Took forty years of marriage to give in by MikeG7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Fantastic voyage meeting or exceeding our expectationjs, and we are seasoned travelers from trips all over the world. The international flavor of the staff was wonderful, and they were accommodating and gracious. For forty years I had fended off my wife's requests for a cruise. I was wrong. We should have brought along the kids years ago when they were young enough to enjoy all the on-board facilities. To make just one use of all the services offered on-board will take several cruises. And, coordination of the day excursions was so smooth and painless we should have opted for more.

Not 1 peaceful night by JohnV7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had we been able to sleep at night we could have rated the ship much higher. Multiple call were made to the customer relations desk the security would come quite things down then leave , next night same thing night after night. We did not have 1 peaceful night on the cruise.

Great Honeymoon! by PaulL13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my honeymoon cruise and I felt that it was perfect. The ship was clean. The staterooms were spotlessly cleaned every day. The food was too good (I say too good because I gained 7 pounds). The ship's entertainment through out the day kept me busy, whether it was trivia, a game show, or how to make towel animals; it never seemed like there was enough time. The nightly shows were decent for a cruise ship, however I have to say that this ship's comedy show is the best bet, but you have to show up early because it gets packed. The only downside of my honeymoon was the weather. I went during Hurricane Bill, so ports kept changing back and forth, but this is beyond the control of the ship.

It was not one of the best but had fun by JoycelynT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

OUR CRUISE STARTED OUT JUST FINE, UNTIL WE RAN INTO HURRICANE BILL. THEY HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER ISLAND WHICH I DID NOT LIKE BECAUSE OUR TIME WAS CUT SHORT AND NOT A LOT OF SHOPPING TOO DO. BUT OVER ALL THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD ONBOARD THE CARIVAL GLORY WAS VERY VERY NICE. I WOULD REALLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO TRAVEL WITH CARNIVAL CRUISE LINERS ANYTIME. I WOULD TRY THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE ANOTHER YEAR OR SO, BUT WILL TRY THE CARNIVAL DREAM FIRST.

This ship could give you cancer by CandaceE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My family and I had a miserable experience due to the amount of smoking allowed on the ship. There were few public areas we could go to without cigarette smoke permeating the air. We couldn't go into the casino, we couldn't even sit in any area on that entire section. We couldn't go into the shop due to a bar right next door to it with it's door always open and the smoke coming out. We couldn't use the internet without walking through a smoking bar! We could smell smoke coming through the vents into the hallways. We could smell people smoking in their cabins. We saw people smoking outside on the "non-smoking side of the ship - not one ship employee asked them to move. We saw people flicking ash on the deck and off the side of the ship - not one ship employee stopped them. It seems Carnival has all the regard for smokers and none for non-smokers. We were confined to our cabin for most of the cruise due to the unbreathable air. My husband has an allergic reaction when he is near smoke as does my 9yr old daughter. When we brought our concern to the guest service counter, the employee simply looked amazed and said "I do not smell smoke." Not a helpful response. I have been on other Carnival ships and other lines and never had the smokers be so intrusive. I am very disappointed in this ship and the employees lack of requiring guest to adhere to the rules - Isn't flicking ash off the ship deck meant to be a fire hazard?

Not what I expected by MicheleR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I may have thought more of this cruise if I had not cruised Royal Carribbean before. The food in the buffet was a disappointment much of the time. I have food allergies and limit myself to fresh salad, chicken and fish. Sometimes the salad smelled like mildew. Most of the employees could not speak English very well and had no clue as to the question I was asking them. I received confilicting directions from each one. The lunchmeat tasted like packaged and processed meat, not fresh. The food at the dining room was excellent and so was the service there. The gentleman who too care of our stateroom was wonderful. The counter for the excursion events was not always open when needed, so you had to go stand in the guest services line. When I stood in the long line for guest services, the employee did not know the answers to my questions and just read to me the directions off of the info sheet that we all had. I was misinformed about dinner. I was told I would be wait-listed and there was no assigned tables. That was wrong. I also did not know there were two elegant evenings, so we had to eat at the buffet (yuck). Sometimes a ship event did not have enough room for guests to participate, so we were crammed in like sardines (I hate that). The most disturbing event was that there were very loud kids who ran up and down the hallways screaming between the hours of 1:00am and 4:00am. I kept calling security and they only came out once. It was ridiculous.

What an experience by Mandi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a beautiful ship. There were lots of places to go and big rooms. If you were into music this was your ship. There were lots of muscians to listen to in the clubs. It was hard to get around in the ship. One deck didn't lead to another. You could get lost etc. the elevators were really quick and the stairs were easy to find.

July 2009 Western Caribbean- Carn. Glory by ExpericedT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Glory is an older ship, but very clean. All customer services were excellent and made the cruise worry free. I learned from this cruise bigger isn't always better. The quality of service really made the difference for our experience.

Summer Experiment by DonR8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

1. Very crowed; had to wait for everything. 2. Had a suite but corridor nosie was exteremely loud at night. 3. Very bad debarkation experience. Carnival called it "relaxed" debarkation. It was actually a free-for-all made worse since the ship docked 45 minutes after debarkation was supposed to begin. 4. Clean, friendly, and generally helpful on board staff. 5. Great variety of activities.

Most Enjoyable Cruise by LymanM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had an outstanding experience on the Carnival Glory. The ship had a great staff from room stewards to food servers to entertainers. There was always plenty to do, good information available on schedules onboard as well as excursions. All three stops provided a wide variety of opportunities for any kind of excursion desired. We liked the different kind of programs each evening. The ship seemed well able to support a family atmosphere as well as meeting almost any kind of entertainment anyone would desire.

I enjoyed the shows. The cruise director and his crew did a fantastic job! The Glory dancers were also fantastic! The waiters and their helpers make every meal very relaxing and enjoyable. I also loved the little animals you find in your cabins in the evenings.
