Review summary

Booked and pre paid 6 months in advance, couple weeks before cruise my companion was unable to go. I am a senior citizen with Heath problems so my niece offered to go with me. I called Carnival customer service where I was told three different stories, but finely was told it was be a extra $400 to change a name to my new companion,in the age of computers a 15 second job... for this reason I will not ever pre book with any line or sail with carnival again, which is sad because the cruise itself was pretty nice! Our air was out two nights but they were nice and sent strawberries... The side lamp on table had a short, but other then that the ports in Alaska were beautiful! Could have done without the full day in Victoria since the tour was just 3.5 hrs. The food was good as was the service on ship. One thing I liked was they were constantly cleaning...

Was offered a upgrade to a balcony room days before departing, for $499 which I definitely would have taken if not for the extra $400 they had already charged me ☹️ Anyway our room was large enough with nice bathroom and comfortable beds! Also quiet...

Ship tip

Wait for a last minute deal and never pre pay! If they had a balcony room at the last minute they offered me, they must usually have cancellations or not full cruises.

Been to Seattle before, but always new sights. Seems to be more homeless in waterfront and downtown, but think that's pretty much everywhere.

Went to Mendenhall Glacier was beautiful. Has a Walmart if you want to take a city bus and get away from jewelry stores and salmon hawkers lol

Hi that's a shame but any cruise line or airlines will charge yep it's a bit hard to understand why they charge so much but it is out of our control we have done just had our 16th cruise with carnival it's a shame you are not going to not book with them... but hope all is well with health now that's the main thing.

Glad you had a good time. Just so you know, all cruise lines will charge if you have to change someone. It's not just their records, but homeland security.
