. Really felt like home.

We will be planning another trip again so thank you for everything that we could hope for on our Honeymoon. Love

Dining Room Attire by chiaramontea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Service, staff, and food were great. Shows were excellent.  Been on a couple of other cruise lines and their shows do not compare to Carnival's -- costumes etc. are the best.  Only concern is that the attire for the dining room is not enforced.  Do not feel that the dining room is a place for short shorts for baseball caps.  If a person has a medical condition and must wear a cap -- that is fine - but to sit at a dinner table with a baseball cap on is unacceptable, in my opinion.  There are many other options available for dining other than the dining room -- Men are not forced to wear jackets and ties for dinner; leave the shorts and caps to the deck areas.  Overall cruise was great -- just concerned about the dining attire.

My sister and I are still smiling from all of the fun we had! If I ever get the chance to do it again I will.  Best vacation we ever had. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We laughed until our sides hurt. The food was great. But truly enjoyed the entertainment. Especially Reynold Senn at the piano bar. Half Moon Cay is the most beautiful beach in the world. Heaven!

We had a nice time by pamela8008

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The trip was relaxing.  Dining experience left a lot to be desired.  The ship is old but comfortable.  All staff was polite but not overly welcoming.  Food was edible but nothing outstanding.  Been on five cruises with Carnival and the menu has been the same on al five cruises.

Greatest!!!!! by denisej054

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The greatest time of my life.  All the staff were wonderful.  They all made me feel as though I was part of a big family.  The shows were fantastic.  Food was a surprise.  A very large selection every night.  I can not say enough how the crew took such great care of us.  Made sure every need was met, no matter what it was.  I am 60 years old and a double amputee.  I could get around the ship with no problem.  The ship was laid out so that I could go anywhere aboard by myself.  All I can say is thank you carnival pride for help me having the trip of my life time.  I truly hope that I can go again in the near future.  Carnival Pride is the greatest.

A Mixed Experience by markfinks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

To start with the positive, the stateroom was nice, clean and well taken care of; the crew was friendly and helpful; the food was good; and our shore excursions were enjoyable.  On the other hand, our use of the balcony was limited by the loud talking, smoking neighbors; the entertainment emphasised FUN too much for us (i.e., it was always LOUD).  We concluded we will be happier on other cruise lines such as Princess or Holland America.

Carnival Pride provides a fantastic vacation by acouria

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a fantastic experience. The Carnival Pride staff was (better than RC) great and very helpful. We love the afternoon tea, the food overall was better than expected, the towel robes in the cabin were a plus, also the beach towel in the cabin that could be use when you go to port is a great addition. The spa steam and dry sauna were great with the glass wall so you were able to get the daylight in the sauna and not feel confined. We loved the spa and gym facilities overall with indoor jacuzzi for those persons sensitive to sunlight it is a great option with lounging chairs indoors. We also like the Serenity section of the ship, although it could be made larger since lots of people use it and it would be important to make the pool more handicap accessible with a ramp and handlebars to the pool.

it was really nice that for the cabin shower Carnival was able to provide a portable chair as an option for handicap even if a handicap cabin was not available.

Also the value for the cruise was very good and we got a free upgrade to a balcony.

We look forward to more itineraries from Carnival Pride from Baltimore after the ship get refurbished.

Thank you !!! Carnival and cheap cruises we will be back.

Bait and Switch by ebersol72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The only reason we took this cruise was the itinerary  which included Turks Island.  Before sailing from Baltimore  they announced the ship would not be going to Turks Island because of the threat of a hurricane.  Actually on Sunday it was a Tropical Storm over Turks which moved toward the Bahamas our new destination by Monday.  By Wednesday when we were supposed to arrive at Turks it had passed over the Bahamas and was headed for Bermuda. We were unhappy with the ports of Cape Canaveral and Nassau the last time we took this cruise and very disappointed by this switch.

We have taken about forty cruises in our lifetime and have taken only Cruises which do not involve flying due to health lately.

Spectacularly nice! by sefong1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I never took a cruise before.  I am happy to report that the 7 day cruise my wife, mother, son, and I took from Baltimore to the Eastern Caribbean on the Carnival Pride exceeded my expectations.  Food was excellent.  Room (with balcony) was wonderful.  Service was spectacular.  Enjoyed the onboard entertainment--especially the comedy shows.  Will rebook soon!

The Carnival Pride by saidkali1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our experience onboard the Carnival Pride was a good one. Starting from our embarkation,it went smoothly and pretty quickly. Our cabin steward was great. He kept our room spotless day and night. My kids loved the little towel animals that were left on our bed each night with the turndown service. There was a lot to do each day and night,as far as cruise activities went. The dining room wait staff was amazing. We had a special diet,so they tried their best to accommodate us each night. The entertainment was great as well. If you have kids,be careful about watching the stage shows with them. Some of the shows were a little risque, meaning the costumes,or lack thereof. If you don't mind them seeing skimpy costumes, then disregard. As far as port info,Port Canaveral was nice, but there wasn't much to do off the ship, esp. since you have a very limited time in each port. I would recommend booking excursions. Nassau was beautiful, esp. the beach. Atlantis is a must if you're visiting the Bahamas. I have cruised previously with Celebrity CL,but our first time with Carnival CL was not bad at all. Overall,it was a good experience.

Our Cruise by jamoriello

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We live in Philadelphia and sailed out of Maryland, I was surprised how easy and convenient the parking lot was. It's located tight off of 95 and the ship is right there. I thought the ship was really nice and the staff was exceptional. The ports were beautiful but I rather have skipped Port Canaveral and spent more time on the beach in Freeport. The food was ok but the upscale dining was so delicious that we ate there two times. I definitely would sail out of Maryland again, the convenience is great. I wish in the future Carnival offers more ports of call to visit. I would recommend this cruise. Thank you for a GREAT vacation!
