Great Week On Carnival by golf4abe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

First time cruising on Carnival, pleasantly surprised with the ship, room, food, crew, entertainment and side trips. You have to be there to experience the views, pictures do no do them justice. Will surely think of them the next time I cruise.

By far our best vacation by gravalos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was a family vacation that was awesome.  The family did not want to go back to the real world.  The cruise personnel especially our steward and formal dinning staff were the best.  We loved them as family.  The only negative thing I can say is that there was a group of 20 young adults on the same cruise that were not supervised as they should have been and not enough time docked in Victoria, Canada.  They threw sporting balls overboard and were very rudely. Other than that the cruise was awesome and would definitely do it again.Love

First cruise by agravalos

I loved everything about the cruise. The wait staff was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was all of those teenagers that were there on a vacation with out their parents. They were very rude.

Awesome Vacation by mamafiz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Alaskan inside passage cruise is an awesome adventure.  All the ports visited were interesting and our guides on our excursions were the best.  We learned a lot about the history of Alaska.

Ready to set sail again!!!

An experience that will last a lifetime! by dbergman47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I enjoyed every minute of my cruise.  I thought everything was well organized and planned.  Jen was amazing with the amount of energy that she projected.  The entertainers performed amazingly and the comedians kept us in stitches.  The Alaskan ports of call were all provided amazing sights that I will never forget.

Gardner Review by kharoljohnson41

Overall the cruise was good but having to buy 2 drinking packages because of your rules sucks.  My husband drinks and because we are over 21 and shared the same room I had to buy a package also to the tune of  805.00.  For what?  I don't drink.   And I think Carnival cruise line "nickels and dimes" you to death.   Probably will choose a different cruise line next time.

Awesome cruise by TheGriffs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

favorite part of the cruise was niceness of the staff. Almost everyone said hello all day long. The rooms were kept very clean by the stewards. The restaurant service at the sitdown meals and the buffets was outstanding.

Things to improve would be the diversity of things to do on the sea days. My kids said the camp on the ship was just ok although they did not spend a lot of time in there.

i would definitely recommend this cruise. Well worth the $.

Wonderful itinerary, excellent care. by CourtJester

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Alaska on Carnival is a great cruise.  There were lots of fun things to do on the ship and even more great things to see in the glacier fjord and ports of call.  The care we received from the staff on the ship was beyond our very high expectations.

The Legend is a legend! by suzyq614620

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was one of the best Carnival Cruises that I have had.  Although Carnival has always been good the Alaskan Cruise was the best.  I liked the smaller ship.  The food was better on the Legend.  The crew and staff were very friendly and helpful.  The ship was clean.  The comedians were great.  My only regret was that there was only one buffet on the Chocolate Extravaganza day.  They really could have used two.  Some cruisers never got to enjoy the buffet because the lines were to long.  This is not a deal breaker, however, it would have been nice if everyone that wanted to experience the extravaganza  could.

Amazing adventure! by Shipsahoy3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

My husband and I took my mom on this cruise - and we had a blast!  Loved the scenery, people, staff and excursions.  We were a little concerned about the size of the room with three people, but it worked out great and the balcony was fantastic to see the wildlife and scenery. The staff was wonderful - our cabin steward and dining room waiter always knew ours names and were amazing!

The port stays and excursions were spectacular. The visit to Victoria B.C. was too short, but still a lovely stop.

We are all thrilled to have checked this adventure off our "bucket list"!

Perfect family vacation by MaribelCLopez

Itinerary and service were the best part of our cruise. I'm recommending this cruise to all my friends :)

My only complaint would be how expensive alcohol is aboard the ship.

Brief but fulfilling visit to AK by goldy10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The best part of the cruise were the excursions to the dog mushing camp (Yukon), the adventure carts (Ketchikan), and the tour of Victoria with the castle.  The cruise itself was OK -- sometimes the stop in a port is so brief that you cannot see the port city if you take an excursion, but if you don't take an excursion you're just seeing the same tourist trap shops - particularly the imported jewelry stores.  Be very careful with on-board expenses, you can easily spend more on board than you paid for the cruise.

Making family memories by Cruiser650

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great cruise! Fun, relaxing,  beautiful scenery. We even saw Orca's on the ship. The one thing that was truly lacking was the quality in the good. 80% of the good was not good. I'm not at all a picky eater, and it's honestly very difficult for me to NOT like something that I eat. Honestly though, carnival really needs to improve on their food. Otherwise, great cruise

First time cruising by jerandchel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This cruise was our first time cruising. We had a great time! It was amazing seeing all the wildlife from the ship. We saw whales, sea lions,  and porpoises. We got extremely spoiled with all of the great service on board. The staff on Lido deck did an excellent job of keeping everything clean. The dining area on Lido deck was very busy and often crowded, but the staff was always friendly and efficient at clearing the tables and making room for everyone. We had a balcony room, which was really quite roomy. The closet/storage space was more than enough room for all of our clothes. It was really nice having a private balcony, but I think if we were to take another Alaskan cruise, we would not get a balcony. We didn't spend much time there because it was too cold to really be comfortable. Our cabin steward, Papas, was phenomenal! He was so nice to us and took great care of us. He always greeted us by name when we saw him. I thought he just knew our names from a list or something, but he really remembered our names and faces. The only thing I would have liked more from this cruise is to have been able to stay at the ports longer. We planned excursions at every port and by the time we were finished with them, it was already time to leave. I know this probably isn't possible because the ship is on a tight schedule, but it would have been nice to walk around the towns a little bit. We were pretty nervous that it was going to take a long time to get on and off the ship, but we didn't have any problems. In Seattle,  we didn't have to wait in line at all to get on the ship. When we left and came back from excursions,  there was always a line, but it always moved really quickly. I had read reviews that said it can take hours to get off the ship after the cruise, but once again we didn't have any wait at all.

What a Fiasco! by springtimeinves

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

It was beautiful!

The glaciers, the wildlife, and the weather could not have been better.

BUT...I spent a total of about 8 hours on 6 days in "Guest Services" and talking to the Spa manager trying to straighten out my "Sign and Sail" account. On board they don't want you to use cash so you use this account. I really wanted to do some shopping on board, get a massage, and purchase some art but every time I used my card, a whole bunch of charges would show up that didn't belong to me. I pre-paid for my husband to get a facial and shave for fathers day. They charged me a total of five times for the one service. I bought one fun book and was charged for three. I was charged for 6 drinks that I didn't order that totaled over $58.00. I bought the $400.00 "CHEERS" drink package and my husband, who is a recovering alcoholic, was told he had to purchase the alcohol package too. So $800.00 total. My husband was mortified!!!!! The last port we didn't even get off the ship in fear we would be spending the last morning in Guest services correcting our bill. Did I have a good time...NOT AT ALL. Bad taste in my mouth BIG TIME! All they could do is apologize and were in awe how my bill got so screwed up!

THE STAFF IS AMAZING! They always called me by name and acknowledged all of us. I was with a group of six. I will say that none of the others had the issues with their "Sing and Sail" account.

Great Time! by joanneb66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Very relaxing cruise. Loved the shows! Loved the cruise director Jen. All the staff was very helpful. Ship was very clean. Food in dining room was very good. Good amount of activities but personally I would have liked some more BINGO games and club type dancing. Also there were some periods of time that food is kind of limited to pizza and ice cream mostly. Alaska is beautiful highly recommend!
