If you are on the Legend, prepare for pushing and shoving.
Long lines. Bad smells throughout the ship. Broken furniture and broken in cabin light fixtures. Lots of drunk people with no manners. Alcohol flows freely, it is emphasized.
try to book early so you can pick your own room. we liked the back, close to evening dining, also get a balcony and enjoy the fresh air with your morning coffee
The 5th floor, mid ship caused more motion sickness than I have ever experienced before. I would get one higher on the ship next time with no obstructed view.
Since there isn't a lot of shore time, pick your excursions well and don't feel like you have to see everything. . . you are on a cruise, not a road trip.
Here's the thing with carnival, they overprice a lot of things so what i reccomend is bring your own bottled water and if you're over 21, you're allowed to bring one bottle of champagne
Better lighting on the dark design of the ship so you're able to find public restrooms quicker and bathroom fans in cabin bathroom so mirrors don't fog up while taking showers
Be prepared to be overwhelmed by the crowds, noise, disorder, confusion in the Arrival hall. It does not make sense artiving earlier that your appointed time as it is still chaotic. If there are 1, 2 or 5 cruises leaving from the Embarkation port, you will have this many people being herded through.
Even though you will spend too much money, take an excursion because the ports are too touristy and really are no different than one another. If you want to see anything, you will have to pay!
Buy Faster to the Fun and make sure you are directed away from the long line upon embarkation. There's a special line for diamond/platinum/faster to the fun at Guest Services.
Don't be afraid of bad reviews you read about ships. Before we went on the Breeze when it first came to the U.S., I had read some bad reviews. As long as you see a lot of good reviews also, don't be afraid to book the ship unless you are very picky. Early dining in Alaska starts at 5:30.
