Review summary

The obstructed view was very obstructed, a lot more than we were lead to believe. I would never do that again. The incident with the cruise ship having a propulsion problem that caused it to tilt was unsettling. Overall, though it was a decent cruise but I do have reservations about Carnival in the future.

View was very poor, worst than what we expected but the cabin was pretty clean and always fresh towels, etc. The cabin guy tried very hard to please. Overall it was fine.

Ship tip

The 5th floor, mid ship caused more motion sickness than I have ever experienced before. I would get one higher on the ship next time with no obstructed view.

A guaranteed cabin is when you choose the type of cabin, eg inside, oceanview, balcony or suite but not an actual cabin. The cruise line can put you anywhere on the ship in the type of cabin you choose and sometimes even upgrade you. The prices are cheaper than booking an actual cabin but if you want to be on a certain deck or location on the ship its not the way to go, if you don't mind where you're put, its a fair bit cheaper.
