Great fun!! by DMBlover721

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I went to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. I had a blast! There were 6 of us and I can honestly say we all had a blast. We had fun and sun on the islands, and on the ship. There was always something to do. The shows were great. There were all types of fun; comedy shows, dancing, singing, clubs, shows, solving mysteries, pools, hot tubs, and exercise!! There was food, food, food, and more food! The dining room staff was very good to us, beautiful people. The Assistant Cruise Director was funny, charismatic, and he went out of his way to do a great job. I can't think of one thing to complain about on this trip!

Food Sucks by Woody

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have been on 25 plus cruises This will be the last carnival ever. The food was the worst ever. We ate in the dining room twice. That was all we could stand. It is not great when you lose weight on a cruise ship. We have been on every cruise ship line that is sailing and this one makes me want to change my thinking of what I should do for a vacation.

7 Night Exotic Caribbean Cruise with Carnival by jep80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

One of the reasons Ichoose this cruise is because I wanted to go to Belize, which did not happen. Carnival changed the port from Belize to Costa Maya due to port congestion in Belize. I beleive that is another way of saying Carnival did not get their paper work submitted on time to port authorities in Belize and other cruise lines beat them out. Costa Maya: Also, my husband went on a "Snuba" shore excursion where the guide left him and he ended up going on his excursion with a different tour group than the one he started out with. Plus, the entire drive and Snuba area smelled like foul water. Before my husband told me about his trip, I noticed that he smelled really bad.

Exotic Western Carribean by clr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved the cruise, the Carnival Glory had excellent food, loved Guy's Burgers. The dinner staff was awesome and we worked them very hard. Perhaps a little better teen program would be good. The nightly shows were horrible. I've been on 6 cruises, I don't care about the show that much, but when I want something to do at night it is nice to have a good show to watch. I've experienced Vegas type shows on every other cruise, these were horrible. Everything else was great.

Carnival Glory 2nd cruise on this ship! by ohioiancruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food needs to be improved in the dining room for dinner. We do a family cruise every year & go to the dining room every night for dinner. I had prime rib one night & it was too tough to eat. Every night we were hoping for a better menu & it never happened. This was our 4th Carnival cruise the second time on the Glory. The breakfast was very good in the dining room. Guys Burgers very good Mexican Taco bar was very good but needed chips to go with the salsa's, Fish & Chips was good also.We had a premium vista balcony aft that was AWESOME! Great ports. All in all a Good Cruise.

Carnival Glory Western Caribbean by JSTAR65080070

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food was fine. Beer pices are steep. Very few drink discounts. They cut out the party for previous cruisers. Service was very good. Entertainment was lacking, especially recorded music at shows. Music overall was barely fair. There was barely any during the 6 o'clock hour. Comedy was poor. They need more jazz. The Serenity deck is great. The shore excursion in Cozumel, in which you sail on an America's cup vessel, was great.

Honeymoon Experience by CaraDiMarzo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My Honeymoon was spent on the Carnival Glory. The experience was fine but two of the ports we were supposed to stop at were knocked off the agenda. It felt a lot like we were "jipped" on the cruise as there was no reimbursement for the missed ports besides an $11 port charge. Also, I got a rash from the cruise and began getting scared one night as I felt my throat was closing. I went down to see the ship doctor and before I could tell him what was wrong he threw some cream and Benadryl over the counter. He didn't take the time to ask any questions, he stated I used too much Sunscreen and when I told him that never happens to me as I live in Florida and am often in the sun he still insisted that was wrong. I took what he gave me and was then charged $30 dollars for a awful "Medical Visit". The next day I woke up with a swollen face and didn't return to the medical center because of a fear of getting charged again.

Great Ship & Fairly Good Itinerary by cltpilot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We sailed on the Glory this past New Years. We celebrated New Years eve onboard the ship on our way to St. Thomas. That was an awesome experience. The ports of call were all good, with St. Thomas and Grand Turk being our favorite. We had a great time on the ATV excursion in San Juan but I am not a big fan of San Juan in general. Additionally, we had an amazing time at the Atlantis Dolphin Encounter in Nassau, but I am not a big fan of the Bahamas in general either. St. Thomas and Grand Turk are awesome. We took the Champagne Cruise in St. Thomas and did the Shark and Sting Ray encounter in Grand Turk. Both were great. You just can't beat the waters in Grand Turk; crystal clear. The Carnival experience was good. If you have cruised a lot, then you know the cruise lines are really changing a lot of things i.e. no more midnight buffets; no more previous cruiser parties on board, etc. Carnival does have a new Cheers! program on board which charges a flat fee, per day for spirits and beer. At $42.95 a day, it really is the way to go if you plan on indulging in adult beverages while on board the ship. The crew on this voyage were good and friendly, and our Cabin Steward, Budi, was very helpful.

Dec Cruise by Deedeluxe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Was really looking forward to going to Belize...I understand the change was made to avoid delay for the passengers....but there is a listing of how many cruise ships are in what ports given early enough that Carnival Glory should have been able to notify passengers via email about the change in itinerary so they won't have been surprised when they got to Miami Port of departure. Also, the disembark method need to be smoother (waiting sooo long to get off the ship is unacceptable seeing this is something that is done weekly). Besides those minor matters the ship is pretty good and the crew is awesome.

Never Again by poodlediva

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

First the good news . . . staff was very friendly. That's it. Food in dining room was pitiful. Hamburgers and pizza were a better choice. Buffet=average. Liquor was watered down but same high prices. Entertainment?? Maybe if your standards are really low. Other Carnival ships were better - maybe its just the Glory but we're not gonna take a chance.

My reflections by srcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The flight was booked very well. Sailing out of Miami was easy. Loved the ship and its dining room staff was fantastic. I was not wowed by the housekeeping - 2 days to get bottled water replaced and ice was scarce. Very disappointed that I could not purchase formal pictures in less than 8x10 size. The "Discover Mexico" excursion needs to be tossed out - directed to two places where small children were selling merchandise - no cultural information given and delivered to a beautiful beach for too short a time. I truly enjoy cruising and will book again soon.

A marginal cruise by jlwongloising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It was my first cruise and I did not know that you had to pay for everything you like. I took a yoga class it cost me $12. We took a tour in Roatan called the \"discover Roatan\" the tour was definitely over priced, the boat ride was a joke (they should eliminate that), the bus ride was a little bit better because you got some sightseeing.

Carnival Glory Cruise by JeanneO1

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The embarkation and disembarkation (using \"Self Assist\") was seem-less. The wait staff and cabin stewards were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent in the dining room and buffet. Lots of variety. Entertainment was pitiful. The ship was dirty in the common areas---especially the windows. Couldn't even see out of most---esp. our balcony rail glass. There were lots of bars and this cruise was definitely for the younger drinking crowd who enjoyed vulgar comedians. No such thing as \"family friendly\" entertainment. The buffet food was good except there were long lines and most times we just gave up waiting for the specialty food (deli, burritos, etc.). Room service was very good but usually later than promised. The cabin was very small for 3 adults. The gym was very nice as well as the steam room and sauna. There were few free amenities and a \"step-down\" from RCCL and HAL. We won't book another Carnival again.
