Hurricane Matthew by Cruiser24872664

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The best part of our cruise was our state room which was very roomy and we found the shower to be spacious and comfortable.  Our steward, Made, was excellent!!  Our dining room experience was great because we had Elvis and Dorel serving us.  They were courteous and made sure we were happy.  However, we found the food on the ship not up to par.  Food was usually lukewarm when served.  The fact that you could not find a trash can anywhere other than the restrooms was frustrating.  We felt that the onboard credits were not enough based on where we were told we were going and what we ultimately received by staying in New York for 2 days.  As Maryland residents it would cost us a lot less money to visit the New York than over $2000.00.  I understand the cruise lines with keeping passengers safe but felt the cruise should have cancelled and our money returned.  We only chose to stay on the cruise because we thought we would be visiting St. John.

Hurricane Matthew Ruined Our Cruise by thompsoncontrac

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I enjoyed the dining room the workers were great. I did not like going to New York and then making circles outside of New York did not get to go anywhere. Cold trip no warm weather. There was not much to do on this trip they should have planned more especially when we were stuck in New York. I paid for a trip on a ship to sail not dock very disappointed. I don't know if I want to cruise with Carnival again.

Amazing cruise by jragland49

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My twin and I boarded the cruise ship with so much excitement. We knew we were going to have a wonderful time but it exceeded our expectations. We looked forward to the entertainment each day and Leigh, our cruise director was fantastic. He treated us and all the other passengers like Carnival family. There was never a dull moment and lots of things to do. My twin and I agreed that this was truly the best experience we've had being on a cruise ship. I highly recommend sailing on the Carnival Pride because there are things to do for the whole family to enjoy.

Our Worst Cruise Ever by newlovej

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The longest wait to embarkation.  The time given for us to embark was not honored.  Smallest cabin ever on any of our cruises.  Poor service.  Food choices and quality was terrible.  Dining Room service was slow and food was not very good.

Carnival Delight by cruisinisfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

Our last Carnival cruise was a hot mess but this trip to Bermuda was very nice. Our cabin steward was exceptional, the meals were above par from our last experience and all in all the trip was relaxing and fun. We only had 1 downside that was the cruise lines fault-on the last night of our cruise our cabin ceiling developed a leak and it took 3+ hours for it to be fixed-I was uncomfortable leaving our cabin as we had a plummer and different housekeeping staff coming and going.

Great time cruising to Bermuda and back by bri713an

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

We have a very enjoyable cruise to Bermuda on the Carnival Pride.  The ship was big enough to have all the amenities without feeling crowded.  The cruise director (Leigh) made sure everyone had a great time.  We appreciated the friendly service, enjoyed the food and our room was always clean.  Plus, Bermuda has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Bermuda in the rain! by gdb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

Although we had a full day of rain while in Bermuda, we made some terrific memories! Because of a tropical storm our itinerary had to be changed but the ship made it as easy as possible. They were even able to extend our last day in port. We will definitely be going back and are already looking at future cruises!

3 days in Bermuda by prettymuchnuts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

First, let me say we love the Pride, so that part gets s 5.

The island is very pretty and the beaches are beautiful (except they looked just like stateside beaches, I didn't see any pink!).  But if 2 of your 3 days are on and off rain, then unless you are into $90 Bermuda shorts and $200 shirts or drinking yourself into a stupor, there isn't very much to do.  Now that isn't Carnival's fault or Bermuda's fault, we booked during hurricane season!  We went to Hamilton and St. Georges, and had a difficult time even finding souvenir t-shirts.  The island is very expensive and upscale.  Public transportation (buses and ferries) are efficient and reasonably priced and the people that we met and dealt with were extremely nice and showed great pride in their homeland.

From what we had read before the cruise we believed that there were many things to see within easy walking distance.  Well, for a 65 and 70 year old couple, believe me this wasn't true.  The beaches are, of course, at sea level and the roadways are not.  We took an excursion to Horseshoe Bay that took us right to the beach.  If we had taken a bus, we would have never made the hike back up the hill to the roadway.

Overall,we enjoyed the cruise, are glad we got to see Bermuda for the first time, but we will not go out of our way to go back.  If you are a person who enjoys the beach, scuba diving, longwalks, upscale shopping and drinking this could be the cruise of a life time for you (if the weather is good).

Bermuda Cruise! by Cruiser90182200

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

Great cruise! Felt very safe even with a tropical storm in the Atlantic coming our way. Entertainment was wonderful! Food was good especially the pizza & ice cream! LOL Had super stewards & waiters on this cruise. I did not like the open casino that was not smoke free so the second hand smoke covered the 2nd floor areas. The spa is great, had a fabulous massage & enjoyed the jacuzzi in that area. Leigh the activities director was outstanding, lots of energy & very friendly.

The Best Way to Cruise by deborahdaniels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Leaving out of Baltimore is the best way to go.  There is no flying out of your city and you have to do is drive there.  Parking is about $105.00 for the whole week.  Check in was about an hour.  The ship was great and the service was outstanding.  The staff is very attentive and the food was delicious.  I can't say enough about the entertainment.  All of the islands were beautiful.  I loved Half Moon Cay (Carnival private island), the best.  We did not go to Freeport because of the storm Julia.  Please cruise on the Carnival Pride.  You won't regret it.

Not as Good as the Last Time We were on the Pride by pde911

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

For the most part, we enjoyed the cruise.  We met some very nice people and had a very good time.  There were a few areas that need attention and/or correction.  The entertainment was very poor.  Eight singers and dancers performed in the main theater on each night for five of the seven nights.  Same singers and dancers but different acts.  No comics, no magicians, no impersonators, etc.  On two nights there was no entertainment at all, just silly games with audience participation.   The Butterflies Lounge had comics for the first three nights but nothing after that.  The casino is on the second deck.  Smoking is allowed in the casino.  To get fore and aft on the second deck you have to go through the casino.  Hold your breath cause the smoke will kill you.  Carnival needs to improve the ventilation in the casino to better remove the smoke.  One of the Assistant Cruise Directors was actually a detriment.  He was in charge of many of the Trivia games and he made the experience a chore for us.  Difficult to understand, slow, often distracted, always behind schedule.  The worst ACD I have ever seen on a cruise ship.   The food was good but lacked the pizzaz that I have seen on previous cruises.   The staff was great - servers in the main dining room - outstanding, our cabin steward - took care of our every need.   I know that you get what you pay for, but I think with a few modifications, this could have been a great cruise for the money.

Beautiful Ship by compma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

MY favorite part was the entertainment and participating in some games.

I can only think of one improvement. During the nights of the shows in the big hall, only 2 waiters were workers. The place was packed each night and that was a lot of work for only 2 people. More need to be assigned.

For fellow travelers: Do not be a cabin bug. Get out and enjoy yourself.Big Smile

First Carnival trip by tbembenekjr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

Carnival Pride was a right sized ship for us--we do not like the large monster ships. It was our first cruise on Carnival and it compared favorably with all the other lines we cruise with i.el diamond members on Royal Carib, Celebrity,Costa, and MSC.

Did not like that I paid twice what I would normally pay for an inside cabin.

The service was great expecially our room steward--Gontar.

Could improve--there was no French bread for breakfast and few fruits. All other lines did have French bread available at all meals.

Otherwise the ship was nice and our trip was smooth inspite of missing a hurricane. Bermuda was nice to visit.

Great dinners in the Main Dining Room with Neil, I Nyoman, and Gede!! by jpalbemarle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

Our Dining Room servers were the best. They were  Neil, I Nyoman and Gede (Table #203) and they kept us laughing through every dinner.  We had the late seating for dinner on the 7-day Bermuda cruise out of Baltimore, and after dinner these guys danced, sang and generally entertained us. They were warm, friendly and interesting.  It was the BEST part of our cruise.

We also had a wonderful Stateroom Steward named Akhmad (Room 1230), and he was just great.  Our room was always perfect.  My husband is very sensitive to any motion at all, and tends gets very motion-sick, so he was in bed at various times of day, depending on the sea conditions (except in port).high  So our bed was made twice a day, and our bathroom cleaned and fresh towels put out twice a day, not to mention our little towel animals which were the cutest!  Akhmad took wonderful care of us, and spoiled us daily.  Truly, what great service.  We have no complaints about any service we received in any part of the ship and only high praise.  This was our first Carnival cruise,

not PROUD to be on the PRIDE by lauraahale

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

So Bermuda as a whole was amazing! This was actually our 3rd time on the pride in the same suit. We LOVED our 1st cruise...LIKED our 2nd cruise....but only TOLERATED this one. The food was less than desirable, at best. It had no flavor & you could tell it was frozen bulk food, just being reheated! The food went from a "c" to an "f" for sure. We've now cruised every route this ship offers, so needless to say we won't be on the pride again. They really should get the vendor's name RC uses, as their food is STELLAR! Our cabin hadn't been updated w/any new / modern amenities in the four yrs we've been on there, and at this point it looked tacky :(....sorry carnival, you shouldn't be PROUD>>>>you can do better...

Carnival pride Bermuda cruise by atkinsdo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

A section of the hallway on starboard side on deck 8 had an awful musty smell the whole cruise. The rest of the hallway was fine. Our room staff did an excellent job !!

The dining room waiters also were great!

The embarkation was well managed but disbarkation took way too long.

One other complaint--The announcements could not be heard at all in the room! The sound system was terrible!!

Great time visiting Bermuda! by AkronMan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Bermuda

We loved our cruise to Bermuda on the Pride. The Serenity deck was awesome - just wish they had a better system for the hammocks and covered lounges - like maybe renting them? Seemed like not enough to go around.  Loved the waterslides. The shows weren't as good as on other Carnival cruises... but that's ok plenty of other things to do!!   Ship is nice, being updated, don't notice it's age.  :)   Can't wait to go back!!  We also really enjoyed sailing out of Baltimore.. very easy port to deal with compared to other ports we've sailed out of.
