Review summary

I LOVE CRUISING,, VERY RELAXING, EVERY NEED IS TAKEN CARE OF AND THE STAFF IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL..EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT UP UNTIL OUR LAST DAY WHILE HEADING INTO VICTORIA, BC.  AFTER OUR DINNER  WE SUDDENLY STOPPED, LIKE WE RAN INTO SOMETHING, BOAT VIBRATED  THEN STARTED TO LIST.. NEEDLESS TO SAY, DISHES AND COFFEE POTS WENT CRASHING ONTO THE FLOOR AND THE WAITERS WERE TRYING TO KEEP THAT FROM HAPPENING, NO ONE WAS LETTING US KNOW WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED AND WHAT TO DO.. NEEDLESS TO SAY THERE WAS PANIC AS WE WANTED TO GET UP TO THE DECK..  THERE WAS ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAPTAIN, WITH A VERY THICK ITALIAN ACCENT ASSURED US THAT IT WAS AN AUTOPILOT PROBLEM AND WOULD SOON BE FIXED, WHICH IT WAS.. ANOTHER 10 TO 15 MINUTES  OF LISTING,  ALL WE CULD THINK OF IS THAT THE SHIP WAS GOING  TO KEEP  LISTING FURTHER AND POSSIBLY  OVER TURN.. THEN THE CRUISE DIRECTOR , JAMIE CAME ON THE INTERCOM AND REAFFIRMED WHAT THE CAPTAIN HAD SAID.. WE HAD NO INSTRUCTIONS AND NO HELP FROM ANY  CREW MEMBER.. MANY OF US WERE VERY SHAKEN AND WERE AFRAID FOR MANY HOURS AFTER THE INCIDENT .. THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAME TO CHECK ON US WAS OUR CABIN STEWARD..EVEN THO THERE WERE NO INJURIES , OUR CONFIDENCE WAS SHAKEN BY NOT BEING GIVEN  THE REASSURANCE THAT ALL WAS FINE AND WE WERE IN NO DANGER OF TIPPING OVER..MANY PEOPLE FOR SURE DID NOT SLEEP WELL THE LAST LEG OF OUR JOURNEY... I'M SURE EVERYONE WOULD LIKE A BETTER EXPLANATION SO THAT WE WOULD FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IF WE EVER WOULD LIKE TO CRUISE AGAIN. WHICH MIGHT BE THE CASE FOR OUR FAMILY WHO WERE HAVING A GREAT TIME UNTIL THIS HAPPENED AND ARE NOT SURE IF THEY WOULD WANT TO GO AGAIN

excellent, never disappointed with the variety and quality, except the scrambled eggs.. a little to runny for my taste

while there was alot of activities,, there wasn't any that caught our attention,, A little more variety , like group board games ,more cooking demos,, more exercise classes

the entertainment was very enjoyable and we always looked forward to getting there early so as to not miss any of the program

we were very pleased with our dining rm waiter, I Komang gave excellent service and very personable, our room steward was also exceptional and was very helpful after the listing incident. our rm # was 7311..

ship was clean and design was easy to navigate

Cabin / Stateroom

cabin very clean and spacious.. has everything you need at your fingertip our cabin steward was always friendly and helpful.. the only issue we had was the remote control was very iffy. sometimes it worked .. we weren't in our room that much so it wasn't a big deal.. your next roomys might not be so forgiving

Ship tip

try to book early so you can pick your own room. we liked the back, close to evening dining, also get a balcony and enjoy the fresh air with your morning coffee

because of the little mishap we didn't get there till 9 pm , and the trip into town was expensive for the amount of time we had ..$10 a person for a 20 min trip into town is a bit too high :(

The tilt was caused by a the failure of one of the azipods which although unnerving caused no danger to the ship at any time!

Judging by passenger comments though, they could have done more to inform and reassure passengers!

I was in the dining room and I still keep reliving it. I thought for sure we would die. I remember it only lasting less than 30 seconds and the captain advised us right away we were all safe. All I can say is we are all VERY and the captain knew what he is doing. Can happen on any cruise line.

It sounds like from other passengers the tilt only lasted a few seconds, which make sense since if your azipod is the cause they just cut the power to it. It might take a minute for the ship to level after but 10-15 min sounds like an exaggeration.

Would have been really funny if they started playing that Celine Dion Titanic song over the intercom. On a serious note, it's difficult to take your post seriously when you type in all caps and don't have a basic understanding of punctuation. However, It does sound like you were given plenty of explanation as to what happened. I'd have been more than satisfied. I'm sorry you felt the crew should have checked on you more often and maybe given you a hug. Sounds like you need one. But they do have their assigned duties to tend to in any situation and it doesn't include needless and pointless coddling.
