This is probably our favorite Carnival ship. We cruised on it a few times when it was in Tampa - the size is great - not too big so not over crowded with people - it's easy to get around and comfortable.

Check you deck plans , if you want to go to bed early don't get under an entertaining room with music and scrapping chairs . It's hard when you have an excursion the next early morning.

Wait for a last minute deal and never pre pay! If they had a balcony room at the last minute they offered me, they must usually have cancellations or not full cruises.

You will definitely get frustrated in the buffet during prime seating. We had JUST come back from our cold and rainy Ketchikan excursion and there was NO WHERE to sit. We ended up back out side in the cold (covered area). This isn't the cruise ship's fault- it amazes me out inconsiderate people

I will personally not book a cabin on the eighth deck under the Lido deck again. It is much too noisy trying to sleep. I think it may have been the movable glass roof sliding back and forth in addition to all of the carts and such. My daughter and I are both light sleepers though.

We were unable to hear any of the ship announcements when we were out on deck. Especially deck three.

Always be polite and you will be treated like royalty. It is a beautiful ship and the staff is tight knit and exceptional. They made our first cruise so awesome we scheduled another!

Its much windier on deck at sea than I expected. Seems silly but bundle up if you want to be able to stay out on deck to watch for whales for any amount of time. I was not prepared and probably missed a lot.

I did not realize that our itinerary was actually like having four days at sea. That was a little hard for me. If you love to relax then you will love this cruise! We stayed on the Port side. In Glacier Bay, the captain faced that side for the entire time at the Marjorie Glacier. He briefly turned around so the others could see it, but not watch for calving. We felt so grateful for our cabin choice! The down side was, we did not see as much wildlife as Starboard side. The aft balconies along the back of the ship reported whale sightings constantly.

My favorite pre-sail tip, was to be sure to bring a bungee cord to hold open our cabin/balcony door while we were in the room. The other thing was to be sure to have a power strip for extra plugs. The third thing we brought with us was a multi port usb charger, so we could all charge our phones and camara at the same time. It would have been nice to have at LEAST one power plug in the bathroom, for a hairdryer.
